Great video...
Thank you and thanks 4 watching!
🤤 looks yummy.. maybe both touristy and convenient 😅
Yes can be both!
Greetings JR and Mrs C, Georgetown looks nice with selection of fair priced eating, loved your scenic views. I always find swastikas in temples ironic. Bring on Ipoh 😋👏🏿🥰
Ya the swastika had/has been around a way lot longer than the Psycho German who made it a horrible symbol. Its origins go back to the Greeks and has been used by many civilizations. It is used still to mark Buddhist temples on maps in many countries including Japan
Enjoying your travels. Keep on enjoying your “sleeping and eating “ your way through Asia! 😁
Thanks Gunny! Travel Eat Sleep Repeat is not a bad way of life!
My dad was stationed at Clark from 1973 - 1976. Such great memories. I was in middle school at the time.
Thanks 4 watching and thanks to your Dad and your family for serving!
whats up J R its me. My wife would love those temples. Keep em coming.
Thanks Shayne! Take her to Thailand, temples galore
Sir JR, what site do you use for your condo, hotel bookings? I use Agoda…Ed
Same Ed for hotels but I usually use AirBnB for long term stays in condos
@@FOCUSonASIA13 thanks
Thanks for the video, well once again, I'm regretting not getting any mainland TDY's but did travel a lot in the PI and Korea. I always got the pleasure of paying about 50% more than the local rate but WTH, I KNOW it bothered the in-laws a lot more than me ! What a weird thing love is, yet it touched my heart for the rest of my life ! Thanks again JR, this one was another positive "vibe". Always with the positive waves man, dig it ! ✌
Thanks John, always try to keep it positive!
Great Video! Thanks for the tour...👍👍
Thanks for watching BK!
🇵🇭😎🇵🇭
Thanks Adrian
There is always stairs...
Yes indeed, stairs, stairs, stairs haha
Never thought about going there, but I have second thoughts now. Great video.
A visit to Kuala Lumpur would be first then Georgetown or Melaka for a 2nd stop would be my recommendation
Cool Video!
Thanks man
That temple and pagoda are truly impressive and so are those carved columns. I never really thought about going to Malaysia before but I believe you and miss Cecelia just added that country to my wish list of places to visit. Thanks for the video and take care you two !
Thanks Robert! Malaysia is an interesting country many contrasts
Life goals right here!
Get her done Platinum!
Well done Sir, i like your strategy, hope it works for you
Well its not working but that's OK LOL
@FOCUSonASIA13 well thanks for the update, I won't follow you on that one then LOL
Whats up J R its me. Never been to Malaysia. Food looked great. Be safe out there. Keep em coming.
Its here waiting for you Shayne, visit KL first!
You're in Penang and bought McDonalds!!? ...lost me !
LOL OK realax, its just McDonalds for 1 meal out of like 18
Nice video! Gosh, I miss those food so much. 😂
Thanks Qiang! Safe travels as always!
Havent had time to watch this yet but i will.
thanks man
Great stuff JR and Mrs C, all of that grub looked good, think I would’ve avoided the McD’s , hotel studio looked good value, can’t wait to see footage outside👍🏿🥰🍷
Thanks Paul, the McDos always sucks me in when in other countries haha
Another great video full of yum yums, tell Miss Cecilia not to talk so much.😂
LOL ya she just won't stop it's crazy
I order Grab every day here in Bangkok for breakfast or lunch. Cheap and delicious.
Yes the grab there has some good selections and like you mentioned pretty cheap. We get back to Bangkok on the 6th if you'd like to grab some lunch on day
@@FOCUSonASIA13 We will be in Chiang Mai and back on the 14th of August.
@@Robmar40 OK man we will be there, we head to Chiang Mai towards end of August
@@FOCUSonASIA13 Ok. great.
Food court #2, looks better than #1. Bakery looked great, but i need my brewed black coffee to survive the day. The Dim Sum place would probably be our “go to”. Glad to hear Miss C dish tasted like Adobo. Important for my wife. I never been Malaysia. Great title.
Thanks Gunny! I would recommend Kuala Lumpur for first time visit
Very informative, you are the man. Go Red Sox!
I don't know about the man stuff but definitely go Sawx! They blew the 2nd game of the Skankees series the other day but that's OK pretty sure we still have them in the season series so far
making me hungry every time I watch your channel... I need some dumplings in my life
The dumplings were fantastic
😂I agree😂😂❤
Great video 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Royse!
Every time I see food on a banana leaf, I think of birthdays, baptisms, quinceañeras', and of course good old pancit ! Thanks for the tour JR, that's a great price for such a well equipped room. How many floors are in that building ? I'd have to haggle for something closer to the ground myself, but its still a sweet deal.
Thanks John, LOL the heights get to me as well, if i lived in a building like that would need to be a lower floors. Not sure on # of floors but it was one of, if not the tallest building in that area
Ok, JR was not real impressed with the first food selection, lol...but WOW, everything after that looked amazing. I bet the first one was probably amazing but not a seafood fan.. Man looks yummy. Thanks for sharing
Delicious food choices for everyone! Thanks Mike
Totally worth $53 dollars a night. You gotta be comfortable and have time to unwind.. when you travel so you can feel at home and enjoy! Nice place! Great view too.
