"No noticeable behavioral differences" he says as he's giggling like he remembered a stupid joke Utterson told a half hour ago.

Did you notice that he swaps accents depending on he is doing when he is talking, it is an American accent. When he is singing as Jekyll, he is more Italian. When he is Hyde, it's more Spanish, which is his natural accent. The only reason is that each accent represents a side of his character. It is representative of Hyde of being the true form of man.

Wow the way he was documenting his changes is incredible, his voice is soft and soothing untill you see Hyde come out. My mouth dropped to the floor this is beautifull! Cant wait to see the Confrontation scene!!

He's so good!!! From his dignified, sweet, more treble-y voice dipping into a more guttural, deeper one-- and the whole transition part into Hyde-- there were a lot of nuances in this scene that I enjoyed seeing! Even the foreshadowing to the final confrontation scene, when he flips and claws his way through the pain-- just, yes! "Alive" is gonna be an awesome number, I can feel it. :D

I loved his natural Spanish accent he'd used last time as Hyde, and I hope he uses it again. I also loved not only the difference in the transformation this time around, but also how the sound echoed when he spoke as Hyde.

Holy cow, how is this guy so good!?!?!?! I was holding my breath the whole time, even though I've seen this before. I love seeing the subtle differences between this one and the version he did earlier. Especially the part he added, when he sings "something is...taking hold!", he switched really quickly to Hyde's voice there, than back to Jekyll again before the final switch. And how he makes his voice high and creepy for "I forgot to put the light out." SO GOOD!

Agree with the praise for Gregorio's performance. 1:10 to 1:47 should be mentioned though. He is only singing about a vial of red dyed liquid but for those seconds, he makes me believe that this formula is one of the most fascinating and greatest things I've ever seen.

  • @suzannerider9460

I have noticed that the actor is singing and talking about himself in the first person. In the theatre, this is used to express a person and their hopes, dreams and fears. The voice change is a notable difference. In the speaking part, he is more American. When he's singing as Hyde, he's more of a tenor with an Italian accent. When he's Hyde, he has a Spanish accent and a baritone quality to his voice. This is meant to show that Jekyl and Hyde are one and the same person, and not two separate people.

I am sorry for any previous comments that I made about this video. At the time of writing, I did not understand the story and what it was about. It is about the dark side of human nature and the importance of reputation in VIctorian society. Hyde is not a different person to Jekyll, but an darker version of Jekyll. The potion takes away the veneer of respectability and lets him do things without the responsibilities.
