So many memories and a whole bunch of new and interesting stuff. If I get the finances together, I definitley going. Dream trip start in Okinawa and keep moving north through Japan. Thanks for another great vid
Great video, JR! All those places are so clean , beautiful , peaceful and serene. We sure miss Okinawa. We shared your video with our kids. My grandson would love that park. We will definitely visit those places with them the next time we’re there. Enjoy the rest of your vacation😊 - Jeanie & Edgar -
Another good one JR. That park is unbelievable, but where is everybody ? I would be willing to pay an entry fee to take the kiddos to a place like that ! I remember a lot of barracks rats in England which I always thought was strange, . . . hell, they speak the same language, enjoy the same type of adult beverages etc. It's easy to understand how some super tidy American individuals may not want to risk getting mud on their shoes, or just can't trust girls who really WANT to get close up and personal, but as the old song says, "different strokes for different folks". Maybe I'll figure out the physics of fear some day, but so far NAH, don't want to. Thanks for the trip to Okinawa
It has always been quiet and empty at that park, there are other nice parks as well around the island but that one was one of our favorites. More Okinawa coming John, thanks!
Thanks Gunny, yes I was surprised at how many Okuma changes. Found the put-put golf had moved to the back side so still there. Place looks great though we are gonna spend a few nights there next trip to Oki
Going back to that park must really bring back great memories for you and Miss Cecelia when your kids were little and you almost had that park to yourselves that day :) Thanks for the video JR and take care !!!
Awesome video, thanks for making them. You had some awesome permanent party duty stations. If your wife is like mine I bet she something like “I miss my kids” when you were at that playground. Hope you have a fun and safe trip.
whats up J R its me. Yesssa Sesoko Island. Thanks for the shout out. Okinawa and Sesoko Island looks dead. wheres all the people?. Looks like a very relaxing place to live though. Shoots bro thanks again be safe and take care.
It looks perfect man, what you talking about Willis haha No people is a good thing, that is what I love about there, very quiet, can have a beach to yourself. Once summer comes its crowded with mainlanders.
Here in NC parks like that wouldn't last no time the damn ghetto kids would tear them up. There was one closed near me a few years ago with lots of stuff indoors and outdoor go carts all kind of games......the kids wrecked everything you can't have anything nice these days. They were talking about that express way right before I left Okinawa in 1982 so of course it was the crowded highway 58 to get anywhere. My wife wasn't much for sight-seeing and exploring we missed allot of stuff there we just went locally. Oh I was going to ask if they allowed retired military to shop in overseas BX/Commissary? When I was in England they didn't allow it but that was 1990-91 but I also had a dependent ID card....retired ID card didn't mean shit....lol oh well have fun. cheers :)
Yes Leonard retirees allowed to shop in both BX and commissary in Okinawa. We did plenty at both haha I remember the England thing, went there for work in 2009 as a contractor they wouldn't let me in with my retiree card but then I showed them my orders and was able to shop. Would suck being a retiree there and not able to use your privileges, hence why a lot of older retirees still work on base in England so they can get access. As far as I know its still that way.
@@FOCUSonASIA13 If u ever come to San Diego, check out Petco Park, not far at all from Naval Base San Diego [32nd st]. U retired military? If so, u can get a hotel here on base at the Navy Gateway Suites, NBSD 32nd st, really convenient, close to National City too, alot of Filipino restaurants, bakeries, and super markets..

Nice video JR!! Bring back some good memories - may need to make a trip back one day. Take care
Thanks Bob!
Nice driving footage!
Thanks, I like to keep each little driving segment short, gives the viewer a change instead of a constant drive which tends ot get boring
Did you pass the musical highway? :)
Yes if you are talking about the little speed bumps on the road that make the brrrr sound when you go over them up north
