How to Fix Warning Messages on 2019+ Ford Ranger
Переглядів 16 тис.2 роки тому
This video shows how to eliminate the Pre-Collision Assist Not Available and Front Camera Fault warning messages. Also, just to note I do not have adaptive cruise control so there was no radar in the front to be obstructed by the new bumper. Hope this helps anyone having this issue. Drop any comments or questions below. Thanks for watching.
How to Fix Ford's Mistake on 2019+ Ford Ranger
Переглядів 66 тис.3 роки тому
This video shows how to install the Redtek Auto Window Module. In this day and age I felt like this is something all vehicles should have standard. Here is the link to the module I purchased which is for the one touch up/down and remote functions, this module does not include the power folding mirrors, there is a separate module required for that. They do have a bundle that includes both though...
How to FIX Soft Brake Pedal on 2019+ Ford Ranger
Переглядів 26 тис.3 роки тому
This video explains and shows how to fix the soft brake pedal issue on the 2019 and newer Ford Ranger that many people are experiencing. I did this procedure on 2 different Ford Ranger's, a 2019 and a 2021 and it was successful on both with zero adverse affects.
Gonna try this
Ford would not do it for me. Looking for someone who will now
Very ugly
Is that a Fox shocks tie rod clamp a 1 5/8 or, 1 3/8" tie rod Clamp?
@@CreamyNews it’s a 1 1/2” tie rod clamp part number FOX 803-02-056
Hey , i don’t know if anyone came across this issue before but just after watching your video i got forescan from amazon and followed all the steps but as soon as i scan my vehicle i see this Error “unable to identify the vehicle If PCM has a custom tune installed, please enter strategy/calibraton name or part number of FACTORY PCM (ex. 5L3A-12A650-AYH)” Any kind of help would be appreciated thanks..!
😂😂 seriously. I'll just push & hold the button thanks.
Cant seem to find the same model you're using on their website. All they show are MK2 and MK3. For rangers.
I’m not entirely sure which one it is, you can message them directly and they generally answer pretty quick
U need a spank-en for that. solder all conection. YAaaa
I can't use this fix with out having the PCM code. How do I find the PCM code?
I’m not sure, I haven’t had that issue.
Interesting that Ford missed that. I had a '20 and hated the pedal. Great catch!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just installed my module after watching video, no issues. Thanks man!
Dude it actually works that’s nuts, thanks man.
I was going to get this done, but I turned the “brake assist” off and they work great, 21 SXT 4x4, they always felt great in S mode, so I thought it has to be ecu
Nice. I would not get this module as the windows only stay down one minute…what is the point in that? Great video, I learned a lot!
I’m not sure what you mean about the window only stays down a minute, mine stayed down until I rolled them back up.
Hi I have a 2014 Mazda BT50 3.2 and have soft pedal feel as well would this procedure work on my car by any chance ?
Thank you for making this video. I will be trying to instal mine now with your video.
Do you know how to replace the bulb and what bulb type it is
Hi i have tried what you did but I ipma but i don't get the options you had im only getting as built format
You might be in the wrong section then, I’m not sure without seeing it
Do the rear calipers have bleeder valves I did not see them when I went to change my brake fluid? And what fluid do you recommend I use for the procedure?
Yes the rear calipers have bleeder screws. I’m not 100% in what fluid it takes, you can use dot4 if it’s dot 3 or 4. Look in your owners manual and see what it says.
Totally worked and it taught my ford mechanic something they don’t know I had same issue with my 2019 ranger took it in after watching this asked to have this done they said it can’t be I showed the guy your video so he said I’ll give it a try and after he was done he couldn’t believe that does wasn’t telling the techs this trick thank you sir my brakes feel like brakes now
I’m glad to hear it helped. You would think by now Ford would know about this issues and would have issued a TSB for it.
Another satisfied customer, thank you! Just did this to my new to me 2021 Ranger. Got the adapter and forscan. It's the first thing I did. Worked great and brakes are firm!
Buddy tells you to put antiseize 10 min after he tells you to thread them in 😂
How are these lights holding up?
Holding up great, right at a year of ownership now and no issues whatsoever.
@@xerowerx I was considering these or the mozimotos (not sure if that is the correct spelling). However when I talked to the people selling them they said the life expectancy is only 5 years, and then you will have to change out the entire headlight again.
@@PrestonGladd I’ve had the morimotos in another truck and they were great quality but I liked the animation in the AlphaRex better. I’ve never heard of them only lasting 5 years. I love these headlights and I haven’t had any issues with them.
Little late, but i just realized with this installed, the rear windows no longer lock via the driver's side button. I lose the ability to roll them down from my seat (like stock), but passengers can roll them down. And occasionally, with auto stop/start, the rear passenger side window rolls down on its own. Any experiences like this?
Yea this is a waist of money.
Where did you buy that drill bit?
I bought it off Amazon
I got the RPM kit and calls for a 55/64 straight bit. Would the 7/8 you used also get the job done? Thanks in advance
@@kojiki88 55/64 is ever so slightly smaller than 7/8. I would try and find the correct size because if you mess up then you have to replace the whole spindle.
