Missed opportunity, but not a fumble. I think the WNBA draft was a fumble. They had enough time and evidence to make that event larger. Caitlin-mania as far as viewership and ticket sales isnt that old. NBC and Fox only gave her games major push just this last season. The league has been growing but with it being an Olympic year and not enough information, they made the right decision for this season.

I am hopeful that the W will realize the growth of the sport and take advantage while the iron is hot. I am excited for the expansion, and i think with it, they will modify the playoff to be at least a Best of 5 in the first 2 rounds and a best of 7 in the final. Also, i think why the Mercury/Lynx game had such high ratings was that it is potentially Turasi's last game.

everything, from limited amount of games to reduce travel costs, to keeping the players salaries low, is done for one reason only, and that is because the owners don't want to pay more than they already do. This is one of the reasons the comissioner said what she said in that interview. She was thinking about the owners pockets and welfare, and not the players. The owners are the ones who hired her, and, like all comissioners, her main job is to keep the owners, her employers, rich by making them more money and spend less. The W makes enough noney to where they can pay the players a little more, or give them a slightly bigger percentage. The owners just do not want to do that.

Candace is still the rookie goat, imo. I'm a Homer Iowa fan, but I have to give Candace the slightest of edge. Couple of things you didn't mention. Candace wasn't responsible for orchestrating the offense. Candace also didn't face the amount of defensive pressure CC has. I'm not saying it wasn't strong pressure but as a big she could catch a breath not like CC and the amount of responsibility as a PG.

In terms of cultural impact, Clark is the most important rookie of all-time, which was going to be obvious. However, in terms of statistics, Parker and Moore, I believe both top her.

I can't knock Clark being the better rookie between her and Stew York. I would give it a tie between them. I'd have to check and see who played with Stewie during her rookie season but I felt since the beginning of the season that Indiana, New York, and Los Angeles were the deepest teams this season. I still stand by my LA pick.

To be fair it was both Clark and Boston who started to play well that made Indiana better.

Great take bro keep up the great work. Always love CC as a player. However, the Fever is not a top 3 team, their D is just not good enough nor is their bench. CC I agree with you she is definitely among the top 10 rookie in the last 10 yrs. Plus I love how she has spoken out on folks attempting to want her to be anti black vs her black teammates. She is definitely ROY hut I don’t see her getting MVP though.

If Caitlin is playing like this in her rookie, it's going to scary for the league for league bu year 3. And is she has AB, who is a potential superstar and Kelsey Mitchell as her teammates.
