Like any real Café the Motorcycle Café UA-cam channel menu has plenty of variety. The channel includes pretty much anything motorcycle related, from well researched motorcycle documentaries to information on road bike maintenance, bike trailers, trikes and sidecars plus some other non-serious videos just for a bit of fun!

Whoa ... amazing lines and curves at 00:20 ... the bike looks nice too
My 400/4 was such a nice handler, too bad it couldn't keep up with traffic. I was always ringing its neck.
Nope. It's V-Twin.
Fully agree with you! Have had my red ‘93 M900 since 1996, and it still ticks all the boxes. It’s like the perfect mistress, great looking, even better sounding, not too expensive to run, and absolutely timeless. Added a yellow ‘94 900SL to my humble stable some 5 yrs later, equally beautiful and fun. They’re all I want in my bike-mind. Both still bog-standard, and in perfect shape. Maybe an early RnineT next to both Ducs? I must be getting old.
@@bramboer727 you mean to tell me you are still running the stock pipes?
You got me there. The Monster runs open aluminium pipes (Boss if I remember correctly) from virtually day one.
@@bramboer727 Ha, thought so.
They’re aluminium open Laser pipes, not Boss.
It’s the handling of the bike ( bonneville) that made it so good. The later oil in frame was much maligned, but 1972 onward was better as it was stiffer. The single carb version ( triumph tiger) was a better every day bike and better off road due to its higher torque sacrificing a little bhp. The later 750 versions vibrated more and has little advantage.
Burt is a legend here in the States. Awesome video man
@@DrMurdercock thank you buddy !
Always keep in mind; the most revolutionary designs never come to market. Fuel mileage remains unchanged since the 1920's for a marketing reason. Engine manufacture and petroleum production is a partnership. This thing would have screamed, making four stroke engines look like dogs. So would have the Kawasaki square 4.
Got ma Ls on a CB 125, bit later model though.
Was that the Flapper model? Bet she purred like a kitten.
Oh, and I just realised your vids are about motorbikes. I guess one of the bikes finally distracted me from those gorgeous models.

A mate has CX 500 turbo. He loves it. I thought they were awesome when I was a teenager back in the early 80s.
@@Thelivewire64 thats because at that time they were awesome, I thought the same back then!
In my opinion the fairing had some disadvantages: in warmer conditions, your feet got really warm due to the cooling air from the cilinders. It was possible to remove the lower part of the fairing, but that took quite some time and it did not improve the "looks". Secondly: depending the position of your head, the fairing could cause quite some noise due to turbulence. And there was no possibilty to adjust the airstream in any way. The fairing, having no air vents, even created a vacuum in front of the rider. But in cold, rainy conditions, this was an extremely comfortable bike for long distances.
You are right about the MV if we think of bog-stock FIM-viable competition machinery, otherwise CB750 & Z1. Good point.
@@jackwood2328 thanks buddy its all a tad subjective of course. But by todays standards yes.
It also had a chrome bore! I used Golden Spectro. Smoothe was the word. It didn't smoke much and ran very well.
I remember reading about that Yamaha 4-cylinder machine in 1971, when I was a teenager. It looked fantastic, and the styling is modern even today. In the end Suzuki came up with a more viable solution, and produced the awesome GT750, one of my favourite bikes of all time. I'd sure want to buy one of those, if I can find one in good shape.
Mean. I have a 72 RD350a in those same colours. This would have been twice as amazing of an engine.

You might just have missed the cheapest of all: the 1990s Kawasaki GPZ 1100. Basically a ZZR 1100 but cheaper and lighter, luggage no problem, faired. Quick bike. Rare, not sure if it was a Europe only model, but its way lighter and faster than the GTR. Not shaft driven, very reliable. Incredibly cheap in the UK as a used buy. If you want shaft drive, the Yamaha 900 is unburstable, but down on power vs other tourers.
Not wrong about the 90s what a bike. Had one and it really did like to cruise close to top speed all day long.IIRC they placed well a couple times in the Castrol six hour back in the day
@@collyernicholasjohn pretty sure an old 1000 Beemer won the 6hr in the late 70-s