2020 Ranger. So, I watched this, then called my Ford dealer to see if they would do this. They declined, saying that a "false bleed" was not a recommended procedure. (I get it- you have to follow Ford's rules if you're a dealer). I found an Independent shop with Forscan- they wanted $75 for the standard diagnosis fee, and $25 for the procedure. I bought the adapter cable for $25 and paid another $20 to Forscan for a 1 year sub. Followed your directions, and now have brakes that act like brakes, not a wet sponge. Thank you so much for this.
I’m glad to hear it, if it goes back to a spongy pedal then you will want to actually do a full bleed procedure with actually opening the lines and allowing it to bleed some fluid out.
Is forscan a free software?
They do offer a free version
Thanks!
My problem is the lack of foot room on my ‘19 Ranger. Not enough room from the floor to the bottom of the dash. I never see anyone complain about it.
I cut the heating cooling vent back a little to keep that from grabbing my foot while releasing the brake.
I was really hopeful this fix would work for me, but it didn't. I was recently in FORScan adjusting the mm circumference of my larger tires and decided to make a few more tweaks. I stopped in at each tab to take a look around and spent some time studying the options available. Unfortunately, I do not specifically recall what I may have tweaked beyond that, but now I have a persistent "Pre-Collision Assistant Not Available" error that routinely appears and can only be cleared with the steering wheel "OK" button. I've repeatedly gone back into the FORScan program and tried making multiple adjustments, then removing them to try to isolate the culprit, but have been completely unsuccessful. The error only arrived since my poking around in the program and has nothing to do with an obstructed sensor. I've read countless other Pre-Collision posts on FORScan and the Ranger Forums and NONE of them apply to my specific situation, but still searching..
I think there is a way you’re able to pull up the original scan of the vehicle and put everything back to the way it was before you changed anything and then just change your tire size and leave everything else alone if you want.
So, I'm looking to order this item for install. I have a 2019 Ranger Supercab. Is there a specific module for the two windows or will this one work as well?
I’m not 100% sure, I would assume that it would work but if you message them they should be able to answer you and they usually answer pretty quickly.
Yeah, I sent them a message in regards. No response yet. Thanks. @@xerowerx
Hi, will it work on the 2018 model? Thanks
I’m assuming you have a non-US Ranger. I’m not sure about that but it’s worth trying, I doubt there’s much difference between a 18 and a 19 US Ranger
Thanks for your time and knowledge to make this video to help other techs like me
Thanks a lot! My brand new 2023 Ranger had soft brakes (that mostly sucked) and this procedure restored them to the performance and feel that the engineers meant it to have. I had taken it to the dealer who said that since there were no codes, the truck was performing as intended!
I’m glad it helped.
Hi. What version of Forscan did you make use of in this video?
Is it enough to do it only on one or do you have to repeat the procedure of bleeding all 4?
You can do just one of you want but all four would be the best option
I have a 2021 ranger and all four of my brakes lock up . The only way to free them up is to pull the vacuum hose from the brake booster. I have taken it to the dealer they could not figure it out. Have you run across anything like this before.
I have not run across that issue. I’d say contact a different dealer if you can and see if they can resolve the issue.
Incredible. The difference is night and day. Truly not all heroes wear capes. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Just dis this on my 22. There might be a very slight difference, if any. Should i redo it and actually crack open the bleeders?
Just installed this weekend thanks for the great guidance!
thanks dude, this worked great on my 22 ranger
did that top piece break at 3:51 at the top?
Yes it did, I realized that later.
well shit i think i want that miami before getting in would be nice for the roll down feature
Roll down only for one minute….then up it goes
Hello, I own a 2020 ford ranger with the mushy brake pedal so I took it to local ford dealer and they checked the pedal travel which it was within the accepted specs but still mushy pedal. Where are you located if I would have you perform the abs procedure? Thanks GS
Are those headlights Alpharex matrix
Sorry for the delayed response, don’t remember seeing a notification for this question but they were the Morimoto XB headlights.
I am looking for a way for the doors to unlock when you put the truck in park.
There may be a setting in the radio to do that.
Can you replace OE tweeters on the XLT with more premium ones for example like the ones in the Lariat model? Do you think it would be a complicated process or a plug and play situation?
I’m not entirely sure, I’d like to think they would be a direct swap but I know some speakers from premium manufacturers won’t work properly if not connected to that same brand stereo system without modifications
U can but got cut and wire them or saugter
What high steer bracket is that?
Which bracket are you talking about? The trac bar bracket?
@@xerowerxis it the rough country? Do you like it or would you go with a different company?
@@DougP-q4d the track bar is the rough country bracket and it’s actually the one that Doetsch recommended. Tbh I’ve been doing a diesel swap on the Jeep so I haven’t even driven it much since that install but it seemed great for the time I used it.
Thank you for this I just bought this kit! Great video man!
Thanks, hopefully it helps you with your install.
Are you enjoying the kit still? Mine just came in the mail, so I am wondering what difference it will make for me.
