Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand is the best. I lived there for 3 years and they will take care of you the best. Wherever you are from, they have assigned staff who will speak your native tongue. Dental too is great and very inexpensive. You will be amazed the price compared to U.S. Frontier Airlines is from Colorado, where I lived before. I will never fly Frontier again. Do not buy that promotion $500. I rather drive than fly Frontier Airlines.

I have lived and traveled Souitheast Asia for over 20 years including, Bangkok, Singapore and the Philippines. Since, the viewers are also considering budgeting their trips, nowadays, it's that cheap to stay in Bangkok (food are outstanding & so cheap), Singapore for me is out of the picture. It's a shopping galore (expensive). I find Singapore is a country that a wanna be United States. Remember, it's there is NO domestic flight, meaning not much to see except Little India and Orchard Road. Indonesia is a good choice too. It all depend on what you are looking for? If you are concern about humidity and heat, then go to Europe or stay in your home. That's part of the adventure. If you are looking to enjoy the beaches with white sand and relaxation, Bangkok, Indonesia and the Philippines. Remember there are 7,650 islands in the Philippines. Vietnam is a good choice too for adventure and great exposure to something new. Japan is a great choice for great experience and excitement in a country with great history. Japan is my first choice before any Southeast Asian Countries. But, no matter what ENJOY!! And don't forget, the bullet train. Hongkong to me is like going to any Chinatown especially myself growing up in San Francisco. You can't enjoy the beaches. I rather go to Taiwan. If you Google it, the best beaches in Asia are in the Philippines before Bangkok.

I am from Thailand and I know people from America it doubt about medical or hospital in Thailand, but they have no idea. It’s so fantastic that the doctor still wear the white coat and the hospital is so clean and beautiful and now I am leaving in USA. I feel like I have been taught chain on the time and well-being care of like the way in Thailand did so. I am glad that you guys had just a great experience and Thailand is a great doctor, and I hope that it’s open your eyes. I’m glad that you be taken care of and have a good experience.

Since you are knowledgeable, please please please do a video on internet setup for those of us who plan to slow travel (stay in a place for 30 days and take mini trips on the weekends) while working remotely at our jobs. I am SO SO worried they are going to find out I’m in another country and fire me or tell me to come back. To me it shouldn’t matter where I physically am as long as I’m doing my job. Specifically, I would appreciate you answering the following: 1.) What do I need to do/ buy to protect the company from hackers? 2.) How do I make it to where they can’t tell where I am? 3.) Tips to have reliable, ultra fast internet.

Hey, Lisa and Josh. Here's a question that maybe you can address in a future podcast or UA-cam video? I'm starting to plan a solo trip for one year. (Male, 62, my wife does not want to take this trip with me but will meet me in one or two amazing places along the way.) I hope to be gone for all of 2026. And I have a rough eastward itinerary and also a rough westward itinerary. I'm wondering if you might want to let me know if I'm trying to do too much. I've got nine locations where I'm planning to spend four weeks each and the rest of the time I will be actively traveling and spending 2-5 days in a location and then moving on. Happy to send you the rough list, so reply and I'll zap it to you. Obviously, I'm open to any suggestions and am looking forward to many adventures. Also, a bonus question, where should my wife meet me? --Grant. PS: Your videos are amazing!

Thank you for your vulnerability ❤️ i was nodding along the whole time. To me, questions 1 and 3 are very related. I'm in my 30s, but already have turned from a backpacker into a bit of a "flashpacker" -- as in, someone who still travels minimally and wants to experience cultures and places authentically, but am at the stage in life where I'm willing to pay a little more money for luxury, like a hotel with AC, for example, or my own room with a comfy bed rather than a hostel/homestay. So in that respect, since I am a little more attached to my creature comforts, I think my mindset has shifted a bit away from the backpacker mindset as I have gotten older, even though I do still travel with just a 30L backpack (and yes that does come with some pride). At the same time, luxury is different for everyone. Maybe a disabled person simply cannot sleep on the ground in a Vietnamese homestay. So then it's not their mindset that is the problem, and they might be more of a backpacker than me, if they are only choosing the bare minimum of western living situations rather than choosing something based on comfort. ("Minimum" and "comfort" are still so subjective though!) Is a nice pillow a luxury item for someone with a back injury? I guess only they can determine that. Only they know their mindset and their needs vs desires. Another thing that has changed for me with age is my digestive health. IBS has made my eating habits a lot more complicated than when I last lived abroad in my 20s and could pretty much eat anything at anytime. In preparing for a month in Southeast Asia, I've been trying to find digestive supplements that will work well enough in combination with selective eating, exercise, etc. to allow me to try as many local, authentic foods as possible. But traveler's diarrhea scares me more than the average person because of how severely my body reacts to some foods. I worry about how this will impact my travel experience, and my identity as a traveler. I feel shame about making sure I know where the McDonald's are in case my gut asks for western food to calm down. So my anxiety about age has to do with losing the ability to experience the world fully. And I am sure that this is a question that people with disabilities struggle with in similar and different ways. I related to a lot of what Josh said!