The Summer of '72 when I was 8 years old, 2 older kids in the neighborhood had an 8 HP Clinton engine in a minibike (3½ HP stock) from what I think was out of a manhole ventilator ripped off from a construction site where the street 2 blocks from me was being repaired. It had no clutch, (direct drive) no brakes, (compression stalling the engine) no seat, (plywood with heavy gauge plastic dropcloth upholstery stapled to it), and no accelerator (just the throttle plate lever slip-knotted to the top bar. WOT or nothing). A Frank Zappa-looking dude (no proof of he was actually him or not. DAMN IT TO HELL! lol! 🤣)was taking a turn on it as I was riding my bike up to him asking if I could take a turn, too. I was cracking 50 MPH witin 3 blocks up, and back sooner than I had gotten on the damned thing with the wind in my hair 'tho I had no hair sporting a Quo Vadis haircut! lol! 🤣
Wasn’t the triumph adventure first

They were not called widow makers years ago
That is correct I am not sure when the term first started being thrown around, but it wasn't when they were first released it was later.
I think some of the bias against those triples came from they didn't fut into any group. In the 1970s, there seemed to be two camps....the two cylinder guys (HD, Triumph, Norton, etc) and the 4 Cylinder riders (Honda 750, Kaw 900, etc). As the two stroke triples were regulated out of existence (I had GT550) 3 cylinder 4 strokes didn't seem to fit in anywhere. The 750 Yamaha triple tried to fill the gap between the 650xs twin and the vMax. If you were poor you rode the hell out of the 650 like I did and if you had more money you got a Max. The 40 year old commuter crowd seemed to be the only ones riding them. The Ducati still had the rep of needing constant tinkering to keep the going (rotary valves). There was no internet so parts for Ducati and the guzzies were not a click away. Even as AMF was trying to kill off Harley you could get parts readily....you did need them. As the British brands were dying out there were still alot of small shops around. Utter reliability wasn't as important as it is today. Shy of tearing the engine apart could do most of the wrenching yourself which was a big part of the ritual of the times. Fifty years and pushing 400,000 miles bike miles later this is how I recall it.
There is a 660 tiger also, it has the same engine as my trident.
You left out BMW
Yes but I've covered BMW's in many other videos on the channel.
This is awesome!! While I'm familiar with the gun companies I had no idea they had such close ties to motorcycle history. I have an old 303 No. 4MK1 service rifle and I do enjoy running the "Mad Minute" drill. Takes a few times to get used to firing with your middle finger. I really enjoyed this!! Thank you.
Buddy had a CX650 with over 225.000 miles on it. Still ran but man did it smoke. Bought in new in 83 Gave up the Ghost in 2006
@@jimmyjackass1805 pretty impressive
Kh400 without take off the cylinders or new exhausts is around 40 PS on rear wheel and close to RD 400. With machining of the cylinders and changing exhausts it's close to kawasaki kz650 with better acceleration. You need some work on the clutch. The gt380 is slower when both are stock. Brakes and handling are okay for me. Only a little work on the fork is needed. If you take care it's durable too!
Great Review Aus!!! Bandit Man here......."BULLETPROOF" Simple as! better Allrounder than the equivalent Honda's in my experience. Better geared and more Torquey engine great for slow end commute type riding my sits perfectly at 40mph at 2k rpm hardly past tick out, great box smooth change when you need it. Brilliant bike. I tried that with Honda CBR and it moaned like hell, rattling on the back. Found it to be more temperamental than my Suzi. Honda still do great bikes no sweat on that. Bandit for me every time! Brilliant bikes. Worse thing Suzuki did in UK was dump the Bandit for the VStrom Monstrosity! Hideous.Bike. Really good review All great bikes. Really interesting. You ride all these bikes yourself instead of all the electronic gadgets. We have all lost the plot. 23k for a BMW? WAW. It still leaves me cold thinking about that. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for the great feedback buddy. In my opinion most so called Adv bikes are hideous LOL. So much so I did a separate video on them.
