    Thanks again Lou, I use the Senkos a lot. I tried that Thumper, it is a tough plastic, a beast. Big Bite Baits makes one almost identical to it and a lot softer that I been using. Thanks

      Appreciate you for watching. The CPF Thumper does have a version, similar to an ElaZtech plastic, that's very tough and durable. One Thumper can last you several outings!

    Superglue would go a long way if you’re having issue with the straw staying in place. A bottom stinger treble would get the same result, but this would last longer

    Been fishing Flukes from the beginning. Original version is best by far! No need to get technical. I've seen people who have never bass fished in their lives catch them like it's a "Fluke"! Go Get Em!!!

      The original rigging method is effective no doubt, but it's susceptible to tearing quickly after a few bass. This method allows me to catch more bass per fluke. Plus I can catch more peacock bass with the treble hook, because peas are known to swipe at lures a lot. Appreciate your comment, thank you for watching!

    I may give this a try, I like the fluke and would like to be able to fish it in a non conventional way.Great video.

    Hi Capt. Lou! I have to say I've been waiting several years to see someone finally make a YT video on the line through fluke. For swimming style baits, it's definitely the most realistic presentation I can think of. If you don't mind me adding another tip, there's a way to make it even more so, by adding a cylinder weight! This setup gives the fluke the ability to start and stop like real bait fish, while sinking in a horizontal position with the action of a wacky rig. For more side to side hunting and darting, start the line-through above the nose or eyes.
    Add the cylinder weight after/under the fluke and before the hook. Leave it free for small weights or use a bobber stop(s)/toothpick/wedged rubber for the heavier weights, leaving the smallest gap between the weight and the knot.
    On a tight line or when imparting action, the cylinder weight will rise up and forward, stopping just underneath the front of the fluke at the bottom end of line-through opening. This allows the bait to "start"/dart forward because the center of gravity is also momentarily thrust forward with the line. However, immediately on a slack line, the weight will drop backward to below the knot, along with the center of gravity, and suddenly stop the fluke because it cancels most of the forward momentum. Because it will hang below the mid section of the fluke, it will also have the subtle action of a wacky rig while it sinks, but with a forward glide and still being in a horizontal position.
    If you want to see it in action underwater (in my pool), I posted some YT shorts of this line through fluke rig, that I call the "Slacker Rig", more than a year ago on my channel. it's an amazing rig!

    You get lovely sturdy straws from lollipops. I use them all the time. They even come in other colors.

    are you using any weight on that rig ???, would it suit a carolina or ???

    • @BassinwithCaptLou
      @BassinwithCaptLou  2 місяці тому

      I use very little weight in some circumstances. In one of the clips I had a 1/32 loose on the line. To answer the second part of your question. I would not throw this rig on a Carolina rig. You run the risk of getting hung up often. Appreciate you for watching! 👊🏼

    Cool but not Tribble hook makes look differnt and turn body of bait making a differnt motion in water. Single hook be better and you have to retie every time fluke is no longer any good?
