It’s been a few years since I’ve been on the Fantasy but the last time I was on, I went to the showers in the gym to get ready for the day. (They’re connected to the spa.) The showers are roomier and they had the Elemis products in there. It was nice to have a little “me” time alone.
While at Castaway Cay, get 2 large chocolate chip cookies (complimentary) and put soft vanilla ice cream between the cookies to make an ice cream sandwich. This is a Disney cast member favorite.
I've watched dozens of Disney videos and this was the most comprehensive and detailed one that I have seen. Excellent job! I've been on the Fantasy before and even I learned some new things for my trip on May 4th. Thank you so much for this great video!
Aw that’s so nice to hear! My specialty is practical tips you’ll really use. There’s a lot of filler online that doesn’t tell you much really. 😉 Thanks for watching! You’ll have to check out the new weekly video show we just launched! We cover Disney World and Cruise there. ☺️
Hey I really appreciate your take on this topic. Your tips were a little more unique than the same stuff everyone else on UA-cam recycles. I'll definitely be putting some of them to use for our Very Merry Cruise this year. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your vids!
Just watched your video as we have booked a cruise on The Fantasy for next summer - I learned some things I didn’t learn from other videos so thank you so much!
One caveat to magnets, the rooms depicted decorating the walls next to their doors often have to take their decorations down. Those panels hold vital gear in an emergency and as such can’t be blocked. Try to keep your decorations focused on the door and the angled bits next to the door as a best practice.
The Sommelier Bin ? It is wine people had to leave behind from previous cruises because they could not fly it home. If you take a wine with a cork, they have to uncork it for you for a fee. You get the glasses of wine cheaper.
We leave for cruise on the Fantasy in April and these tips are really going to help. We also can't wait to try out our drink caddy designed for cruises like this one!
I loved this video it’s the best one on a Disney cruise I’ve seen yet. I’m getting ready to go on the Fantasy 2 weeks from today and it’s my first cruise. Thanks for all the tips I have learned so much from watching this video.
This video has SOLD ME!!!! I am going to show it to my husband later and hope that it convinces him to give a Disney Cruise a CHANCE and not worry about the price :)
We were on the Fantasy last June and didn’t see the adult snack area at night! We are going back in July and happy to see it’s a thing! Didn’t know about happy hour either somehow! Thanks 😊
If you take your own wine to dining room there is a substantial corkage fee. Instead, We always open ours in the stateroom (steward will provide corkscrew if needed), fill our wineglasses (also provided by room steward), and take them with us to the dining room. This is totally permissible and incurs no corkage fee.
I’m going on the Disney Fantasy in November, my first Disney cruise ever and this video was incredible!! So much useful information 🙌🏼 thank u so much! 💛💛💛
SUB’d. This is the best of many good YT videos about the fantasy. You’ll see your sports game they’ll find it and put it on if they are in locations that they can get the sat signal. Euro Time zones sometimes make it hard to do but if they can - you are good to go.
If you mean during the dinners, your table is assigned to you and you’re not able to choose but we’ve found that most of them have a good view of the screens. ☺️
@@livingbydisneyOur travel agent always requests a window for us. Might not be able to do that if booking yourself though. Never hurts to ask if you have a preference.
When you add up all the stuff you get and the better food the price isn't that bad compared to most of the upscale cruises. No drink package, food is all good, etc etc
Definitely make a note of what you’re celebrating so the servers can plan some special celebration for you. And consider doing Palo or Remy for an extra special night. There are also couples massages in the spa and certain excursions have good options for adding some romance. Have a great time! 🤗
Has anyone found that some of these things dont happen on the Europe/shorter cruises? We did the Dream for four nights this summer and there was no drink of the day, no mickey bars or uncrustables, no happy hours and the Animators Palate only had a short Crush interaction and none of the drawing fun.
Thank you for the great video! We are going to cruise from 11/30 - 12/7! Have you had any sea sick? If so, what medicine/patch did you use? Or do you know some effective ways to prevent it?
I use Bonine (little tablets), buy them OTC from your pharmacy section in your grocery store. Another tip, stay lower and in the middle of the ship. We like deck 5, just make sure you're in the middle of the ship and that you have a cabin on each side above and below you. Makes a huge difference for those that get seasick or car sick, and keep your eye on the horizon, until you get used to the motion of the ship that helps me.

