If Disney disrupts the feng shui and the Aesthetics of the left side of the park like it looks like they have planned, it will truly be the nail in their coffin. that River and that Island creates the most iconic scenery and sightlines. Everything on that side of the park is literally built around that River! that river is as much a part of what makes Disney theme park a Disney theme park as the castle does!
Finally! We get an "Americas" theme land at Animal Kingdom! (you know, to go with Asia and Africa). And I love that it will have an Indy Ride. Separate from that thought, I can NOT believe they wouldn't put the new Lion King land at Animal Kingdom!? And how about using that train to nowhere to make a train ride to Zootopia Land!?
Well done on the coverage video! Thanks for your timing in getting this out so early! I am most excited about the Monster Inc. attraction! I always thought that the door system in the movie would make an amazing ride!
Thanks Jack! All looks so exciting! Looking forward to your follow up broadcasts on all this, and fingers crossed we see activity in the parks soon! Enjoy the rest of D23!
In regard to Disney building outdoor attractions in WDW, there are many dry days here in Florida. Of course it is currently our rainy season. But non summer months are in fact quite dry in which we are classified to be in drought conditions quite often.
Un Poco Loco from Coco was included in Mickey's Philharmagic show in the Magic Kingdom behind Cinderella Castle as Donald tried to salvage an orchestra detail. If Coco got a sequel, it will show Miguel witnessing a Cinco de Mayo fiesta planning and his cousin Rosa's quinceanera on a tight schedule before going on a world tour with a mariachi band and a girl his age, leading the band and on the way, stopping and destroying the elusive Chupacabra.
Monstropolis coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios is like the Monsters letting humans visit their world since Boo's interference and the evidence of laughter being more powerful than screaming. Relates to Monsters at Work and I would persist for Pixar to make Monsters: Birthright.
I watched the video upon waking up this morning! Thank you Jack for being a dependable and professional Disney news source. Most excited for the Walt animatronic and Villains land! Least excited for stark flight, it is hard to picture as an outdoor ride. The ride system works for Forbidden Journey because you dont see how the ride vehicle works as you fly through the indoor sets.
So much to get excited for! The dry spell for Magic Kingdom's nighttime parades is finally over. The Walt animatronic sounds amazing. Cars area and Villains land were definitely the highlight. Still holding out for Disneyland's Tomorrowland and Imagination, as well as Spaceship Earth refurbishments at some later date
I think this new Cars Land would best fit in Walt Disney Studios Paris, next to Cars Road Trip. There is a massive space they could use and it would perfectly continue the World of Pixar. I'd love that so much but what do I know...
Villains kingdom, they must do that. I’ve wanted to see a villains land for years. As somebody who used to work at the magic kingdom, that would be fabulous. If something has to go by the wayside if it cost too much money, the car is attraction in the magic kingdom it just doesn’t go
I absolutely can not wait for the monsters inc door coaster as it’s the only project we know of that is actually starting construction early 2025 so I can’t wait to ride it in late 2026 or early 2027
Jack, I love your channel (as always)! First off, I cannot believe the 23 announcements and the details you went into for this video! I cannot wait to see your next few videos regarding D23. Also, thank you for the mention of Alicia over at ThemeParkStop in one of your previous videos! Both of you guys are great, and both of you please continue to do what you do! Thank you for all your D23 coverage!
I will wait and see and get excited after it takes 5 yrs to build a scaled back version of whatever they promised. I am so sick of construction walls. Why aren't they just making another park? universal has the right idea
The big additions to DCA are too similar...both Marvel and Avatar are essentially sci-fi fantasy and appeal to a similar core demographic. So weird to concentrate their expensive investments all on a demographic that probably would rather be playing video games anyway.
You have a disappointing castle and BTM, plus Small World looks old inside and the weather gives you heatstroke, the locals might shoot you. What's so great about California??