Btw, the 24-105 f4 is great and we have the same camera body. We sold the lens but are considering other options like the Sony 16-35 or even 14-24. Agree with y’all about the gimbals. Takes too long to set up, attracts too much attention, and is useless for ABM users lol The drone we have too but also agree the laws are unclear and there is no true international standards and different countries have different rules they’re loud it’s takes long to set up. Shots are beautiful but you guys are right there is not much value for the average traveler. People want to see what it’s actually like on the ground in a country so drone shots aren’t as relatable.

If you are saying that routine health check up in Thailand is very good value for money compared to a lot of other countries, that's very true. The level of details and the great hospitality would impress anyone. If you are saying as a young person with no serious unhealthy habits it's a good idea to get comprehensive checkup, you are very wrong. Studies have shown that not only is it not useful, doing unneeded tests can have bad consequences on your health.

This is really tricky to say but the difference between you two and lot of the people who do travel channels is that they vibe off being clueless. For me as a veteran traveller, I don’t need to see somebody who is quite frankly not all that young anymore acting like they don’t know how to operate in the world. In the case of a lot of these channels, they just come off as being too lazy to look things up and vibing off discovery as though that’s interesting in itself. Not picking on any one channel, but maybe it was cute when they were 25 and didn’t quite know what they were doing. Sorry that’s a lot of negatives but what I really mean to say is that I think you provide for me information that I can’t otherwise get. I can look online and see a trend and either appreciate it or ignore it, but being able to look at technologies for travel and hear your honest review of them has already saved me money and a whole lot of time. On the other hand, I think your instructional videos for newbies are also really helpful because you don’t assume that everybody is like you. I’m a research academic and I travel as a part of my work, often for lengthy periods. And it’s incredibly helpful to have advice for the planning that, quite frankly is not something that I could just look up on Wikipedia or shaped by really problematic sponsorships. To be honest I think the reason that you have the self reflection is that you’re people who do self reflect and I’m not not sure it’s there in a lot of travel influencers who are stuck on the idea that everything they’ve just experienced nobody else ever has. It’s not even that that is particularly self-absorbed really, but I think you said it when you talked about what could’ve happened if following one of those trends had been super successful…on the one hand I kind of wish it was for you, just would it have meant you ended up doing this really great stuff. But we’ve seen the revelation from travel bloggers in their use of the word ‘content’ and if you’re always chasing content rather than building information based on that kind of reflection, it’s always gonna be problematic.

Hey Lila and Josh! Loved the video. It was so helpful! :) My wife, I and our little one is doing full time travel next year and I need a bit of advise. Is the 24-105mm wide enough for most shots? I currently have a 16-35mm and a 70-200mm but I definitely want to get rid of the 70-200mm because of the weight and would have loved something more with a reach. Thinking get rid of the 16-35mm and get the 24-105mm. What do you think?

Thanks for the detailed eSIM walk through! Airalo's website says "The validity period starts when the eSIM connects to any supported network/s." So if you buy an eSIM for New Zealand while you're in Australia, I'm guessing the countdown doesn't start until your flight lands in New Zealand and connects to a local network.

I found that that the prices were cheaper, faster, and higher data limit with sim over eSIM. It convenient to have eSIM in that you can activate even before leaving your country and life saver when you are using at the airport to get traffic. Just remember to activate the ride apps and food apps before leaving your country because lots of overseas eSIM might have issue when they send a text to verify the account.

I love my Cotopaxi too! You can clip a water bottle to one of the Carabiner lash loops. I have a Vapur collapsible water bottle that works fine like that. I also love the tuck-away straps and 4 reinforced grab handles on each side. The newest 28L actually HAS the water bottle holder, but you lose one of the grab handles and the straps don't tuck away, so I will stick with my older model.

For water… you should get one of those collapsible water bottles, that look similar to your toiletry tubes. Takes up no space or weight, when empty and some have loops that can be used to attach to a carabiner. I have the Wildreed Soft Flask that’s great! (I use one for hydration and another for a travel bidet - with the Luoov “Finger” Bidet attachment.)

Shocking but I actually get better (some?) sleep on a long haul flight using that same neck pillow. It attaches to the head rest on the seat so my head doesn't fall forward and wake me up. It's memory foam so I can pack it down to about a third of the size (it came with its own case). I got about six hours of sleep in a 14 flight in a middle seat thanks to that pillow. It also allowed me to get some sleep during a long late layover at the airport. If you take quick or daytime flights a neck pillow is definitely not necessary. Also not necessary if you can get a window seat (so that you can lean against the window) or a lay down seat.

No setting up multiple devices to the wifi, all my stuff sits on its own subnet, I can add a Chromecast if I want and I route all traffic through a VPN for extra safety. Never had issues with speed or range.
