2017 Honda (CR-V/Civic) shifter/cable replacement
Переглядів 13921 день тому
if you're reading this, chances are you're replacing the cable that you broke and there's just no info on it, or maybe you're reading this first, good! 1) do NOT put the impact gun on that shifter nut or you WILL break that ever so sensitive cable, 100%! 2) use 2 wrenches to SLOWLY remove the nut while holding the back of the bolt on the shifter cable. That's it, no expensive cable or extensive...

    We went the wrong direction with the right technology it's shame cause they over complicated some of the easiest tasks.

    it's more involved than it's Camry brother where you just fill the trans at the dipstick, like a normal car! They did it this way back in the 80s, Tercel comes to mind,diff bearings don't go long without oil. Early Mazda's had level on the actual speedo gear!

    Ok guessing nobody made it to the walker exhaust system class . If there's a 100° difference between the outlet temp and the inlet temp that's the beginning of time to change it . A lot times it will be much more if it's glowing already. So either take it out all together or replace it. It's a fire hazard if you work out in country/ dept. Of agriculture or forestry. Example. Good reason carry a fire extinguisher too.

    Welp, I had an alignment done earlier this year. I guess I got someone who knew what they were doing, but I'm definitely checking that later! 😄

    Use a small screwdriver to lift the boot and create a gap at the axle interface, spray with WD 40, axle will spin during toe adjustment.

    That doesn't look like it came from twist because half of the boots good. Looks like the line above the boot is leaking and whatever it was leaking killed the boot.

    Lube under them and then the rod spins when you align without tearing the booties

    With an auto shop of your own all the shady stuff should stop happening the way to tell if a cats clogged is with a exhaust pressure gauge or you can use an oscilloscope with back pressure adapter to measure back pressure…

    Wouldn't you replace both at this point? Especially since you have cut both out already.

  • @Showboat_Six

    So how do you weld them back onto the car after you cut them off and then your vacuum cleaner blows the tape on both of them…

    • @gpautogainesville6296
      @gpautogainesville6296 2 дні тому

      if they were both ok, because the flange hardware is heavily rusted, I would use pipe sleeves and clamps. (and every manifold stud is as corroded)

    So, I'm suppose to cut my exhaust off to know which cat I have is bad. Instead of using a back pressure tester guage. 👍🏻

    A simple inferred thermometer would tell you without removing the converter from the vehicle.

    How do you loosen an oetiker clamp? You cut it, then replace it......

    • @thezombino6119
      @thezombino6119 3 дні тому

      You just take the springy clamp off and move the boot carefully with some pliers to loosen its grip, then place the springy clamp back on

    • @thezombino6119
      @thezombino6119 3 дні тому

      Because the oetiker clamp is connected to the rack and not the inner rod

  • @gpautogainesville6296
    @gpautogainesville6296 3 дні тому

    Yes you can do that, unless the car was parked, not running.

  • @DAR10162
    @DAR10162 3 дні тому

    There's an easier way to do this before you even take it off the car run the motor for a while and then look under the car in a y con figuration like you have here where exhaust can pass in either direction The converter that's plugged will be colder than the other one in a configuration that does not allow bypassing the plug converter will be glowing red hot

    That looks like the old gm 3800's gasket. They finally decided that it required GMS on both side of the pan gasket to prevent reoccurring leakage.

    Good one Gunter I bet a lot of people don't know what the presures really mean and what happens if it's to high ... And when the ac is off it really shouldn't take forever to equalize . Hope to see more. Thanks and aloha from the big island of Hawaii

    It's actually pretty dry in about 10 minutes, and FWIW blowing with shop air puts antifreeze everywhere, and then the level comes right back up...this is faster and easier.

    Great job and idea !!!! I usually use a very thin film of ultra grey on the gasket and use your fingers to just work the grey around both sides of the gasket like I said thin film . ...for the water pump or intake manifold You get the idea I hope ... Aloha problem

    When will people learn just cause it’s a namebrand or a good shop doesn’t mean they’re gonna treat you right or show you how to do something. … I swear to God I’m doing mine and I’m gonna show you how to do it. …. Remove your fan.. and plastic cover I like how they do this little shit they don’t take off everything and show you like let me get technical Remove your AC compressor your throat on the side Move your alternator… move your bracket that hold on everything …. Remove your water pump. .. remove your harmonica bouncer then finally remove your gasket pan… then you proceeded to take your pull off I’ve never done one before but I’m attempting to do one. I got the book all you assholes are doing is digging around making people run all over to get a bunch of different videos. …💯💯 Like a mechanic, all you wanna do is waste peoples time and make them do the hardest way I guess people like us is what makes America great again, huh?

    Oh, and lots of Vaseline on that inner washer! Promise to do that video in another f.pump r/r on that very same truck (he makes his own biofuel and really goes through pumps, they say his blend has maybe too much lye in it).

    Ah yes, the banjo bolt! The inner washer has to sit on the tiny ledge built into the line while keeping slight pressure with one hand and pushing the bolt and other washer with the other hand...but that's another video.
