Let’s be real for a moment. Not everyone can afford to do a special meal at a restaurant on Mother’s Day. What do you do if your culinary skills are not great, your budget is constrained, or it is just too chaotic to enjoy?
French toast to the rescue. Super easy to make.
You can adorn / bling it up with more than just strawberries. Cream. Add some blueberries. Serve with a fresh (free wildflower, maybe) cut flower on a tray for breakfast in bed, or serve the whole family.
We used discount sourdough bread for this recipe. We’re fortunate to have our own eggs, so they didn’t cost anything. Just a splash of milk.
