very nice is the locomotive a kit or scratch built
I really like how that came out!
That looks amazing!
What brand of acrylic paints are you using, and where did you get them from, if you don't mind me asking.
@@charlesd.346 I am embarrassed to say that I used house paint (I buy sample jars of any color I need). At this scale with 24 to 30 inch tall buildings I needed affordable quantities of paint. Satin acrylic house paint.
@TravelinginMiniature I appreciate that very much, no shame at all, the look is authentic.
I really like your layout and plants. Good luck in the coming year.
When I was a kid, it was an O Scale layout.
One of the finest model railway I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to 2025
@@davestrains6816 thanks Dave for the huge compliment. I am looking forward to the projects for the model railroad.
Your beautiful Gn15 railway allows me to travel to Italy on a regular basis. Nothing short of fantastic!
Curious why you did not install them on a curcuit board on top where you can more easily control the dimmers? Thanks for the video
Doesn't that ballpoint ink seep through the paint?
That sounds like a lot of fun - for us and you!
Thank you for sharing your progress video. It is great to see all of the additions and changes you have made. My how much has changed and what improvements you have added. IT is neat to see how your ideas and plans have changed over the years. Everything looks more 'finished' and tied together, I do miss the older bridge with the fishing man and small child scene and hope that it will come back in some form in the future extensions. I am look forward to how you will work out the corner section as that has changed much in the last few years. Keep having fun and enjoying the journey. I love your little village and gain much inspiration for my large scale micro layout. Not many folks work indoors in the bigger scales and it's great to see yours on UA-cam.
@@danielcooper5865 Happy new year Dan! There are always more projects with their challenges. All welcome adventures. I am starting to sketch out some ideas for the extension but first I am going to work on the facade of the building that trains pass under. The lack of detail and crude texture needs some attention. Then I will be working on the adding more to the market scene. Thanks for your ongoing support.
Your Geppetto’s workshop reference brought a smile to my face. There’s an Italian restaurant not far from me called Geppetto’s that is owned by Italians and decorated to the hilt with Pinocchio models and vintage posters. In fact, several years I found a wooden Pinocchio carved in the 1930s that is absolutely gorgeous and a prized find. Can’t wait to see your take on the toy maker’s studio. There’s something for everyone in this little town. Cheers.
Your model railway brings me a lot of joy and inspriration. I wish you a happy New Year, and look forward to seeing your plans unfold.
@@mountainmanpedro thanks Pedro! I am getting a kick out of it. It’s not your typical model railway but it’s fun. Happy modeling,
Big year ahead, looking forward to seeing your progress. Cheers Peter from downunder.
@@greatnorthernrailwaytother4711 thanks Peter. It will be fun making the market scene.
watching this model grow is a delight, the village makes me feel that it is somewhere I would like to go to for a holiday.
@@alangregory1806 it’s pure escapism for me. After falling in love with Italy I just had to have my own replica.
Its such a pity that the Just Plug system is so hideously expensive.
Excellent. A good solution to the coupling difficulties. My problem is that my layout is in N gauge.
Super!!! 👏 Best wishes. 🥂🥂🥂
Thank you and happy holidays
Fun video. Merry Christmas.
Happy new year!
Thank you for such a nice Christmas present. Here's wishing you a Happy Christmas time and a wonderful New Years. May you and yours stay safe and well in the coming year.
Daniel for your year long support. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Nice wedding scene, complete with in-laws ! 😸
Haha!
Ah, and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours. As stated in the past, it's always nice to take trip to your village, but especially now on Christmas morning.
Micheal, Merry Christmas to you and your family. The layout will be expanding so hopefully you will get more to see in the coming year(s).
Love it. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year 🙂
Stephen, Merry Christmas to you and your family. The layout will be expanding so hopefully you will get more to see in the coming year(s).
Merry Christmas to you too. Thanks for your visits to the little fishing village throughout the year. Cheers Peter from downunder.

Merry Christmas! and peace on earth
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas back; thanks for a fantastic implementation of Amalfitano, it feels real
Merry Christmas and thank you for the all the wonderful glimpses into your beautiful little world throughout the year.
Lovely. Merry Cristmas to you and all of the little inhabitants of Amalfitano.
Buon Natale to all my friends in Amalfitano.
The background ding-dong music was annoying
nice! Very inspiring.. I followed Chris Walas tutorials years ago, making figures in a very similar way.. mine all looked like retired boxers ! 🙂
Going to try this, been using the old lights that go to an old style transformer. Do they make "Extension wires" for the lights need about 15 feet from the hub?
Yes there are extended wires. I use some. FYI, try to keep the wires organized because it’s a hornets nest under mine.
@@TravelinginMiniature. Thanks !
Wonderful scene again thanks for sharing it 🙂
Epic, indeed!
as always beautiful as usual... thank you
Ah. Good afternoon. Well, now it looks like an Italian piazza like I remember from my journeys through that country. Very well done Sir, including the scenes and details on the interior. Hats off to you and arrivederci.
More beautiful work.
Are those 6mm miniatures in the background at 4:45 ? If so, that's quite a tonal shift from 1/24 to 1/300! Beautiful church - I love how you weave stories around the whole village so it feels alive and real
Very perceptive, I also wargame. I have a 4x8 wargame table. That game you saw setup is 6mm American Civilian War battle - Antietam.
What to say, you're truly a master builder, in parity with the 0n30-people like Dave Meek and Gary Beatty, but on a larger scale. I really like your buildings. Glad its ready for us to enjoy.
I am honored to be in that group. I have always admired their work. I enjoy the feel and atmosphere they are going for. Thunder Mesa takes a lot of lessons from Walt Disney. While I am just learning I do draw inspiration from Liaka Studios.
That is a huge compliment. I am particularly fond of Tinder Mesa and its Disney influence. I have drawn inspiration from Liaka Studios.
absolutely beautiful as usual... thank you
Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it.
Impressive as always, it was a joy to see another of your videos. I'm scratch building in both 1:148 (British n scale) and 1:35 using ho gauge track to give me a 2' gauge German industrial railway of the 1920's and 30's, which is heavily influenced by your model railway. Each scale comes with ittt's own pleasures and problems, but here is a joy in producing your own buildings.
@@prc789 wow that is so nice of you to write this. It made my day. I hope you share your layout with the rest of us.
The church came about because my da ughter asked where is the church? So I built a church with a wedding couple emerging from the church. It will remind me of my wedding to my supportive wife of all these years.
Try carving those brick courses in ho 1/87 scale. Whole different ballgame.
Even Bocelli can’t get away from the beauty of Amalfitano.
Un paquet Bonbon le sac et plein 😁
I love your channel and your work. Sound is incredible too!
Sorry I missed your comment ( I have had a busy month). Thank you for the kind words. I am a fan of your channel too. I really enjoy the Howard Zane layout visits. His layout setting (and caliber of modeling skill) remind me of John Allen and George Selios. Thanks for the work you do putting out videos.
@TravelinginMiniature thanks and merry Christmas 🎅
Hey! The conductor forgot the tins of pomodori on the platform! LOL
A true work of art. You capture the scenes and culture in a nicely produced video!
Load of work for a coffee.
Fun video. I like the blend of characterization and realistic detail.
