@@sharonefee1426 the reason it’s the opposite usually is because stage left always was the villain and hell in ancient times but the stage right was usually the hero or the heavens.
Well all honesty that's pretty much the point of this cause this version of hide gin of hide is basically a evil version of jekyll But at the same time there are some tactics that hyde has So it would make sense But that is my opinion
I mean, this is more Dissociative Identity than anything. Edit: Not that this is what real DID looks like, either. It is commonly misunderstood that people with DID become violent like Hyde when one of their alters (different identities) is fronting (being the one more or less "in control of the body") when it is not the case for most. Schizophrenia, on the other hand, is also commonly misunderstood and quite frankly doesn't really resemble Jekyll's situation at all, unless we're considering his ambitions for his experiment to be a "delusion of grandeur," but it's still a big stretch. It is harmful to use schizophrenia interchangeably with any "crazy" mental disorder symptoms and only adds to negative stereotypes of mental disorders in general.
This actor is amazing; he plays a perfect Jekyll and a perfect Hyde. I love how he so desperate for the formula to work in the beginning and the voice change, and fact that you hardly ever see Hyde's face. All in all bravo. 👏👏👏👏👏
he's...........so hopeful about his experiment at the beginning of the song. and guess what buddy. he's stabbing himself at the end of the play. This Kills The Man
Holy crap!! This is amazing! Your voice is just.....wow! I cant imagine playing this part, what with the voice changes between Jekyll and Hyde and you nailed it!! Also, really appreciated your details in the characterization, really professional! :)
If you're talking about the high A in "Hyde", I've heard it performed professionally with and without it. I think shying away from it is smart for a baritone.
@Brent Ramirez not only did it make Jekyll seem a bit awkward, but also, many people think lefties are smarter, so it added a bit there, and in seeing hyde write with a different hand showed how they are entirely different, which was more effective than the former.
Fantastic, really inspiring to younger people involved in theatre. I enjoyed the small details of your characterization :) still have yet to see the full show, but I can't wait to see it!
I've been searching for a video other than Hasselhoff's version. A little disappointing that you didn't go for that last higher note, but I can't blame you.
The little high piano notes when he sings "and into the light" is 👌👌 this is subtle and perfect. The orchestra is amazing. A good orchestra makes everything better. A good singer is 👌 but combined with a good orchestra it’s ❤️🔥 I love the silence and calm after the transformation. It makes it even chilling ! The props are great too. The mirror behind is a nice aesthetic touch.
Great job with this! I have to say that, with the exception of the great Anthony Warlow, this ties for my favorite performance of this role (tied with another non-professional, coincidentally). The only criticism id give is that Hyde could use a little bit more energy, but it sounds like your tempo was a little slower than usual, so I can see how that'd be difficult. But overall, awesome job! That evil laugh gave me CHILLS
I enjoyed your Jekyll well enough, found your transformation a little sloppy, and frankly you could've put more energy and fun into the Hyde scene. But considering you were presumably pressed for time (What with you cutting through the sweet miss verse), it's all still very impressive for what it is.
I'm disappointed that there was so little appreciable difference in the appearance between Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde. While Stevenson gave no definitive description of Hyde, characters in the story agree that he is a small man, that there is some kind of deformity and he appears to exude an air of evil. All this guy did was effect an evil laugh. A really good one, at that.
Oh my gosh you are so amazingly talented! Your voice is incredible, it gave me chills! And that evil laugh, beautiful! One of the best I've ever heard hahaha :)
I love how he starts out writing with his left hand, then writes with his right after changing.
Alex Sarna Yeah, unlike other versions, it's the opposite, but in Alive he uses his right hand again

This is trully amazing and I love all your Jekyll/Hyde performance! This is the best version of this musical....wow, just wow
3:56 Hyde smacking the desk out of pure evil joy is a sight to see! Well done Brent!
7:48 "Tonight" - brutal and absolutely lovely ! H&J my 2nd favorite musical next to Sunset Blvd. I love your version of the characters. Bravo friend.
Will you be posting more? I'd LOVE to see the whole thing!!
Very talented, very skillful, very entertaining. I hope I can see you on broadway;). Btw, where's the bishop lol
Careful Hyde. Your Jekyll is showing.
But in all seriousness, this was absolutely AMAZING. This version is the best one I've seen yet!

