Worked at US Army Kwajalein Atoll (aka USAKA) from 92 to 96. In 1995 a friend of mine who was stationed in Kwajalein told me about this. It sounded almost unreal. It must have been amazing to see in person. The same friend told me the next day engineers and scientists would visit the targets which were just concrete pads with a large “X” painted in the middle. Sometimes there would be a hole about 30 feet from the X and some engineering cursing while was saying something like “I thought we fix that problem!”
