Backwards Scope Photo Got US Navy CO FIRED!
The viral image of the US Navy CO shooting a rifle with a backwards scope recently gets fired for “loss of confidence”. This is a bad look on him, but also for those that let it happen.

Getting Comfortable In Water | Navy AIRR | Helo Guy

Getting comfortable in the water is something nobody says out loud, yet we’ve all experienced it one way or another. Part of any special program selection course is to do just that. Members of the military and more elite members of specialized units have to show their proficiency in the water at times based on mission accomplishment. For some of us, the water portion is where we feel at home an...

Armorers Wrench(s) 🔧 | You May Need More Than One

For those of you who have one of these type of styles of armorers wrench, these 2 are the ones I would recommend considering ease of use, how robust it is. Magpul Armorers wrench is very strong, yet very expensive. I love the straightness of it without any funky angles and it could do just about anything you need it to. I also really appreciate the torque specs of the parts engraved on it as we...

Navy AIRR | AWR vs AWS | Same Same, But Different!
People ask me if I can drill out their 80% lowers people ask me if I can help them build their 80% firearms honestly it annoys the heck out of me because legally I can’t otherwise I would and I’d make money but I ain’t willing to waste my life for them unfortunately 🤨 no jail for me 😆
People constantly ask me if I want to sell my 80% firearms however I always say no even though I can sell some of them as a private sale I live in Ohio lol but for some stupid reason my felon friends from back in the day always ask me and I constantly refuse because why on earth would I go to jail for that 😆
Exactly.
The biggest simps are NOT black men. That is a WILD take.
The biggest simps I know ARE black men. It’s sad to admit it, but that’s just the way it is. This is an old ass video. 😂
I love the look of the SB HBPDW, but I am concerned that it will have that “sproing” to it with suppressed 300blk subs. I am spoiled by piston operated and JP SCS in my other 300blk setups, but I am building a “Honey Bastard” where I wanted to use this brace.
Appreciate the content so much! Thank you for sharing the details. i'm trying to decide if i should enlist. If i do, AWS will be my first choice.
You’re welcome. Good choice.
That little wrench is for scope mounts that have the little nuts on
I’ve used it before for that on one of my scopes.
Any chance you’ve opened the pistol buffer to see what weight configuration they have inside? I’m looking for multiple tungsten weights with the proper diameter to fine tune my setup
I haven’t done that.
@@PhDarien at the end of the buffer there’s a blue cap. Next to the cap there’s a punch pin. I wonder if you have time to check how they do the weights? If not, totally understand man 👍🏽
I’ll do that later. Never needed a reason to. If I can find my digital scale, I’ll do it
@@PhDarien that would be super helpful - even just knowing if the tungsten inside is one solid piece? Or split into multiple would help me make my decision. I would not need to know the weight of each piece
Great review with bringing in the folding stock to show a difference in length For a pack gun.
Some ppl purchase them to learn private sales are legal here California is trash i would never move back there
Goin to bootcamp here soon and so far off all the navy videos this one has me almost intrigued just dealing with the confidence aspect man and overthinking
Have fun and good luck with your career.
I’ve been on a binge trying to soak up as much information as possible about green berets and you’re the first black operator who expressed and articulated everything I was thinking that others didn’t speak on. I’m 27 and feel like white kids in the 80s watching Larry Bird.
There’s a handful of us in any special program/ operations / forces / warfare etc. I hear the opposite from people who are all non black. When it comes to something as simple as advertising, how many blacks are incorporated into the culture? You’ll be welcomed, but feel like an oddball at times.
I feel like the maxim used to be more expensive than the SB but now it’s the other way around
That’s interesting. Maybe because AR pistols died down and companies have a large amount to get rid of. My Maxim was definitely more than the SB(my preference)
Welcome to VA dude! Here in SWVA we have tons of options for 2nd amendment items, hopefully you're in an area that has the same!
I am a police officer in Virginia Beach. No issues out here.
Thank you
Hey guy. No. I’ll buy mine with no serial and with no tracking. Stores may have receipts saying I made a purchase. Those sales records are not itemized, however. So still…. No
Okay
You made yourself look bad about the hair stuff. Pools were closed, and private. No pools for black people to learn how to swim.
No I didn’t. Until someone posts a video about what I’m saying with logic, I’ll stand my ground. There’s plenty of pools where I live and guess who isn’t in them? The largest demographic that lives here.
Hi I’m in my late 20s, I have a question about what is required for the level 1 and level 2 quals for aws. I start my A-school in 3 weeks and plan on going back to swcc as soon as possible. I’ve asked my old instructors from air crew candidate school and rss. They’ve told me that it’s possible to get back to swcc under my first contract if I complete my level 2 qualifications quickly and show my usefulness to my squad. Any advice and information would be greatly appreciated, heck maybe you could make a video out of it titled buds duds back to buds. Thanks in advance.

