Hyde's transformation in the book was a total physical makeover, he shrunk to the size of a chimp and clambered about like one while wreaking havok. In later versions of the tale, Edward grew with each misdeed while Henry shrank, but originally Mr. Hyde was a squat little goblin, to match Henry's lack of a "dark side" I'd assume in this version the transformation is more mental, but i'd also make a healthy assumption that it gave him superhuman capabilities as well
Amazing. You've completely captured Hyde's insanity and euphoria, to the point where he is crying tears of joy. He is just reveling in everything he does. You were also spot on how sinister he can be with the confrontation with Lucy. Thank you for all the work you have put into making this. All of us were anticipating this and you delivered.
the tears are a really nice touch. This song is just him in pure euphoria at his unyielded lust and freedom; for him to cry tears of joy after doing debaucherous things makes utter sense for the euphoric but insane character. The theatrics of his movements are also great, I too think he'd be quite the dramatic poser, one who'd continually touch himself because the sensations of the body would be just so intense he can't help himself. Keep up the great work!
Late response oh well. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but that could be Jekyll sort of watching from the passenger seat, as he feels control of his body slip away
this is strange but when I saw this video for the first time (also listening to the music for the first time) my heart started to beat hard and I felt the joy of Hyde in me. Of course he's a lunatic monster, but he loves life! he cries with emotion for being alive! maybe that's the only good thing about him. so let's all do like Hyde, let's go out barefoot on the street singing and thanking us for being alive! Make the most of your life because it is one! (without killing anyone of course hahaha)
In the original tell dr. Jekyll was praised for being and upstanding gentleman through and through. Intelligent with age and study he was truly admired. Yet he desired to release inner mischievous desires. And so he created a elixir that changed his appearance to someone more youthful and mischievous in appearance taking the name mr. Hyde. At first it was harmless pranks, fraternizing, rude behavior. By day the respectable dr. Jekyll and by night the fun loving mr. Hyde all with a drink of his concoction to change from one to the other. As time went on Hyde’s behavior became more erratic pushing harmless to violent. Seeing this change Jekyll decided to stop taking the elixir threatening to cut off Hyde. But after a while the temptation became too great taking it once more. After this Hyde’s existence became harder to control in that the transition between the two men started happening with out the help of the elixir.
So, in the book, Hyde is composed of all the things that Jekyll feels are his "Bad traits" that he must hide from the world to maintain his reputation. As we can see, his love for Lucy when he is engaged to Lisa Hyde expresses his love so much to the point he is violent. As Edward Hyde is parts of Henry Jekyll put together and exploited to create a full person. (My other theory is that because Hyde seems to be around the same age as Jekyll, possibly younger, is that Jekyll was equal in good and bad traits. Creating a balance, or an unbalance, I'm not too sure) So my theory. Is when Hyde states that "With Satan himself by my side" he shows a level of admiration in Satan. "Satan himself" is that there is only one, and no one else could be as sinister as Satan. Hyde being "Evil", and potentially a murderer most likely means sinister in a very well way. Because Hyde is a collection of traits Jekyll wants to keep away from the public eye, he uses Hyde to explore and break the rules. So my idea is that either Jekyll is a closeted Satanist or a closeted Athiest. He seems to show such lack in the faith he is proposed to have until "The wedding reception". Throughout Jekyll doesn't care if his experiments are orthodox or "Seen in the eyes of God." But because of his standing in society, he needs to be the best person to keep it up. That's where Hyde comes in. Unafraid of judgment and any social standing, because he stands in none. Since Hyde and Jekyll are at equal standpoints of the situation, its anyone's game for control. Not just Jekyll. And since Hyde is a bit of a controlling bitch, that's where Jekyll regrets his decision and tries to get rid of Hyde. Even though Hyde is pretty much just the other hidden half of himself. Sorry its so long, I really love your animations!
That's,,, actually a good idea. The idea that Jekyll for all his genius just isn't convinced of the idea of God. As for the younger part, honestly I think Hyde is younger, because Jekyll refuses to spend any time indulging in his worse nature.
@@franziska9260 also, there's also the theory from Jekyll himself that Hyde's body is younger becauae he spent such little time being "evil" than being "good".

I always wonder where he got the knife. Like, I don't think he would have had the forethought to bring one with him after just transforming. So does that mean that Jekyll carries around large knives in his cloak pockets?
