#80 Cruising along the massive River Trent (wow!) and then onto the narrow Trent & Mersey canal.

After the trials and tribulations of the Erewash canal, the massively wide Trent felt like an ocean cruise! Really enjoyable being on it, and following it to the junction with the Derwent and the Trent & Mersey canal.
Lynda used to live in Aston upon Trent and we moored near there and walked into the lovely village - along with the excellent pub!
Very nice to be out in rural Derbyshire.
Some lovely places on the way and finally we moored up just after Burton on Trent where we'd hoped to visit the highly rated Brewing Museum. Unfortunately though, this closed permanently in November 2022 - which was a real disappointment.
