- Some huge changes are coming to the way you’ll plan your Disney World vacation. Starting July 24th Genie+ is no more and Lightning Lanes are changing to multi pass and single pass.
In today’s show Serena will break down everything you need to know. How we got here, what the new system will be, and then answer all your questions about how this will work in the parks. And finally she’ll give her thoughts on whether these changes are good. Let’s get to it!
I think your Simplified Park Strategy was SO well thought out and will still be very relevant except for some portions. The overall concepts will still be 100% usable! LOVE the 4-3-2-1
Thank you! Yes you’re totally right it will still work with some terminology changes 😉
I love your nap expert! ❤ This video was a great explanation of the changes! Can’t wait to hear how it plays out.
Thanks so much! Henry is feeling pretty good about his UA-cam debut 😉
Really I don’t care too much how they change it but I agree the name changes are hard to get used to and when you finally get it it’s been changing .
Great video! Lots of helpful information. It will be ineresting to see how this works, especially on day one. I'm fully expecting long processing times/lag and crashes. Hopefully I'm wrong. And you're not alone on remembering the names. My brain still defaults to telling my mouth to say "fastpass." lol Lastly, Henry was a great cohost! He should be in the videos more often :)
Thank you! And Henry enjoyed his UA-cam debut 😉
Thanks for sharing Tonya recommended you! As a travel agent this helps a lot😊
I feel that they could have just kept the fast pass system the way it was, and just have people pay for it. However I do like the lightening lane “ala carte” option. Great job as always Serena ❤️
Thank you!! And yes I agree Fastpass was great!
Thank you so much for the very informative video. It sounds like the multipass will be much better than Genie+ 🤞🏻
I totally agree why isn’t Lightning McQueen not used in the branding for lightning lanes.
Right?!
Thanks for another very informative video. I am very interested in your opinion as to which parks you think the multi-pass is worth it for a typically busy time.
If it stays the same as Genie was then Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios was always my top picks for being really worth the price. The other two you can get by with good strategies like arriving early, etc
@@livingbydisney Thank you! That's been my (limited) experience as well, but its nice to get it confirmed by an expert :)
This is such fantastic information! I’m curious to see how it will work once it’s rolled out… as an AP holder who stays off site sometimes, I hope that they’ll still have lots of availability at the 3 day mark. I’m also curious how it will work if you’re setting up rides for multiple days with the ones that are generally gone immediately. Have they said if at the 7 day and 3 day window it will still open at 7am? Sucks for us west coasters if so!
I’m curious about that too! Will definitely be testing it out and reporting back both for 7 and 3 day options. Thanks for watching!
Do we think there's a possibility that the character meet lightning lanes may be available for in-park reservations? Like after you get in and scan into your first lightning lane??
Definitely possible!
What are your thoughts on rides still being available for the 3 day window? Any idea what percentage of visitors stay on site?
I think they’ll make sure to have some
options for the 3 day window so people will buy it but I can see a few premium options like Slinky Dog being harder for offsite guests. But I’m definitely going to be testing that and will report back ☺️
@@livingbydisney thanks!
Sorry if I missed this in the episode but do we know what time of day the booking window opens? Same time as dining?
Thank you!!!
I’m hearing 7am ET ☺️
We are going to Disney with my family of 4, and my parents are meeting us down there. My parents are linked to our reservation, but arrive a few days after us. When I go to book our Lightning Lane rides 7 days before, can I book my parents Lightning Lane rides too beginning on their first park day? Or do I have to wait until their 7 day window opens?
I’m pretty sure you’ll have to wait until their window opens unless they’re in your same hotel room.
After you’ve used your 3 lightning lane multi passes, when you go to select more, do you have to pay again? Or is more included in the initial price?
They’re all included in the initial price. There’s no limit to how many you can get in one day, the only limit is 3 can be booked in advance before your park day. ☺️