I find that the new Monsters land coming to Hollywood studios will be replacing animation courtyard... It makes no sense going in the area of star tours and Backlot because Disney wouldn't pay money to update a ride that is about to close and we know for a fact that they spent money on the Asoka and Mando treatment Star Tours got a couple months ago... Animation Court yard has been known as a dead space in the parks for a while now Launch Bay flopped after the opening of Galaxies Edge and hasn't received any major changes or refurbishments (there's a lot of paint and graphics completely missing since its opening). If you look at the concept art for monsters there is more of an open courtyard and the rollercoaster needs a lot of space... I was surprised looking back at the footprint for launch bay because i forgot how big it actually was... the other place i heard was by lightning McQueen's racing academy but time will tell
I am truly excited to see these new areas and had a lot of fun exploring the convention center at D23... This was my first D23 event and the second night was awesome In the theater i was 8 rows back from the center stage :)
What WASNT mentioned at D23: no Epcot Spaceship Earth attraction refurbishment, no Epcot Wonders of Life shuttered pavilion information, no Epcot Journey into Imagination update, no Epcot World Showcase updates of any kind, no Disneyland Tomorrowland or People Mover mentions at all, no Star Tours update
Disney has to compete with a brand new park. I think if they would have announced nothing but refurbishment it would have been a disappointment. They need something new. And they announced a few of them. Now. Let’s see if they actually stick with it
I will say I am surprised that they aren’t putting out a new inside out attraction somewhere in Walt Disney World especially where they had the wonders of life pavilion just get it all out and make it inside out
I think with the construction lasting so long in EPCOT, they are going to give some much needed attention to other areas that need it and revisit EPCOT at a later date. I imagine they still want to do the Spaceship Earth refurbishment.
I think DCA Avatar, Monstropolis, and the Walt Animatronic have me the most hyped. LOVED Way of Water and have always wanted to ride Shanghai pirates. That suspended door coaster has been everyone’s dream since watching monsters Inc for the first time. And seeing Walt like that is gonna make me SOB! The future of the Disney Parks seems really bright for the first time in a long time and I couldn’t be more excited!!
It's sad that I agree with you. I trust Disney only when they start building, and even then I have doubts if they will deliver it in the same way as announced. I still remember Epcot and everything they promised and everything they didn't do or changed. And yes, Covid was bad but why can't a problem like that not happen again to Disney? For example what if; Disney+ is getting too expensive, Elon tries to take over or the biggest shareholders say that the higher management should be replaced. Don't be surprised that if Disney suddenly gets in bad/worse weather they wouldn't cancel everything.
Yep exactly! Even before COVID they announce things, provide concept art and don't build what they promised. All these announcements do is get the Disney fanboys all excited thinking they actually got something when in fact we'll probably only get about 60-70% of what was announced due to "budget cuts".
@@ducktails1695I’m not sure man, a lot of people resonate with Disney Villains, and I’d argue they resonate more than classic Universal Monsters. That’s not to say Dark Universe won’t be amazing, I’m truly excited for it, but people really enjoy their Disney Villains and I’m excited to see Disney take it on
Thank you, Jack for the great update. You are very concise and it was better than having to sit through the entire video. As a Californian, I’m excited about the Walt Disney animatronic, and the new expansions to California adventure. I really hope the two new attractions bring life to avengers campus. I have mixed feelings about the Mandalorian skin on smugglers run. Galaxies edge needs a lot more than that! I’m also excited about the new attractions at Magic Kingdom and Disney World. We were thinking about going out to Florida to see epic universe in 2026, but now we’ll just wait a couple more years until everything is finished at Disney World. I think the villains land is something to look forward to, but we shall see. I’m wondering if they did this in response to epic universes monsters land.
As a Californian, I'm most looking forward to Avatar coming to California Adventure and the Walt Disney animatronic as part of the 70th anniversary. Obviously the biggest thing that the Disneyland resort "needs" is a Tomorrowland refurb. Hopefully we get that in 2026.
This is enough stuff that I'll be impressed if even half of it actually happens. At this point, I don't think anyone could be blamed for being skeptical. I remember when the rumor about the Monsters, Inc. coaster was that it would be a re-theme of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. But that was always too high-thrill a ride for that to be a really good fit for a family property like Monsters, Inc. People are talking about replacing MuppetVision and Star Tours, but I'm wondering if the idea is really to gut Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and use the show building (in which case it'd be way up on Sunset Boulevard). I heard that they mentioned the Radiator Springs Racers-like ride having a somewhat higher thrill level with some kind of drop, which immediately reminded me of Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea (it uses the Radiator Springs/Test Track system but has a not-very-steep, ~50-foot dark drop at the end). I wouldn't expect it to be on that scale, though--Journey uses the gigantic Mount Prometheus structure.
I feel like we’re seeing the end of cohesive theming at the non-castle Disney parks as they pivot to include more recognisable IP and struggle to shoehorn those into the overall theme of the parks. It feels like this was the ideas behind the renaming of Walt Disney Studios in Paris, I can totally imagine them renaming California Adventure at some point too, since nothing announced today (the expanding avengers campus, Avatar and Coco) has anything to do with California really. It’s also interesting that Indiana Jones and Encanto don’t really fit with Animal Kingdom and Monsters Inc getting a land at Hollywood studios (potentially replacing muppets) is also shifting away from the premise of those parks too.
