What are your thoughts on the C6 Grand Sport?
Dude that was an amazing and awesome review of the driving experience! Felt like i was in the drivers seat in the beginning with all of the extra feels and sounds... ill be ready in about 2 years to either get a 2002-03 C5 Z06 or a C6 GS (2012-13, they have better OEM seats) wider track like the Z06. Been watching reviews of both. Love the pop up headlights on the C5, but the wider body/track of the C6 GS is smoking hot. I know the interior of the C6 is better then C5. I’m probably answering my own question here, I’m leaning towards the C6 GS, but want your opinion. Of course the C5 Z06 is a better bang for the buck. I wont be tracking either car. Have you ever driven a C5 Z06 ? Thanks and have a great day
@@stephendibari5010 I unfortunately never had a chance to go in a C5 ZO6 so I can't give my opinion about that one. The flip up headlights are a forgotten feature and very cool. As far as looks? I dig the "notched" look of the C5 ZO6, but the C6 GS / ZO6 is just drop dead gorgeous on the outside.
@@TheDutchTexan I agree .. It may come down to $ which is typically the deciding factor. When the time is right I will see what is available. looking for a good clean well preserved version with less than 50 K miles
I loved the heck out of this review. What a great job with the sound no major distortion and you could really hear that baby rip. I found myself shifting with you and grunting after each shift hahaha. I miss the fk out of my vet winter winter go away lol.. Thank you sir for this it helps me through the winter time.
The creak that you are hearing comes from the targa top. Periodically, you have to remove the top and clean the weatherstripping and lubricate it as well as the latches. After that it's as quite as brand new.
I've had my 2011 GS since new in 2010. That's the only creak I've had.
How many muffler cut scenes , this dude : yes
definitely a good choice to learn driving a stick with. Plus look at the size of that trunk. You can fit so much weed and moonshine in there

Why does nearly every reviewer of the C6 feel compelled to make negative comments about the interior? It is an absolutely beautiful and highly functional interior with nothing gaudy or superfluous in it, and with one of the very best analog gauge clusters in automotive history. It is every bit as good as the drop dead exterior styling and function.
Because it just doesn’t fit the flashy exterior of the car. It’s like night and day, it clashes. But it’s just an opinion and I respect yours.
Besides: I’d LOVE one regardless. You don’t buy it for the interior.

There’s a switch on the seats to close in the sides or make wider. You can get that bucket seat feel by closing them

To eliminate the drone, install the mild to wild switch to close the valves on the NPP exhaust. When I'm cruising on the freeway I keep mine closed (unless I want them open) on long trips quite is better than the drone.

Out of her. I’m on my 4th C6(3 convertibles-1 std, 2 GS & a hardtop Z06) & they are awesome vehicles. Super fun and they have all been reliable except for my ‘05… first yr curse. Otherwise, incredible. I did change the head unit to a Bluetooth/CarPlay capable unit and that is an incredible upgrade.
It’s your video that inspired me to by the C6 GS. She’s a Convertible with only 6500 miles.

Plenty of bolt ons out there for the platform, that’s for sure! It’s plenty quick out of the box already though!

@@TheDutchTexan My Father is from Rotterdam. I’m born here but it’s like going home back home in the NL.
I’m so torn between this and a C7 Z51 for my next daily. C6 GS is bulletproof and priced the same but C7 has a waaaay better interior. On the other hand, C7 auto had so many issues and not sure I want to commute around Boston with a manual again. I don’t care what anyone says, manuals are great but stop-and-go rush hour traffic with a manual blows 😩.
the c7 stingray and grand sport auto are fine, a z06 auto you’ll have overheating issues and the z06 is tuned for quarter mile times so 5th gear bogs down
I had both a Grand Sport C7 and a Z06 both automatics with no issues when I had them. C7 is a better car than the C6 but the C6 is a much better value cost wise imo. I almost always let the autos shift themselves because they did it so well. The shifts are so fast in auto when you nail it. A Z06 C7 is way too much power for a daily imo. The C7 can barely put down Z06 power.
@@sufficetosay agreed on all points. I ended up with a 13 C6 GS. The body style just spoke to me, color and spec was perfect and the interior felt a bit less cramped. But I will say the trans acts a lot like a cvt so I have it in sport or grabbing the paddles most of the time unless I’m on the highway on the way to work in the morning. I might consider having the trans tuned because in regular Drive the rev hang is obnoxious and it will not upshift lol. Obviously the interior is dated but for some reason she was the one. Corvettes rule 🤘🏻
@@sufficetosay I had a c7, and the front was very nice but the rear wasn't for me. I think the c6 is still better looking in every 360 turn.

Depends heavily on mileage and owner history.
aobut 10k more then last year ....
I was looking at c6 grand sports for anywhere from 30k to 45k, 35k for one with 64k miles. 41k for one with 24k miles.
@@johnj05 I just bought a 2010 GS convertible. 6500 miles . Cost was 46k
Base 2010 manual for me. Z06 didnt feel like it was worth 15k more at the time ...and it still isnt lol

If you got a family? Scat. If it's just you? GS no doubt.
C6 all day. Scat pack sounds and pulls amazing but is soooo heavy and way less reliable.

I honestly don’t know. Best thing to do is go to a local dealer that has one. Or better yet, go to a car show. Bound to be a few there and if you ask they’ll probably let you!

My Lexus LS460 has 386 hp and will get me from Chicago to Denver in exactly the same time minus the headache and PITA. Just curious... Why must a 430 hp car be stiff, loud, and bolstered to the point of extreme discomfort?
