    The Solar Night Vision is the pick of the bunch in terms of being very slim on the wrist and remarkably accurate. My example is running comfortably within 15 seconds per year, which is remarkable for a free running quartz movement that has not been specially set up. The lume is visible all night with dark adjusted vision. The strap is a bit of a pain to resize with the links being held by pins with a spring collar at each end which need to be set against the middle link. Easy once you know how and with a suitable cheap tool, but a bit of a nightmare if you haven’t done it before. The solar movement is also the cheapest of the three models, so something of a bargain if you can get an additional discount.

    Great video Ivan, really good to see all 3 models together. They look awesome but It'd have to be the Samurai for me.

      Agreed. The Samurai really is the best looking night vision model.

    A friend of mine bought the solar one and I have to say that the whole line up is really interesting. Probably I prefer the first black line edition but these green indexes are very attractive. Nice pieces.

    Will the bracelet from the SNE587P1 fit the SRPH97K1 ?

    I purchased the King Samurai model, recently and is being shipped to me currently. This would be my 3rd and mostly like final Seiko Samurai. I already have the first black model Samurai SRPB55, gave it the King Samurai treatment and added a sapphire crystal with magnifier cyclops. I also have it on a Crown and Buckle chevron nato. Also have the SRPE57, white Samurai on a Crafter Blue rubber strap. Both look amazing. Might be swapping out the OEM rubber strap on the SRPH97, if there's too much over hang (6.5inch wrist). But haven't worn this newer OEM rubber strap it's coming in. I posted photos of my 2 other Samurai's on Watch Crunch. On a side note, I also purchased the Christopher Ward, C63 Sealander 36mm in green, on a bracelet. So my watch budget is tapped out for the year.

      Tell me about it.. after buying the sla023 my budget is non existent. The samurai that I want is the srph43k but it's Asia limited. Maybe next year I'll manage to grab one. Congrats on your purchases. I've reviewed two Christopher Ward watches before and both were exceptional.

    No, it would not be as good with the notorious 6R35. 4R is better and more consistent. Seiko overcharges for its 6R35 just for its long PR with a compromise in accuracy.

    That solar looks great. But the samurai has all the bling come on🎉 the only thing is it’s on the large side and I prefer 20mm lugs😬 so I’m torn between the solar and the Sammy!!😩😡

      @TheBoldHairspring  Рік тому

      I'd go with the Samurai but simply because I like bigger watches.

    I like the turtle but I'm not a fan of the land tourtise. i'd rather have a real dive bezel. Does anybody know if an aftermarket bezel insert will fit in this new night series?

    I’ve just bought the solar watch for my wife’s birthday….hope she likes it as it’s probably a tad too small for my wrist lol !

    The tortoise models just melt into your wrist. Get it off that stiff factory strap onto a supple one and you will know what a well fitting watch feels like. The tortoise watches are awesome.

    Nice VT. I had the solar Prospex night vision delivered to me yesterday. The watch is a very classy & high quality timepiece. The illumination is the best I've seen on a watch. Even the box the watch comes in is rather snazzy with turquoise edging on smooth matt black. It retails here in the UK for £550 but is currently on offer for £411.99. I had to treat myself even though I don't deserve it. This Seiko will most definitely be my most prized timepiece. I love it! Thanks again for this review & comparison across all 3 pieces. I chose the right one....my wrists are pathetic to say the least.

    Does Tortoise has a ISO dive standard?

    • @Othusdragonreviews
      @Othusdragonreviews 3 місяці тому +1

      no. you need a lume pip to get the ISO certification. as for water resistance, it should hold as well as one.

    • @TheBoldHairspring
      @TheBoldHairspring  2 роки тому +2

      @@marlonnelson6851 there's no compass hand. It works manually. I mean you need to figure out where North is by yourself and then use the compass bezel manually.

    • @marlonnelson6851
      @marlonnelson6851 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheBoldHairspring . Thanks. I finally googled it and found some instruction videos. Basically, holding the watch flat relative to the ground, you point the hour hand at the sun, then rotate the bezel until the south indicator is halfway between the hour hand an the 12 o'clock mark. Not sure how that works at 6 o'clock, though. I guess that late or early in the day, you've basically got east and west figured out, so you can figure it all out.

    Such a downgrade from previous Black Series, Black Series got 6R35 with 70 hours, but this version only last 40 hours.
    Also the price, I able to get one SPD255j1 Black Series for £648, 40% discount from £1080 in UK.