Thankfully them switching to Tropical Americas instead of Moana/ Zootopia at least sticks to the theming of DAK better! It seems like some parts of that new land aren’t even based on IP, but rather the theme, which is a step in the right direction thematically!
@@josiahgoes9633 see I don’t mind zootopia for Animal Kingdom, it’s one of a handful of Disney properties that are literally all about animals. They could have just stuck to these IPs there like Lion King, Bugs Life, Jungle Book, Zootopia etc.
@@willmichael138 I don't mind it either, but originally they were going to change Dinosaur to Zootopia and add a Moana log flume directly across. I don't see how those could exist in the same land. That seemed like they were just adding in IP for the sake of adding it in. I'm just responding to what you said yourself about cohesive theming at non-castle parks. DAK seems to be maintaining cohesive theming. Can't say the same about the rest, especially DHS and DCA...
With Epic Universe comkng along, Disney feels the urge to keep doing stuff. The problem is that they're compromising the storytelling of each park just to cram up as many new attractions as possible. They weren't even sure they wanted to do a Villains Kingdom until Universal announced Dark Universe
What will become of the shuttered Stitch attraction in Tomorrowland? The Monster's Inc. attraction space could also be repurposed. Perhaps the new Car's attraction could go there. It would seem out of place in Frontierland.
He actually said at the open...."Everything is active development...that means plans are drawn...this means dirt is moving...this isn't blue sky"....I would argue he lied considering NOTHING at WDW has dirt moving.
It also means stick works. GPS the site, taking heights. Setting flags. Getting permits and architectural plans complete. Getting a budget and construction contractors. Ride systems ordered. Start making the props for the cue. Plenty of things to do before “moving dirt” if you are moving dirt you are atleast 2 years into it. But I’m only an engineer. What do I know 🤷🏽♂️
Despite the Cars attraction and the Zootopia attraction, WDW has a lot of great stuff coming in the near future! I'm most excited for the Monsters Inc. roller coaster because the concept art looks really cool. As for Disneyland, like you said, a Walt Disney animatronic has been long overdue, so I'm glad it's finally happening. Also, I love boat rides, so I'm looking forward to the Coco ride coming to DCA. Overall, DCA needs more love and care, so I'm glad imagineers are working on that. I just hope the park tickets won't be gigantically more expensive by the time these projects finish.
If I ever start a new life in California, I will attend D23 every year. I will mostly be witnessing the premieres of movies of all sorts in Hollywood, Los Angeles and work at Pixar in Emeryville. I'll also try not to miss a lucky chance of attending Disneyland.
This D23 was huge. They listened to what the community has been saying since the last one. Some amazing developments on the way and I for one am very excited. Thanks for your coverage, Jack.
Villans land has no date of construction. Its just said they want to make it happen but its not confirmed whether its finally going to happen. Once they file permits and start building then it's happening
My thought on the Encanto attraction's ride system would be the HoloTile tech, in the debut video it showed how it would work with sitting in a chair and Bruce said "Casita has magically brought furniture to life which feels like individual benches independently moving around rather than a single big ride vehicle with multiple rows. It just makes sense to me for theming purposes.
what happened to all the energy they were putting behind epcot ??? the bar announcement is equivalent to adding a new bench when you compare it to what the other parks are getting…
The Villians Land is also smart for families with small children, because I know as a kid, I was praying we didn't run into a villian walk-around character. I was terrified of them!
The Cars Ride looks more like a better version of tomorrowland speedway with the amount of racers and mostly outdoor parts. Hopefully this means its replacing the speedway and we get a better ride in its place.
Thanks Jack for great videos as always! Amazing stuff being announced, can't wait! Would have hoped for more attractions in Disneyland Paris, as it's a park with great potential! Would like to see an attraction with Kuzco, perhaps the "pull the lever Kronk" and then go down a roller coaster themed like the movie, could be a fun idea.
