Daub was traditionally made with whatever was regionally avaliable, normally some mix of mud, clay, straw, horse hair and horse or cow manure.

All NHL lime is terrible for restoration of old buildings or for brickwork, mortar, plaster, render. It is best to use lime putty made from quicklime. All the misinformation about NHL put on the internet by those invested in NHL. ONLY new buildings that will ONLY have lime or hard stone should use NHL.

Not how you apply it at all, do figure 8 brush patterns or Xs. Never brush in straight lines with limewash. Also should only take 3 coats, not sure what he is doing. Also, if using a pigment make sure its designed to be used with lime as not all are by any means.

How to mix if not ready mix? Meaning what is the ingredients? And how much in contrast to each other? As if we baking a cake. Im surprised this is not more talked about. Rhis ahould be numeral. Uno. Remember the reason we have not been doing this for hundreds of years is because of greed. Its crazy. The story is sad. Now let us allow the information out to everyone. Let us not hold back any information. Lets not make the mistakes of our past. Amyway. You make it by mixing lime and hemp that has been cut up into like wood chip texture. Or even sawdust i suppose. Or can use bigger chucks depends on the application ... at least this is my guess. You cant really mess this up. 😂. So cool . And do you use a lime base paint? That would be Great for this. Perfect. Lots if air. But dont seem like your getting total benifites if hemp if you simply useing woid chip shape piece. I mean so whats the difference of simply useing chips? 😂

because it is not good. The best is to make lime putty by slaking quicklime. It is better than all NHL lime for restoration of old buildings and for brick work.