Homie is just tryna lower his competition 😂😂 don’t buy 80%… *buys an 80%*
I don’t buy them ignorantly and then ask people why it doesn’t work. That did make me laugh though.
I was suggested for going the AWS route, been trying to find more info glad I found this video and channel
Glad I could help.
So you don’t anneal the brass with this method?
Not for an initial trim from 556 to 300blk
People dont understand, milspec doesnt mean its good quality🤷♂️
So glad i found this video as i wasnt about to drop my jp silent capture spring lol
They have one for the Maxim defense buffer tube as well. I have both now. It may or may not be worth it for you. Glad I could help.
@@PhDarien yeah I looked it up after I heard you say something, how is the performance compared to the full size. I got the assorted spring kit , and then grabbed 2 tungsten weights for mine after a few months, and the adjustability is amazing, especially paired with a superlative adjustable gas block. Or any adjustable gas block. I run a ultradyne apollo max muzzle break together on a 10.5 and it's recoil is non Existent even when your dumping mags. Looks and sounds so violent, but it's the softest shooting AR I've built lol
Where in the world have you ever seen it say that a constitutionally protected item is illegal to teach how to make are you prohibited by law from teaching someone how to write or read are you prohibited from law to teach someone how to run a printing press I don't think so I'm actually quite sure in the United States of America there are no laws prohibiting you from teaching anything
I got interested in "80%" lowers because that seemed like the next logical step from doing a build from a stripped lower. I've filled out the ATF-4473 enough times to be on any of their lists. And I mail ordered the 80%s using a credit card. It's not like there isn't a record of me having them. The why is simply for fun. Also there is some satisfaction in building one right. I look forward to the day when I can do a build from a zero percent. The cost of CNC is coming down. Not there yet. But it will be eventually. Nothing stops this train.
In any facet of life, if someone is not doing something it because they can't do it or wont (this means not wanting to) do it. It's not because of poitics of culture. Women aren't in spec-ops because they can't do it. Men aren't babysitters because they wont do it. "Shortage" implies that spec-ops is lacking is some way w/o the ratio of ethnicities reflecting the ethnical makeup of the population (I'm not certain it does). This is clearly not the case as spec-ops has no jobs that are specifically suited to any one of a certain ethnicity.
The bolt override isn't designed to give you leverage so much as it is designed to press the backside of the extractor in order to "override" it, forcing it to let go of a stuck shell. Once it lets go of the casing, you can use the regular charging handle to pull the bolt back. In the case of a round over carrier, or brass over bolt (whatever) malfunction it can be used for extra leverage or just to hold the bolt/carrier because if you've been firing it will be hot. Edit : Multitasker also makes an AR15 multiplier that has more useful tools than other AR dedicated multitools like a castlenut wrench. Even staked, a castle nut can come loose, especially if mortaring the rifle. A loose castlenut in the field really makes the rifle hard to use, having to retorque the nut by hand every few rounds.
Can you send link for the lower and for the jig? Please and thank you
Nice hat rack. And you answered a question I had that no one else addressed and that is will the maxim cycle 300 blackout and 556 . Without going into detail you saved me 400 bucks. Thanks for the Awesome review.
You’re welcome.
I became an AW in '77..Went thru swimmer school an NAS Miramar...Trained by a Master Chief SEAL because there wasn't a "standard" school curriculum yet.. Im 66 and would jump out of a helo today if they'd let me ! SOML !
800 divisions ain’t spec war no more, turned into future sailor divisions
Fake picture there are no mounting rings on the scope, is the scope welded to the mount this is BS. Zoom in on the scope there are no rings Da especially where the scope is mounted under the turrets, that scope was photo shopped on there
Link for 80%?
UA-cam doesn’t allow links to that. Deltateam tactical or righttobear dot com
So when I was there a little over year ago we had a thing called Pre-Load where we would train with the RSS guys waiting to class back up who got injured or rolled and some of the instructors who weren’t running a class at the time. That was usually 2 weeks. SAR prep next which was 2-4 weeks depending on what your numbers were for the PST then we went to RSS for 6 weeks, NACCS after that. A school, FRS and then SERE.

I'm a black man who aspires to be in Special Operations. I look forward to attending selection and becoming a talented soldier in SpecOps.
Whenever the person in command is allowed to do something stupid and not be stopped by his subordinates, that tells me they are trying to undermine him. So my guess is this photo is a symptom of a commanding officer who does not have the respect and support of the people he commands. A lot of commanders are "ticket punchers" - do the required jobs to get the next promotion, with little care for actual leadership and those they command, verses personal success. Don't worry the LBGTQ+AI - M-O-U-S-E is coming to the rescue as the new captain is either a man pretending to be a woman or just an openly lesbian woman, which means failure will follow failure. The military should not reflect the society it protects, but aspire to be better and set ethical, moral and professional standards of excellence, with service to God, Family and Country, first a foremost.
Stoked to see you back!