Thanks Mark , wait until you see what we got for $30 a night in Kuala Lumpur, for the money, biggest and probably nicest place we have stayed in
Spot at Gurney looked the best to me but it all looked tasty except McDonald’s burgers. Their chicken looked okay. Enjoy your food videos!
I am a glutten for McDonald's punishment LOL I like to see what each country has to offer there and then I regret eating it haha
A food tour for sure!!! :). Was just there two months ago,.. How time flies
Heeeey a Daz comment, thanks brother! If you have never been to Malacca, give that a try next time. We are here now and so far thinking maybe liking it better than Georgetown
@@FOCUSonASIA13 haven't been there yet. It was on my list for last trip.... Just ran out of time. Going on the next trip. I enjoy Malaysia more and more each time i go. Just can't get any pork dishes unless you in the big city 555
Exactly and pork is #1 in my book. I am still not big on Malaysia but KL this trip was fun and Malacca good so far. I don't think I will hit Georgetown any more. To get to Malacca from KL you take 2 hr train to Pulau Sebang Tampin then its 1 hour grab ride or if coming from Singapore its like 4 hr bus ride. We are taking bus to Johor Bahru next like 3.5 hours then crossing over to Singapore after couple nights
@@FOCUSonASIA13 Malacca was in my list the last two trips ... But just didn't happen ;). Oh well, i still enjoyed, that's all the counts. Going to try and hit it first next time, that way I'll get it in. Malaysia is a lot cheaper than Thailand in a lot of ways, even the grab taxi is so cheap! But i do miss pork dishes when I'm there!(But doesn't hurt to go without for awhile) And English is every where there. I need to explore more of the islands and diving
Always appreciate highlighting hotel accommodations. It really helps other travelers.
Thanks, always try to give some insight although as you know prices change all the time especially between low and high season
Do you prefer Penang over BKK or is it basically equal . Using your housing, restaurant and transportation cost what one would be cheaper
Cannot compare the two as Georgetown is a smaller city not even close to size and convenience of Bangkok. I would not live in Georgetown but would live in Bangkok. Food cost is cheap in Georgetown but does not have the selection Thailand has.
Thanks for adding the flight costs Focus. Never considered Panang before, was always thinking Kuala Lumpur.
If you never been, then yes, stick with Kuala Lumpur, I like KL much better and now we are in Malacca and that may move ahead of Georgetown as well
Very reasonable costs, especially that condo for $53/night considering how nice and clean it is ! Never thought I'd ever see a spicy cookie but apparently that combo works :) I hope they find a way to put those old buildings to good use. Thanks for the video JR and keep 'em coming please. Take care !!!
Thanks Robert, some of the old buildings I think unfortunately will remain unused, just don't see too much investment and improvement going on in Malaysia except in KL. Spicy choco chip cookies were very good and spicy
Excellence Video and Narration
Thanks Dan, appreciate that
I really wanted to make it up there, I was just so content in KL I never wandered very far...
You chose wisely, KL is much better for food choices and such. We are in Malacca now and think we like it better than Georgetown as well. Georgetown is a fun one time visit we've been twice now and this 2nd time wasn't as fun. Safe travels!
❤
Salamat Mac!
Doesn't look touristy to me. Thanks for another eats video and speaking of eats, looked like that monitor lizard at the beginning of the video had quite a big meal himself :) Hope you two are enjoying your stay in Malaysia ! Take care JR !
That lizard was a small one compared to one we seen later that week same area, maybe his daddy LOL
@@FOCUSonASIA13 I wonder if those lizards end up on the menu in some restaurants as gators do in the US ? 😁
@@roberthertel5565 I haven't seen it but its possible
Nicely done JR and Mrs C,love the parks and scenery in BKK, but most of all the food on offer😋😋👏🏿
Thanks Paul, Bangkok has a lot to offer
whats up J R its me. Damn so many great dishes. Keep em coming.
Thanks Shayne, will do
That was awesome! How many days were you in Thailand? 👍👍
29 nights! Thanks 4 watching!
Are you using cash or cards at these restaurants? Do you have to tip in Thailand?
I only do cash unless its a special occasion fancy western restaurant and then maybe us the card. You do not have to tip but we do as wages in Thailand like rest of Southeast Asia, Singapore excluded, are very low. Most restaurants have a service charge, so check your bill, usually 7.5-10% so we just add a little bit more depending on how the service was.
Nothing wrong with Convenient. Why suffer.
Exactly, touristy places become that way for a reason, something scenic, good food scene, some history or whatever. Asok is very very convenient area to stay. Thanks Gunny
As usual, the food looked very tempting, especially that ziti looking pasta, did you say it was extra spicy ? The thing that impressed me most was the view of town from the sky walk, It looked like a scene from a sci-fi / futuristic thriller. Thanks for posting, how many more are in this road trip series ?
Plenty of videos coming John, we dont get back until November and our videos are behind so I may have content into 2025!
The pasta is not spicy at all but very peppery, black pepper and sharp cheese very flavorful. Pizza at that place is fantastic , crust is delicious
@@FOCUSonASIA13 Sounds good to me !
@@FOCUSonASIA13 The crust is the best part of a pizza, IMHO
@@Mr1990hjc For me as well, makes all the difference
Good stuff JR. I saw a video Paddy did on the Ari Station area. Looks very interesting. Would love to see your take on that area.
Thanks, I will have to check out his video haven't see that one. Not familiar with that area , might have to check it out when we get back to Bangkok