This is perfect, the motions, the pacing, the imagery. The sequence with him stalking Lucy was especially tense. Whenever I listen to this track, I find the length of time it takes to get back to singing is always awkward to listen to and visualise. Here, the tension is wracked up as he torments and gropes her. His manic poses and actions are also true to how I envision him as moving while singing. Bravo, bravo.
I love Hyde's expressions and scruffy hair. Once again you've out done yourself with the addition of more backgrounds. Excellent job. Thank you for creating and sharing.

01:24-01:32 What an idea! I like that you drew both Jekyll and Hyde in this scene! Love your works, keep it up! :) Hi and love from Hungary 😊 PS : I think I'm in love with your Hyde😳
OMG. Hyde is both an amazing and creepy character. You do an amazing job capturing his insanity, darling. I adore him, because you made him so overdramatize. Like in the beginning when you made him do poses with the beat!! ❤️❤️❤️ That was adorable! OMG!! Ugh!! This is why I get so happy and excited when you upload. You’re just an amazing artist/animator! As well as a person. Fantastical job, love! ❤️❤️😊😊
Bruh I KNEW Hyde was giving me creepy vibes. I absolutely love the art and thanks to your animatics this is going to be added to my list of favorite musicals
I love your touch at 1:25 ! Beautiful! You can just see the terror on Henry. Like he's trapped in his own body, helplessly watching as Hyde goes on a rampage and there's nothing he can do. This is also just after he transformed, so i can imagen he must be so confused and terrefied!
Am I a bad person for wanting to cry with Hyde over his freedom? Just looking at his pure joy over feeling alive, and knowing the lyrics meaning makes me want to chase with him!? You have given me a deeper love for the story and the musical. (I just order the original album and finish rereading the book)
It’s such a twisted joy but this animatic especially just makes me see the pure europhic joy that was enough to bring him to tears. To finally be free. It almost made me feel similarly to you. I guess that’s the point, we all have repressed dark thoughts in us that every once in a while we can’t help but want to let out
Personally, I think this is the best animatic for Alive. I love how much Hyde leaps around in this one. He seems way more, well, alive then in the others.
That's how you sleep at night, you don't touch anyone, and some weirdo is running around on the roofs at this time and yelling that HE is EDWARD HAAAAAAAAID
2:35 - WHEN THE HELL DID YOU GET A KNIFE, EDWARD?! Also, another wonderful job on an animatic. I love everytime a new one comes out. As well as "Dangerous Game", do you think you could do "No One Knows Who I Am"? It's such a beautiful yet sad solo of Lucy's and then there's a really cool bit at the end where (SPOILERS) you think you hear Jekyll come in to the room, but it turns out to be Hyde.
Cure Starlight hmmmmmm, well maybe he borrowed one from Jekyll, I'm sure he has some science knives lying around the place! Could have kept it in his cape coat !
Greater Grievobeast 55 You know, it's kinda funny, 'cause I don't think Hyde would have the forethought to bring a knife after he just transformed. So does that mean Jekyll just carries around large knives in his cloak pockets?
This song makes me want to cut of my long hair, dye it black, get a cape and top hat, and run around my neighborhood at night, and jump on cars and climb tree maybe throw so thing at people.
This is my favorite song in the whole musical. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it. And you captured Hyde's sinister and crazy nature perfectly, this video is my little gem that I will cherish forever.
Learned that my classmate doesn't know the story of Jekyll & Hyde (don't ask how, actually there are others here who haven't heard of it apparently)....anyway, I showed this video and also the one for Confrontation...and now, she understood why I'm addicted to these 😄😄
Each one is even more amazing then the last!! This is one of my top songs on the musical and DANG did you bring it to life! My heart was racing during the meeting with Lucy, and I like how you added the injury, since that is what brings her to Jekyll and he finds out "Hyde" hurt Lucy.
Definitely one of your best from this series. Not sure about anyone else, but I could feel the wild excitement Hyde had throughout the video. The last piece where he was staring dead-ahead was really haunting in a primal and beautiful way.
I love the artwork and depiction of the song, you clearly projected how he must've looked when he sang with him crying, not because of his actions but the adrenaline of life and to add to it life without restraints, to be free from self discipline and live out your greatest fantasies, I love the story in general. Hyde is what Jekyll suppressed and hes finally out and the story is beautiful especially the way you portray it
I've probably listened to this song more than a hundred times, but I've never quite understood the underlying joy behind it until watching this animatic. I've never imagined a joyful Hyde before and I have you to thank.