Never thought Harry Potter is suffering from schizophrenia.
🤓😜
No kidding man. You read Harry's potter
schizophrenia has nothing to do with multiple personalities

XD he really look like Harry Potter especially for the glasses

Mason Blanco 🙏🙏🙏
Wow...that voice change though! Hyde just...wow...
Is there a full video of the entire show with this particular performances anywhere? Greatest jekyll and hyde I've seen
he's...........so hopeful about his experiment at the beginning of the song. and guess what buddy. he's stabbing himself at the end of the play. This Kills The Man
why u spoil ending
spoilers ;----;
the book is 100 years old
He's just like me fr
Do the world a favor. Try out for the phantom of the opera. I could see you making a *great* Erik.
Holy crap!! This is amazing! Your voice is just.....wow! I cant imagine playing this part, what with the voice changes between Jekyll and Hyde and you nailed it!! Also, really appreciated your details in the characterization, really professional! :)
Not me getting chills down shimmer down my spin cause they way the voice change
I like how they used the drink instead of the shot, talking about taste right after makes more sense
How are you so talented at only a college level please go be on broadway your voice is amazing and your acting skills as well are phenomenal!!!
Agreed!
Thank you!
I really like how you can't see Hyde, making you imagine how scary he looks.
Many years later I always look for this performance when I’m in the mood to listen to this musical
If you're talking about the high A in "Hyde", I've heard it performed professionally with and without it. I think shying away from it is smart for a baritone.
Love ur voice and the BRITISH ACCENT..BRAVO!!!!
love your evil laugh lol
God, I keep coming back to this version again and again. Absolutely my favorite Jekyll and my favorite Hyde.
@Brent Ramirez not only did it make Jekyll seem a bit awkward, but also, many people think lefties are smarter, so it added a bit there, and in seeing hyde write with a different hand showed how they are entirely different, which was more effective than the former.
Not that so much as some people think left-handedness is evil.

It's strange that Dr. Jekyll writes with his left hand and Mr. Hyde writes with his right hand. All I know is that Hyde writes with his left hand.
Savanna Woodson I guess it is an affirmative action.
so i wanted to see the "transformation" so i skiped and heard "oh god" it made me laugh so hard.
Wow you truly are an amazing actor this is my favorite version of Jekyll and Hyde and I wish someday you can give me tips to being a better actress
Can this please put on iTunes or something, he is such an amazing singer!
I love how they share one brain but still Jekyll is doctor and Hyde is mister
Hyde didn't work for that degree.
The little high piano notes when he sings "and into the light" is 👌👌 this is subtle and perfect. The orchestra is amazing.
A good orchestra makes everything better. A good singer is 👌 but combined with a good orchestra it’s ❤️🔥

The props are great too. The mirror behind is a nice aesthetic touch.
Really nice. You guys put in a lot of effort and it shows!
So surprised to see its a collage production, it's really great, both the talent and the set.
I love this! Favorite version by far! :)
So this my favorite version of Jekyll and Hyde by far! Good work!
Thanks so much!

You have the most amazing singing voice... I got goose bumps, it was that amazing
That just blew me away...
It's just amazing! I haven't got words to describe this!
No one will ever surpass your version of the transformation...once again you are brilliant and belong on stage...you are a natural!
This is a University production? Wow. So much talent in every area.
That's pretty clever.
The piccolos in the instrumentals ahahaha
Yeah, still got chills from this. AWESOME AWESOME JOB!!!
It reminds me the movie, an outstandingly awesome job!!!!!
Beautiful singing Sir.
His Hyde laugh is just uuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Awesome!

Thanks for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed my Jekyll! Had fun all around with this.
Brent Ramirez and fun is the most important part of your role. *Bumping of the fist*
perfect 💕💖
Tbh, his performance is great, but the singing voice lacks tbh. Hasselhoff was extravagant. And the original of the 1990s has the great song voice
There is something about his performence that I simply love!
Huge voice
I like this version. Sometimes they don't aways hit it with me but this does.
This dude is just simply very talented. Period!
Ahhhh this is amazing !!!
Impressive performance!
Really really good!!!!
Amazing Love it!!!😄
I laughed at this
Not in a mean way don't take offense 😳
Okay who is this Jekyll tho? He is HOT AS FUCK. ❤
I love Anthony Warlow's singing best but this guy looks like how I always imagined him. ;-;
Вау, какая прекрасная игра! И голос! Это восхитительно
What scene is this

Faith Castillo Well, in the original, we were meant to think they are two different people, but in fact they have the same body.
Oh my gosh you are so amazingly talented! Your voice is incredible, it gave me chills! And that evil laugh, beautiful! One of the best I've ever heard hahaha :)
