Is there any sorce you use to find canals you can or cannot acess?
Google Earth. Thank you for watching!
@@BassinwithCaptLou is it all public acess?
Not necessarily. Once you find an area you're interested in. Take a road trip to see the area first hand. Sometimes you can see the area using street view on google earth, and you will tell automatically if it's fishable or not. Good luck!
I used to run braid to leader with an FG for a long time. I AB tested leader+fluoro leader vs straight fluoro and I was amazed at the difference. I would consistently get a lot more bites on the straight fluoro. This was for moving baits. For vertical presentations I don’t think you are missing bites on the braid to leader. But swimbaits, speed worms, swim jigs, etc it makes a huge difference. I wish it wasn’t true but those were my results from testing
Thank you for sharing! Appreciate you for watching. 👊🏼
You know, it's amazing. I never KNEW they made those magnum-size frogs until you did that video last year. And I thought I knew something about frog fishin'.
Appreciate you for watching Dale! Yeah, that's a Big Frog!
I spy a first gen tundra :)
You spy correctly! I have had that truck for 24 years!! Thank you for watching! :)
@@BassinwithCaptLou Toyota's run forever I pull my Bass Cat with Tacoma

Great information. Thanks
Thank you sir, appreciate you for watching!
My top Everglades soft plastic baits: 1) FLATS = Zoom U-vibe Speed Worm 6” or Netbait Big Bopper 6”, Junebug or Bama Bug, 1/8oz Tungsten, Hayabusa 956 4/0, 16lb Daiwa Samurai Fluorocarbon 2) CANALS = Missile Baits D-Bomb in Superbug, or Rage Bug in Bama Bug (some days they like more action), Owner Jungle Flipping 4/0, 5/16oz to 1/2oz woo tungsten, 20 lb Samurai Fluorocarbon
Good stuff!! Thank you for watching!
I haven’t fished Shimanos since the early 2000s, I had several Citica and Curado 200E7s. All of them got geary and noisy within a few months. For the past few years I’ve been running all Daiwa reels (mostly zillions with some tatulas). I’m wondering if these new Shimanos will hold up like the Daiwas or fall apart quickly
So far, my SLX MGL is working properly. I fish it a lot, and it's caught me a boat load of large mouth and peacock bass. Fortunately for me, I have an excellent reel technician who keeps all my reels tip-top. Thank you for watching!
Glad to see ya again! Just seen another video of someone throwing a large glide bait and caught a bass smaller than the bait.. ha
Thank you sir, it's been a spell. Appreciate you for watching.
Great info. What knot do you use?
Thank you for watching! I use the modified Uni, aka the FishinFool knot.
I’ve been looking for a great video on Miami canals… and I haven’t found one… until this video:)
Appreciate you for watching! Happy, you enjoyed it. 👊🏼

Curado I is 200…
Thank you for the correction.
Gosh, you look like a tourist! If you going to do this, you have to focus on the Pompano's, unless you are a tourist.. Ha 😅
🤣 I was definitely a tourist! The kids and I caught several juvenile Pompano. As a bonus for the last day, we caught 3 juvenile permits, too! So much fun! Appreciate you for watching!