@@PhDarien Cool cool. Let me ask you a question. You said you were an ESAMI, right? Do you instruct seabees by chance? I 've been thinking about signing up to be a seabee and I was curious of how much shooting and combat training they get and how far they are shooting. Is it on par with what the army does in basic? I mean I suppose the job description is more important than how much training they get in C school, but you know, just wondering.
Good question. I cannot answer for every Seabee or sailor for that matter, but it depends on the unit you go to. I was an ESAMI. It belongs to the expeditionary units or commands. It’s up to each ESAMI to determine what type of training you receive. If you shoot a lot on your own and are a good shot, you can get the schools easier and be on the navy’s shooting team like a few friends of mine. As far as the Army goes, I’m not sure what they do exactly.
@@PhDarien I appreciate the answer and I really appreciate how prompt and thorough it was. I did not know that the navy had schools for shooting other than the training in c school. I'm a pretty decent shot right now. I can shoot 1/2 MOA to 1.5 MOA with my hunting rifle with 10x scope pretty consistently and about 2-4 MOA with my AR-15 with a red dot pretty consistently. I haven't shot with iron sights in a long time so I couldn't tell you what I shoot with those. Probably worse than with a red dot though, right? I'll be joining the reserves because I'm old and I'll feel weird doing the active duty lifestyle around people in their early 20s, so maybe that sort of thing wouldn't be available to me anyways? Appreciate your input man.
@@PhDarien oh sorry can I ask you what these other schools are?
It is doctored as evidenced by lack of scope rings...
No telling with that crowd
the trijicon vcog is one with its mount hence the lack of rings, it's built into the mount as one piece.
The Trijicon VCOG has the entire scope and mounting system forged of one piece of 7075 Aluminum, therefore it doesn't use scope rings (a 19th century technology), which makes it a more durable optic, with less parts. The mounting plate at the bottom can be swapped out as needed.
When you are clearing buildings, you will have a team member in contact with you, either their elbow against your side, or their hand on your shoulder. If I have to explain why, then I don't think this crowd is worthy of my time...
The eye relief distance is determined by the scope. You may want to be 6" inches away, but if the scope's eye relief is only 3", then you are out of luck. You will be closer.
True.
I meet with AWR1 Adam sheafer Thursday for my pst for airr on Thursday super stoked
Navy demotes Chief grisel Marrero for illegal starlink this guy is relieved for a photo op... idk man
Back around the time o Tailhook although I wasn't Navy I had an office in FOB2 (which was then the Navy BUPERS building). Going to the cafeteria there was often interesting. I got to see a lot of Navy people who one way or another had come to the attention of the social media of the time (papers, TV, radio)). Both the greats and the not so greats. Observed demeanor ran the gamut from normal to pretty unhappy. There were a lot of great people grabbing a bite there who should have been getting media attention, but somehow the ones who had really screwed up were the ones the media focused on. Run down a list of names of folk who were Navy famous or infamous in the 90s, I probably saw them in that cafeteria at least once. I saw a fair number of COs who were losing a command because of something happening on or too their ship. Although I personally thought (and to some degree still do) find it a little unfair to hold someone asleep in their own quarters for something that happens while they are asleep, such was and is the Navy way. I am willing to consider the possibility the CO with the rifle was set up, perhaps by his own XO, by someone who didn't want him in that position. If so then giving him the backwards scope rifle for the photo op was an intentional act of slow, career ending, w malice. Did a SAMI actually hand the rifle in that condition to the CO, or was it picked up by someone else who altered the scope position before handing it to the CO? ;Here sir, use this one.' No doubt there is some NIS type checking the same suspicion. I remember the decision to drop weapons and basic combat training from Navy Basic and I personally thought it was a terrible decision, and I still do. I have total agreement that on ship it would only become relevant if the ship was boarded by hostiles, and that can't possibly happen, right? (sarcasm). But let's check history. Durn few alive remember a time when the Philippines was a US possession and the US had more sailors and dependents there than it had ships to carry them away with. In the early 1970s I worked with a man who as a teenager had joined the US Army and had been sent to the Philippines in early 1941. Surrendered by General Wainwright at Corregidor he and many others did the long march. He fell out as many did and was bayoneted twice and left for dead. He survived. Before moving from Bataan to Corregidor he had fought alongside a lot of USN people who had been abandoned by the USN. The BAR may have been new to them, but they certainly knew how to load a rifle or work a 1917 MG. In today's world those USN people would be a little less usable. I understand the economic thinking behind a decision to make Basic training more about marching, drill and ceremonies and that there is no need to waste time and money teaching every new recruit how to work an AR, clean it and maneuver while under fire. A fortune is ammo costs saved. The firing range is no longer needed and can be sold off to friendly Real Estate speculators. The training time can be reduced by the number of days (or weeks) previously spent on such frivolity. Both the USAF and the USN have fallen into that trap. So far we mostly get away with it. There was another trap the US Army is only now crawling out from under (thanks mostly to drone warfare). Until fairly recently the Army had a doctrine that there was no need for long range air defense because the USAF would always be overhead to neutralize airborne threats. The 40mm Bofors on an M24 chassis was replaced by a few Stingers and anything you couldn't hit with that rock would be done by the AF. Ukraine and Lancet drones are a glass of cold water to the face of some planners and forced some rethinking. The army is finally moving to having it's own organic mid range AA capability and long range capability is not far behind. Something similar with trench warfare which some folk had thought was stone age, but are now scrambling to find and reprint and update the post WWI manuals on the best way to construct a defensive trench.
Not gonna lie... the navy in the last 4 years got me wanting to switch jobs or branches all together.
