Lots of solid advice with explanations, no doubt from years of experience (good & bad), thank you. Soto also make a dual fuel (Butane & Petrol) that is tiny but very effective.
Thank you! The whole series covers pretty much everything about towing. The one on tyres is quite interesting. Theres a maths formula in it for tyre pressures which is 100% acc for any trailer, even caravans.
Thank you, i made this series for no other reason than to help people out and share my knowledge b4 I fall off the old perch. I never expected them to be very popular videos.
@@justobserving4862 just find at least 4 good attachment points, 2 high, 2 low, draw a diagram. Buy some round bar steel and a pipe bender and gradually bend it to shape. You'll need a very good welder. Getting the correct height of the tow ball or connection is the hardest part
Your comment that the hitch should never be attached to the axle is good. Ask CanAm why they did this (trailer towbar attached through the back axle). It is also illegal according to ADR's. Have broken the drawbar one trailer already.
@@motorcyclecafe Well, once I had a Goldwing overtake me doing about 70Mls. and a short while later he was in the ditch with all his equipment strewn accross the highway, so you have to watch your speed.

Good I'm glad you found the info useful. Hopefully I will save a life or two.

Its crazy, you wouldn't tow a trailer connected to the diff of a car, nobody would.
Does Jim Gow (Old Guy On A Bike) know you're using his footage of his trailer coming loose?
@@dwarven1 yep he sure does. He is a good bloke and a good channel.
@@motorcyclecafe that he is; got to meet him a few weeks ago. He's riding a GL1500 Gold Wing these days.
@@motorcyclecafeLove seeing past mistakes become learning lessons. Good advice on this video.
@@OldGuyonaBike shouldn't you be out riding mate. Cheers

Wher I live your only allowed to go 40 miles per hour with a trailor.
WHAT? How stupid is that law!

Pulling a trailer is a bad idea unless designed specifically for that bike.
how much experience do you have on the subject to make that statement
What can you do differently to say a trailer is designed for a specific bike? Other than weight limits I can think of NOTHING.
There is nothing other than weight limits.
