Best setting is missing ( Panasonic style "LEVER LOCK")

Thank you for this. I just upgraded to the A9iii (from a Canon 90D). I mainly do sports photography of competitive firearms sports (most of my work is on my Flickr page “same name as my UA-cam channel”) and this camera is going to do amazing in that venue. For the last year I have been venturing into studio/on-location shooting with off-camera flash. I currently have three Flashpoint (Godox) lights (600pro, 400pro, and 300pro) and I have been doing some testing of these lights with the sync adjustments in the camera (starting at 1/256 power on the lights) and seeing where I need the sync adjustments to be set as I climb up the shutter speeds to either beat the sun or under-expose the background (which I did set the quick “C” button on the top left of the camera like you detailed in your other video about your A9iii setup). Have you done a spreadsheet or anything similar testing Flashpoint (Godox) lights and where our flash sync settings need to be at the different power levels and shutter speeds? Thank you again for the videos.

Jason, Natalie is big on the ethical part of journalism which is great. Did she talk to you about the equipment she uses? Not the brands etc. but she obviously has to have a small footprint so does she just carry a backpack with on camera flash (when she uses flash)? I was just curious because I am sure she is not pulling a "wedding wagon" with light stands etc LOL. Thanks for the interview.

I would ask what's a better way to display landscape video along with portrait photos. I hate having blank space above and below. I've seen people show 3 videos at once. Do you have any templates for those situations?

Still one of the best videos regarding GS and flash use I came across. I would love to see the actual flash power setting on a Global shutter camera that matches the HSS output at max setting (1/1). I suspect if the end of the plateau output is at 1/4 power and it’s 3-stop brighter, then you just need to set the flash at 1/32, a huge power save. Also because the nature of GS is to receive only a slice of the total output, having a faster flash duration at max power might be beneficial.

пробовал на ad200 с насадкой r200 и есть одна большая проблема, r200 не поддерживает HSS, а в обычном режиме не стыкуется с синхроимпульсом, соответственно получаем абсолютно черные кадры на выдержках от 1/750 и короче (настройка времени вспышки не помогает, если что), имейте ввиду если надумаете себе такое взять. С родной головой проблем никаких всё как часики..

Awesome video, perfectly explained. Question, Which flash has more power, the Godox AD 1200 Pro, or the Elinchrom ELB 500 TTL and wichone you prefer?

Great explanation Jason. Many people are getting really confused. I also find this useful for party photos when the DJ lights are too strong. So I can use a faster shutter speed to kill that ambient light and use my flashes to have some nice lighting.

Those were some great images. I had to pause the video so I could look at them individually. I do have a question though and I thought it would be better here and not get lost in the shuffle. In a video you did forTaylor Jackson for off camera flash. You talked about a gel for your flash, it was not a CTO but you called it a straw filter. I looked for this but could only find things like 1/4 and 1/2 staw but nothing else. Do you know of a better description of this gel?

Looks more like holiday photos. Hard to focus on subject when everything is in focus. It's a "no" from me too

Yea that's a no from me. You can tell it's from a smartphone. Great angles but if I pay for a wedding photographer they better have a minimum of a Sony a6600 or a7ii.

If that's what the client payed for then - there's no problem here.

Amazing one, I also like using Xperia for different moods and situations. It's great having great photos with small sensors. Still, Sony could and users should contact with digital areas where it can improve a lot in regard to sharpness and noise reduction. It's best in good light among all other manufacturers, but low light and small sensors - that needs some magic. I like that magic... Good work!

More than + 2 exposure correction in post .... why don't you use a flashmeter at the shooting ? ... ?

Hi - how did you add your gel? Presumably, the AD1200's bulb is protruding through the mount where the gels would click in

I got my 42 and strip box yesterday with all the accouterments. I'll be moving into a new studio in a week so I have most of my lights packed up but I did just try to open the strip. Nightmare! Every time I pushed down on the ring, two of the arms would pop out of socket! Did yo run into this at first? It had me thinking that box was unusable if I had to go through that whenever I needed it. I did finally more or less get the hang of it. It was just very particular about how you open it. The old design was much easier but hopefully with use, I'll get better at it.

Does the Bowens mount adapter work with ad400 pro?

I want mines now