While I am upset about losing Dinoland in favor of Tropical Americas, I do have a theory regarding the Encanto attraction. We haven't heard anything in terms of Animal Enclosures for Tropical Americas. What if, much like Kilimanjaro's Safari, they might try to integrate actual animals into the attraction? Obviously, they would have to take into consideration the safety of both the guests & animals. I'm asking this question because IMHO it would be kind of pointless to re-theme Dinoland into Tropical Americas & not feature any of the diverse array of animals native to Central/South America. Disney's Animal Kingdom is kind of lacking in genera from Central/America; a few already present in the park are the Giant Anteater, Parrots, etc. So the park could benefit by including a few other notable taxa (depending on their availability) such as Jaguars, Capybaras, Tapirs, Boas, Anacondas, Iguanas, Toucans, Coatimundis, Spectacled Bears, Llamas, Bush Dogs, Maned Wolves, Rheas, Caiman, Amphibians, Bugs, etc.
Avatar: The Way of Water Will be where Hollywood Land is now so Disney Animation,Turtle Talk with Crush, Hyperion Theater,Mickey's PhilharMagic, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! Coco Boat Ride will be where Goofy's Sky School, Paradise Garden Grill, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta Disney’s Hollywood Studios I think will be where animation courtyard so Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Disney Junior , Star Wars Launch Bay Villains Land I think could go back of the Haunted Mansion and Tom Sawyer's Island Cars Coming to Frontierland in the back of Thunder Mountain or Tom Sawyer's Island
So how much of this $60 Billion ‘turbocharging’ is going towards those new cruise ships? Only thing that surprised me in the announcements was the Monsters Inc land. WDW needs MORE. Wonders of Life is still vacant. Spaceship Earth still needs its refurb. Imagination is still a mess. Still no Poppins in UK pavilion. No Stitch replacement. Hollywood Studios is most likely replacing attractions. Animal Kingdom will still only have NINE total rides after the Tropical Americas are finished. Here’s hoping destination D23 next year announces more for the flagship resort.
The Disney parks, as with any theme park will perpetually be in a state of needing more. The announcements made are spectacular and I too am excited to see if we get announcements for the things you mentioned in future D23's

Thanks for the amazing break down as always, Jack! You are a legend!
The Disney company should make more theme parks with Snow White castles and stuff
Yay, I was waiting for this! Thank you for being amazing as always, Jack!
In regard to Disney building outdoor attractions in WDW, there are many dry days here in Florida. Of course it is currently our rainy season. But non summer months are in fact quite dry in which we are classified to be in drought conditions quite often.
9:45 Stark Flight looks like they are just reusing the old Epcot Innonventions Sum of All Thrills stationary attraction
I think it's smart
I miss innoventions and sum of all thrills they were both really fun

Un Poco Loco from Coco was included in Mickey's Philharmagic show in the Magic Kingdom behind Cinderella Castle as Donald tried to salvage an orchestra detail. If Coco got a sequel, it will show Miguel witnessing a Cinco de Mayo fiesta planning and his cousin Rosa's quinceanera on a tight schedule before going on a world tour with a mariachi band and a girl his age, leading the band and on the way, stopping and destroying the elusive Chupacabra.
When its built ill believe it!
The frames of McQueen training with Cruz like Doc Hudson did with McQueen inspired me to create custom framed masterpieces for all over.

In What episode?
@@Tom_Morrow1994 i think it was the 2nd to last episode of season 2
Thrilled to hear about the villans land ❤
What a magnificent coverage and I didn’t finish the video yet! Great job.
Still holding out for Disneyland's Tomorrowland and Imagination, as well as Spaceship Earth refurbishments at some later date
thanks so much for staying up late to make this re-cap for us
Jack thanks for always keeping us informed. Watching this from the Polynesian on our last day of our family vacation
I think this new Cars Land would best fit in Walt Disney Studios Paris, next to Cars Road Trip. There is a massive space they could use and it would perfectly continue the World of Pixar. I'd love that so much but what do I know...
@-dtuyhnjhggvjjjn Cars Road Trip est une attraction temporaire. Elle a même disparue du nouveau concept-art officiel des Walt Disney Studios.
I really hoped Animal Kingdom would have a Lion King dark ride
D23 Expo 2025 | HUGE Disney Parks Expansions - Monsters Inc. Land, Walt Disney AA, Incredibles Land 👾
I will wait and see and get excited after it takes 5 yrs to build a scaled back version of whatever they promised. I am so sick of construction walls. Why aren't they just making another park? universal has the right idea
Disney Villain's kingdom is the best, and they better get it right. Build an attraction where all of them are represented.
I live in California.I'm not impressed at all Very disappointed
The big additions to DCA are too similar...both Marvel and Avatar are essentially sci-fi fantasy and appeal to a similar core demographic. So weird to concentrate their expensive investments all on a demographic that probably would rather be playing video games anyway.
