What are the differences between the T-54 and the T-55?

Today we're gonna talk about something you've probably often wondered about but never got around to finding the answer.
What are the differences between the T-54 and the T-55.
They're quite similar, yet quite different.

The T-55 tank was equipped with a stabilized gun, a turret basket for crew comfort, a fire suppression system, and as far as i know was the first Soviet tank to have protection against Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological (NBC) threats. Later versions of the T-54 and standard T-55 models also included infrared night vision systems, with the distinctive infrared spotlight on the turret's front.

but the T-54s also had stabilised guns, T-54B had the tsyklon stabiliser

Great vid but i gotta say that you missed some versions
the T-54A has a vertical stabiliser, and the T-54B has a fully stabilised gun. The difference between the T-54B and the T-55A is basically only the NBC protection, otherwise they are pretty much the same tank.

There are a lot of different versions of the T-54 and the T-55, differentiating all of then in one video would have been too much so I went with the first versions of each tank.

Yeah I thought about that too. But I feel like it's hard for me to actually share some deeper interesting stuff if my videos are limited to 1-2 minutes. And I enjoy making these longer more in-depth videos more than Shorts