I have not heard the entirety of Jekyll and Hyde. But, I caught a glimpse of Confrontation! "With Satan himself by my side!" I really enjoy Jekyll and Hyde because of your videos! You put so much emotion into each video it's amazing.
That bit of confrontation is a reprise of this I believe! Because “I feel like I could live on forever” here. Then in confrontation, “I’ll live inside you forever”
GOODNESS EVERYTIME YOU POST A NEW ANIMATIC I JUST ABOUT CRY TEARS OF JOY This is absolutely amazing!! Your characterization is always so wonderful! Hyde was so creepy here that I was ACTUALLY RECOILING??? I WAS HORRIFIED

Bravo, bravo.
current mood: watching this w/o audio bc u can't find ur headphones but you know the song so well you're just singing it in your head
Hyde when he starts posing: Oh yeah the ladies love me
Hyde at 0:28 : wait people are watching? Oh-
Lmao love this comment xD
I love Hyde's expressions and scruffy hair. Once again you've out done yourself with the addition of more backgrounds. Excellent job. Thank you for creating and sharing.
I loved the tear of joy he had during the crescendo
Intellectual Gengar I agree, it shows the absolute joy he’s feeling, the joy of being alive.
2:00 I was listening to this while walking my dog. At night. Alone.
I regret everything.
Oh. Oh no. You poor thing.
Nightcore Subliminals Oh you poor soul, I’m so sorry
Poor fool…
2:20 that purr gave me shivers. I thought my cat was about to attack me. But, this is the creepy thing....
My cat is named Edward.
Oh God. But does he Hyde though x,D
@@ViktoriaMagrey Actually...Yeah. He loves hiding inside of cupboards for sneak attacks at my face
@@nikita3979 Ahahaha that's great- Now I feel the need to call my next male cat something like Henry or Edward...Unfortunately my darlings are both female. I actually thought of calling one of them something like Lucy! Maybe next time.
*Deep Breath*
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I was awake to see this.
2:20, I don't know why, but hearing this purr just made me let out a big fan girl scream-
Agh! So predatory in his movements! Like a wolf or a leopard! I love it!
01:24-01:32
What an idea! I like that you drew both Jekyll and Hyde in this scene!
Love your works, keep it up! :)
Hi and love from Hungary 😊
PS : I think I'm in love with your Hyde😳

I dearly love the panicked reflection of Jekyll in the mirror
When you take three vitamin gummies instead of two:
Bruh I KNEW Hyde was giving me creepy vibes. I absolutely love the art and thanks to your animatics this is going to be added to my list of favorite musicals
I love your touch at 1:25 ! Beautiful! You can just see the terror on Henry. Like he's trapped in his own body, helplessly watching as Hyde goes on a rampage and there's nothing he can do. This is also just after he transformed, so i can imagen he must be so confused and terrefied!
I always thought that that's how it feels to be hypnotized, like you KNOW you're doing stuff, but you can't stop yourself.
Am I a bad person for wanting to cry with Hyde over his freedom? Just looking at his pure joy over feeling alive, and knowing the lyrics meaning makes me want to chase with him!? You have given me a deeper love for the story and the musical. (I just order the original album and finish rereading the book)
Well, I do too, so…
It’s the wrong kind of joy, I feel. The kind that you get from hurting. The evil kind, that must be avoided.
It’s such a twisted joy but this animatic especially just makes me see the pure europhic joy that was enough to bring him to tears. To finally be free. It almost made me feel similarly to you. I guess that’s the point, we all have repressed dark thoughts in us that every once in a while we can’t help but want to let out
Genuinely excited for Dangerous Game though
God, I love you S. K. Michels.
And I love you, Lena Rosic ;)
Your art and Anthony Warlow's versions fit like a glove, gives me the chills everytime.
Keep em comin' ^^
I ZYOOMED AT THE SPEED OF SOUND
Please do as many Jekyll and Hyde songs as you can!
Personally, I think this is the best animatic for Alive.
I love how much Hyde leaps around in this one. He seems way more, well, alive then in the others.
This is the best. ❤❤
So creepy and crazy. Really enhances the song!
That's how you sleep at night, you don't touch anyone, and some weirdo is running around on the roofs at this time and yelling that HE is EDWARD HAAAAAAAAID
Are we just going to ignore how evily hot and dramatic he is!?! Also his voice is Heavenly!! That last nite shook me
2:35 - WHEN THE HELL DID YOU GET A KNIFE, EDWARD?!
Show me what you have!