You have a disappointing castle and BTM, plus Small World looks old inside and the weather gives you heatstroke, the locals might shoot you. What's so great about California??
Nice job summarizing all of this especially including concept art graphics…this D23 presentation was literally all over then map!
Excited for Villian's Land, just hope they don't get rid of Rivers of America or the Liberty Square Rverboat.
I think it will be an expansion just behind all of that.
I can’t wait to see Monstropolus and villain land as I live closer to Disney world and that Indiana jones ride looks amazing too
Thanks for staying up late Jack! I am most excited about Villains Land. I could live without the Stark Flight Kuka Arm attraction.
Now. Let’s see if they actually stick with it
I will say I am surprised that they aren’t putting out a new inside out attraction somewhere in Walt Disney World especially where they had the wonders of life pavilion just get it all out and make it inside out
They are refurbishing Test Track in Epcot currently. Don’t chase past D23 projects as they are most likely shelved.
@@eddierodriguez7178 And you think what they announced is going to compete with a new theme park? hahahahaha!!!! Good one!
I think with the construction lasting so long in EPCOT, they are going to give some much needed attention to other areas that need it and revisit EPCOT at a later date. I imagine they still want to do the Spaceship Earth refurbishment.
20:06 I strongly agree with this. Zootopia really doesn't make sense in Animal Kingdom. I sincerely hope they change their mind somehow.
Thank you Jack! You are awesome and do great work!
I've been burned by Disney announcements so many times- I'll believe these things are coming when they go vertical.
@DSNYNewscast Jack, as of Monday, August 12th, 6:30 PST, youtube says this video is 32 on trending! Congrats! Your hard work has paid off!
I wouldn’t mind if the Monsters Inc roller coaster replaced Star Tours, although i’d prefer that it replaced Star Wars Launch Bay.
Thanks Jack for your great coverage and giving us the information. Keep up the good work. 👍
Monsters INC door ride sounds so exciting as does the Lion King land. I just hope it is more for the animated movie than the live action
They knew they’d have to compete with Dark Universe
And will fail!

Still go to epic universe why would you wait for disney
@@vehanushvosganian9966 $$$ airfare and lodging are a lot for a family!
I'll be impressed if they can manage to build a new hot dog stand.
I’m excited about almost every single project. The only thing i’m not really excited about is Avatar at California Adventure.
I agree, I've never met anyone who likes this movies. So weird how they've made so much money!
Ya the renaming of DCA is quite inevitable. Probably saved for 2026.
With Epic Universe comkng along, Disney feels the urge to keep doing stuff. The problem is that they're compromising the storytelling of each park just to cram up as many new attractions as possible. They weren't even sure they wanted to do a Villains Kingdom until Universal announced Dark Universe
As Hollywood Studios fan #1, super excited on that monsters inc land hoping they don’t wait too long into 2025 until they start to build it
What will become of the shuttered Stitch attraction in Tomorrowland? The Monster's Inc. attraction space could also be repurposed. Perhaps the new Car's attraction could go there. It would seem out of place in Frontierland.
Jack, thanks for your hard work. You are the first video out that is not a live stream regarding d23 🎉
Perhaps they are taking the racing part of Test Track away since Radiator Springs is opening in MK
What do I know 🤷🏽♂️
@@Atyomommahouse-p2m right but to me that means MOST of what were announced won’t be open till 28-30
Another account said that the press was told everything will be completed within 5 years
Exactly!
@@ruthie2081 right that means by 2029/30....Epic Universe will take 4 years to build when complete.
Jack, you’re a real one for staying up all night and creating and uploading this by this morning
Latest technology will empower Imagineering to create a Walt animatronic who smokes, just like the real Walt.
Yet still won’t let us smoke at the parks
That’d be a vibe
give it chatgpt and we're close to having an actual walt clone to run the company again (this is satire but see this comment in 50 years)

VILLAINS LAND SHOULD HAVE THE BLACK CAULDRON RIDE AGAIN
Villains will be the coolest and most different thing for Disney to do.
Avatar: The Way of Water Will be where Hollywood Land is now so Disney Animation,Turtle Talk with Crush, Hyperion Theater,Mickey's PhilharMagic, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
Coco Boat Ride will be where Goofy's Sky School, Paradise Garden Grill, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta
Disney’s Hollywood Studios I think will be where animation courtyard so Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Disney Junior , Star Wars Launch Bay
Villains Land I think could go back of the Haunted Mansion and Tom Sawyer's Island
Cars Coming to Frontierland in the back of Thunder Mountain or Tom Sawyer's Island
