    I found myself hiking vicariously with you with this footage you provided. I was cold. And the sun felt so good. I found myself recognizing the trail. I've hiked portions. Thank you for filming and sharing the middle!

      @@BackcountryTreks when you booked this, did you book your entire itinerary in advance, or did you have to show up to the backcountry office in person? I think around mid September, most sites become walk-up only.

    • @BackcountryTreks
      @BackcountryTreks  2 місяці тому

      @mikewanders I booked it as soon as the portal opened up early in the season. Had my itinerary together and got the reservation I requested. However, due to excessive bear activity our route was changed a little bit on us. But yes, you have to check in at the ranger station prior to your trip to get your permits. Hope that helps.

    Beautiful - one wish: a bit more info where exactly you are hiking, some of the landmark mountains around Lake Elizabeth, and access route you took to Ptarmigan and back on the High Line Trail. Some of us have become too challenged physically to undertake a long hike like this, but love Glacier and its gorgeous trails (and grizzly thrills) - and are happy to enjoy the trails this way. Great hike!

    Wow, what a trail. I am sure there are pros and cons of doing this in late fall vs. July/August but if feels like the winter weather was just another element of beauty and magesty. Galcier is such a neat place.
    I'm new to your channel Joe, but boy I am looking forward to binging your content!

      @@BackcountryTreks ... Follow up question ... After watching your video I did a Google search on the North Circle Loop ... Most of the webpages that I reviewed said the loop was 52 miles ... What did you add to your trip to make it 60 miles?

    • @BackcountryTreks
      @BackcountryTreks  8 місяців тому +1

      @Colorado_Kkid we went up to Kootenai lake. It added a few miles each direction. It ended up being between 58 and 60 so I rounded up. 😎

    Awsome video dude I aspire to make a camping trip video like this one. How many batteries do you bring with you? And how many times do you recharge? Also do you make ur videos on places you've been before so you have a good Guage on how long it would take with filming or do you just wing it in new locations?

    • @BackcountryTreks
      @BackcountryTreks  5 місяців тому +1

      I use my iPhone 13 and a little jobi gorilla stand. For batteries I bring a 20,000 mah batter bank and that gives me about 4-5 full charges. On shorter trips I bring a 10,000 mah battery. I’m always playing around with ways to shoot and trying to learn new things! Thanks for the kind words and for watching!🍻🍻

    Can you get a permit for this trail fairly easy ?

    • @BackcountryTreks
      @BackcountryTreks  4 місяці тому

      Depends on the time of year. Late season when we went I’d say yes it’s pretty easy. But busy season obviously a different story. Regardless I’d get permits way ahead of time if possible.