Thank you for this video! The new itineraries released last month show that the Fantasy will be doing 4- and 5-night cruises in 2025 and 2026. What’s your take on how that might impact Animators Palette?
It’ll depend on what dining rotation you have because some restaurants you’ll be in twice and some you won’t depending on what you start with. In that case I would assume they’d still do both Animators options for those that have it twice. So it may be worth requesting Animators as you’re starting dinner. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video because I was very sad since I didn't book the Icon instead, but this video just kept hope alive. 😅 but I'm still pissed ground transportation from the airport is $450 roundtrip (5 people) instead of complimentary 😢
Whoa really? From MCO? There may be cheaper options. Even Uber maybe less than that. I’d definitely look into others. But trust me you’re going to have an amazing time! 🤗
There are two main stores and they are right next to each other. Both sell backpacks of different styles and have lots of exclusive designs just for DCL. Might want to visit the first evening if there’s something in particular you’re looking for. Some popular items can sell out. 😊
Not only is this my first Disney cruise, it's my first cruise ever. These tips seem like they're very helpful and informative. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
But also, this is entirely TOO much!
It’s been a few years since I’ve been on the Fantasy but the last time I was on, I went to the showers in the gym to get ready for the day. (They’re connected to the spa.) The showers are roomier and they had the Elemis products in there. It was nice to have a little “me” time alone.
Same!

oh my gosh - this sounds so good!! Thanks for sharing!
I’m going to try this with my sister lol

Me watching while I’m on the fantasy
We leave for the fantasy on Saturday and this was by far the best video I’ve watched. Thank you so much for your insight!
So glad you liked it! Have the most wonderful time- it’s the BEST!
Have fun. We really enjoyed the Fantasy when we went in 2019.
So good! Made me more excited for our first cruise! Thanks for all the tips!
You’re welcome! Have so much fun!

Thanks for watching! And enjoy the cruise!
If you have small kids that don’t like hard bread the gluten free rolls at dinner are amazing!
You can bring popcorn buckets that you bought on a previous cruise or that you bought in the parks and they will be refilled for $1.50.
Great tip!
Went on a cruise last week and the price went up a little.
Thank you for the amazing video! We leave in a few days for our first Disney Cruise aboard the Fantasy and are beyond excited! Excellent tips!
You’re welcome! Have fun!!
I’m getting married on the fantasy in January I’m so excited
Thank you for the great ship review!
Our pleasure!

Haha love to hear it! We just did a podcast video comparing what you get on a cruise vs going to Disney World that you might like too! 🥴
The fantasy is the best Disney boat trust me its amazing and the healthy food is extremely good and free

Holy crud Disney cruises are darn expensive!!
When you add up all the stuff you get and the better food the price isn't that bad compared to most of the upscale cruises.

Yes😩 that's why I haven't been able to take one yet
Got any tips for honeymooners? Me and my wife are getting married in October and our cruise is from the 26th till November 2nd.

I haven’t had any issues myself but heard people really do well with the patches. They also sell them on the ship too. Enjoy your trip!

@@livingbydisney I though the "Corking Fee" was only if you drink your wine in a Restaurant.

They do! So if you have the later dinner then you’ll see the earlier show before you eat. So either way you won’t miss it. Have fun!

Yes! Lots of fun ones all over and a featured one every night at dinner too.
Do you know what store on the ship has the Disney backpacks?

The stores usually open 6 or 6:30 pm on the first night. You will probably have to wait in a line for a little bit before you can get in.
Do the magnets stick to the concierge doors? Thanks for the tips!
They do! Some of the doors I showed were on the concierge floor. And you’re welcome 🤗
What Etsy store do you like most ?
It’s linked in the description or search Once Upon a Cruise on Etsy. There’s lots of good ones but their stuff is amazing quality.