You're just having a great day! Look at that sky. Look at that water. How could you go wrong! 😂
Thank you, sir! 🤣 If you look closer, I was also drenched in sweat, because it was hot!! 🥵🥵🤣
I know you have been suffering heat. But it is still better than having to work in it.
True! Appreciate you for watching!
Great video. Very educational. Do you use the SPRO frogs right out of the package? I've been told that some recommend boiling the frogs to soften them up. Do you mind sharing what rattles you use.
I'm happy you liked the video! I do absolutely nothing to my Spro's out of the box other than insert a small rattle inside. Hope the info helps, appreciate you for watching! 👊🏼
Awesome Video brother!!! Wow you’ve come a long ways!!! Proud is an understatement! 💪💪
Thank you, brother! 🙏 I'm happy you enjoyed the video.
Stock for stock i felt like my Dark Wolf Ultra casts noticeably better than my Curado. Upgraded with roro bearings though and its amazing!
Good to know! Thank you for sharing, and thanks for watching.
Thank you for another great video Captin Lou.
Happy you liked bud. Thank you for watching. 🙏👊🏼
Beautiful.
Thank you, my friend!
Awesome 😎 I really need to catch one.
They are! Tx for watching bud!
Hey Lou, I've been doing good on a Gold Skirtless Buzzbait with a Zman blue/gray Goat. I don't know if it is because of the overcast days or what. Even had two bust on it at the same time.
Good to know I may have to try out a buzzbait soon! Thank you for sharing sir!
Is there a particular color you use, or are there other variables that factor into your color selection? Great info as usual. Thanks.
I don't throw too many colors. I will use mainly white, some dark color, and lastly, a bluegill pattern. That's it. Appreciate you for watching. Thank you!
I found the Gambler all black with red popper and some glitter strips in the tails SLAYS largemouth down here. I had tried it one day when I was snakehead fishing and couldn’t catch a snake to save my life but the bass loved it
Good to know! Thank you for sharing. Appreciate you for watching.
How cool
Right!? Thanks for watching!
Superglue would go a long way if you’re having issue with the straw staying in place. A bottom stinger treble would get the same result, but this would last longer
Thank you for tip. Appreciate you for watching! 👊🏼
Boom.
Boom is right! Thank you for watching!
Little or not frog bites are always great
You got that right! Tx for watching! 👍🏼👊🏼
Language what did that fish ever do to you😂😂😂
🤣👊🏼
Question, how is it fun when the fish are so small and weak where u land it 5 seconds after the hook?
I can't control what bass decides to strike at my frog. I see a blow-up, and I set the hook. Sometimes the bass are big, sometimes there small. That's bass fishing for you. Thanks for watching.
@@BassinwithCaptLou fair I just never find it fun unless I’m using the lightest stuff I can find
Nothing like a frog bite
Thanks!
Nice pls sud
Thanks!
Nice Catch
Glad you liked it
Nice bass
@@Timrunnels1996 Thanks bud. 👊
Bass fishing is fun
Just add a stinger bro
Ok. Thanks for watching!
With your top six soft plastics, do you find certain brands work better than others?
That's an excellent question! Let's see if I can answer this question with a short response. I like Zoom products because they are not too soft and not too stiff like other similar brands. The CPF Thumper I really like because it's similar to Elaz-tech, and it can with stand a lot of abuse without having to constantly be replaced. I like the gambler Ez swimmer series because of their swimming action compared to other swimbaits. It doesn't take much to get EZ swimmer tails moving. Lastly, the Senko. They are pricey, but man, do they catch fish! I have yet to fish with a stick worm with that imparts that much loose action. It looks like a live worm wiggling in the water. Yes, other stick baits are cheaper and last way longer. But none of them can compare to the pliablity of a senko. Hopefully, I answered your question. Thank you for watching! 👊🏼
Thanks
@stevenbartell8065 you're welcome.
Being its a pontoon , can it be used without the floor plug? Does it sit above the water line? If waves splash in will it drain out?
I wouldn't use the boat without that plug. Thanks for watching!
dude this is sick, nice short video, simple explanation. love it
Thanks bud. Happy you liked it. Appreciate you for watching!
Longest “1/4 inch” I have ever seen. 😂
Lol! I know, that's why I corrected my mistake with text. I was supposed to say 1". Thanks for watching!
that shirt rules
Right!? Thank you for watching!
Buzz that big EZ on top and watch the toilet flush!!
Yep! Love me that toilet flush! Thank you for watching!
Thanks again Lou, I use the Senkos a lot. I tried that Thumper, it is a tough plastic, a beast. Big Bite Baits makes one almost identical to it and a lot softer that I been using. Thanks
Appreciate you for watching. The CPF Thumper does have a version, similar to an ElaZtech plastic, that's very tough and durable. One Thumper can last you several outings!
what's the difference between the XG and HG i have the HG
The gear ratio is different. The HG is a 7.2 gear ratio vs the XG is 8.2. Thank you for watching!
Xg retrieves more on each crank
Appreciate the additional information. Thanks for watching.
What does the MGL stand for
Just got the slx dc new to baitcasters why does my dc not freewheel like your reel
You get lovely sturdy straws from lollipops. I use them all the time. They even come in other colors.
Appreciate the tip. Thank you for watching.
Why not treble hooks?
That's an excellent question, and I discussed all of that in this video -> ua-cam.com/video/_UmowUM1vkM/v-deo.html Thank you for watching, and I appreciate the question! 👊🏼
Been fishing Flukes from the beginning. Original version is best by far! No need to get technical. I've seen people who have never bass fished in their lives catch them like it's a "Fluke"! Go Get Em!!!
The original rigging method is effective no doubt, but it's susceptible to tearing quickly after a few bass. This method allows me to catch more bass per fluke. Plus I can catch more peacock bass with the treble hook, because peas are known to swipe at lures a lot. Appreciate your comment, thank you for watching!
I break out the rattle trap first and last. Its gives me something to do while its slow.
Rattle trap is an effective lure! Can't throw it where I was fishing, waaay to much submerged vegetation. Appreciate you for watching!
I may give this a try, I like the fluke and would like to be able to fish it in a non conventional way.Great video.
Happy you liked the video. Remember to check back in if you try this rigging method. I'm curious if you're going to like it or not. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like a pice of shit to me
One thing I’ve found really helpful for bigger swim baits is changing from split rings to heavy braided line to hold the hooks to the bait. They let the hook twist a lot more than split rings so that the fish can’t leverage the hooks out with the weight of the bait.
Appreciate the information. Thank you for sharing! 👊🏼
Too much hook exposure to catch slop and get snagged.
True, fortunately, I was fishing around open water, making this type of rigging effective. Thanks for watching!