Hyde: A knife!
NO-!
@@lukeball6960 Damnit Edward!
Greater Grievobeast 55 You know, it's kinda funny, 'cause I don't think Hyde would have the forethought to bring a knife after he just transformed. So does that mean Jekyll just carries around large knives in his cloak pockets?
Laura C.C. I wouldn’t blame him if he did, Londons at this time was riddled with crime and feral dogs pfft.
I love how you convey the mania of Hyde! I also love how a frightened Jekyll was trapped in Hyde’s reflection.

Hyde: *Jumps off building*
_ROLL CREDITS_
This song makes me want to cut of my long hair, dye it black, get a cape and top hat, and run around my neighborhood at night, and jump on cars and climb tree maybe throw so thing at people.
This is my favorite song in the whole musical. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it. And you captured Hyde's sinister and crazy nature perfectly, this video is my little gem that I will cherish forever.
Learned that my classmate doesn't know the story of Jekyll & Hyde (don't ask how, actually there are others here who haven't heard of it apparently)....anyway, I showed this video and also the one for Confrontation...and now, she understood why I'm addicted to these 😄😄
Kath Navarrete Those two songs were my introduction to the musical, I listened to the full soundtrack for the first time today and cried.
Each one is even more amazing then the last!! This is one of my top songs on the musical and DANG did you bring it to life! My heart was racing during the meeting with Lucy, and I like how you added the injury, since that is what brings her to Jekyll and he finds out "Hyde" hurt Lucy.
This honestly made it seem like... Everything felt a bit too sexual. I love it.
Why?!?!?!.
@@romanacumbova9036 Because it conveyed the emotion and general vibe that I got from the song very well.
I nearly feel bad for how he ends up. Considering how much he loves life.
I mean he loved life for the wrong reasons, he is the embodiment of what Henry Jekyll thinks is a negative attribute.
I don’t.
Definitely one of your best from this series.
Not sure about anyone else, but I could feel the wild excitement Hyde had throughout the video. The last piece where he was staring dead-ahead was really haunting in a primal and beautiful way.
3:26 this moment tho
2:20 aw that chilling purring though
3:42 Does he love Lucy or Satan??? Cus that pose got me thinkin’
Definetly satan!
Definitely Satan indeed
@@jinxed_it7282 yeahhhhhhhh!
Hyde: Oh, stant full me up with sin ah~ moans~mmm~ 🥵👉👌
Jekyll: uhh I feel weird 🫷😳🤚
Oh my oh my oh my oh my oh my oh my yes! You did Alive! Finally! It's my favourite one.
*Video starts*
Hyde: *Aggressively poses*
OML YES!! THIS IS MY FAV SONG FROM THE MUSICAL TOO!! Just.. 😖 THANK YOU FOR THIS
I don't care that this was posted 5 years ago, its absolutely perfect! 😁
I've never imagined a joyful Hyde before and I have you to thank.
it’s beautiful just like him 🔥🖤
Holy crap, the way it ended was eerie. It fits Hyde so damn well.
lmao this entire animatic just convinced me that Dr Jekyll was just really far into the closet, and his potion just let it out
I have not heard the entirety of Jekyll and Hyde. But, I caught a glimpse of Confrontation!
"With Satan himself by my side!"
I really enjoy Jekyll and Hyde because of your videos! You put so much emotion into each video it's amazing.
That bit of confrontation is a reprise of this I believe! Because “I feel like I could live on forever” here. Then in confrontation, “I’ll live inside you forever”
I was looking forward to this video and it was worth every second
Being that is my favorite musical makes it even better when coupled with this art. Bravo my friend bravo
That 2nd to last frame was sooo good!!
Have i watched this animatic at least 20 times? Yes. Will I stop anytime soon? Nope. It's so good.
Every time his shirt rides up I'm just like.... 't-tumby...'
You and I with similar thought processes. Holy fuck.
I have always loved this song
I can't help but sing and dance the song with him. What a partner!
GOODNESS EVERYTIME YOU POST A NEW ANIMATIC I JUST ABOUT CRY TEARS OF JOY
This is absolutely amazing!! Your characterization is always so wonderful! Hyde was so creepy here that I was ACTUALLY RECOILING??? I WAS HORRIFIED
You know, if being evil would fix my eyes, I would definitely give it a try.
It doesn't work, trust me. Experience.
after i have watched countless animatics...
this is the horniest one. congrats.
Oh my gosh this is absolutely beautiful.
