My passions are old school BMX, GT Freestyle bikes from the 80’s, RC cars (Tamiya), and guitars.and Oh and in the late 90’s to early 2000’s I owned a 1995 Thunderbird LX with a 2000 Mustang GT (PI) engine and an Allen Engine Development supercharger. Eaton M90S made 9-10 psi of boost. The car ran mostly low 13’s at 105 mph with the best of 12.79 @ 109 mph. That car was fun. The people I met in the T-Bird and Cougar MN12 community were next level. Car is long gone but the memories remain. I dedicate my videos to these subjects. I hope you enjoy and spend some time watching my videos!

The FS Stamp Meaning - GT

The true meaning of the FS stamp on the GT bikes. Its origin and what it means to the community. FS simply means Freestyle. It was used on the original Performer to differentiate it from the racing bikes. That carried over to the other freestyle frames like the Pro Performer, the Pro World Tour, the Pro Freestyle Tour and the Team Model. Not all of the frames received the FS stamp. bmxmuseum.co...

The Dia Compe 882L VS the Dia Compe 883
Переглядів 1,1 тис.11 місяців тому
This video is dedicated to the differences between the Dia Compe FS882L and the Dia Compe 883. The basic principles are the 883 is and was always equipped with a 7mm pivot Allen bolt and the 882L was the more economical version of the 883 with a 6mm pivot bolt. Hence all acorn or cone nut 883’s without the Allen bolt are essentially 882L’s. Enjoy the video!

Man times were tough! 😂 They probably wanted a college degree with 3 years of experience to photograph those bikes also. Lol Nobody cared about all these little differences back then. We just wanted the bike we wanted. I personally never met a person who wanted bubble gum pink. I'll always love the blue.
Such a great video! Helped me a ton
@@poolboy3000 awesome! Glad to help. Hit the like button and subscribe!
Your videos are great. Actually informative. I’ve had about enough of these guys bragging about how much they overpaid for a PFT.
@@donniebrasco4114 lol well thank you very much
What years were Gen 4 produced? 94-96? Also it sounds like they were all chrome plated. I believe the set I have here are aluminum.
Working on my dayglo yellow 88’ pft now. All whiteout. Thanks for the video
That sounds awesome!
@ well, Ill catch some flak from the purists. Its a 89 performer coinroll f/f/bars that Ive had since 92’. The chrome was decent but I never liked chrome. (No 990 mounts) It all started when I found an 88 PFTT orange and green fluor decal set. Im a blacklight nut…I did a test over a neon yellow sample and was inspired from there. Its my 10th 80s bike but I have a $2-3k cap on any bike. Ill be happy with as close as I can get. Psyched that Porkchop has Gt seats now. Its a frankenPFT and Ill avoid scolding by listing it as a Performer on the Museum. Never thought Id get one with the pricetag on that model. Im in Brooklyn.. my most coveted gems are renovated Kuwahara Bravo Kt and a Bravo team models… thanks!
@ nice! Are you on the BMXMUSEUM? Would love to see some of these creations. Also I thought PC was sold out of the 2123 GT seats at least in white. Black probably not too far behind or out of stock now. With GT in limbo and on pause I doubt PC will get the license renewed for another batch with logos. But…but… you could always use the none logo 2123 seats he has for sale and put a decal on it.
@ I have an ongoing note to take photos and upload bikes. Im more of a tinkerer than sharer. For years Ive only referenced and bought parts on the museum. I definitely will though and I also have a list of everyone Ive bought major parts to share what Ive done with them. I chat with people there often and enjoy the network. Same with youtubers that share collections and bike stuff. The coinroll f/f has been at the powder man in Brownsville for months. Hes done other bikes for me so I trust him. Hes a family man and I told him to “make money first, no rush”. I have a white GT logo seat I ordered in may before the news but I did order 6 more Gt tires and two sets of Power series cranks. An extra pair in case I ever find a Dyno Pro Compe Id do in fluor orange. A rocky economy may be on the way and my wife is already tolerant of my 10 existing bikes😝so we’ll see about that. I do want a pink GT seat for a franken 88 Haro Sport in pink and teal thats awesome but wacky. The pink dominator just isnt doing it for me. I guess I better get it. I thought those seats would stay in production because its PC. Bummer! . Ill hit you with a link when I finally get photos uploaded. Im laid off for 2 more weeks so hopefully it happens.
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I bought this album when it first came out. And I was a huge Faith No More fan in the 90s! You forced me to go search and dig out my old albums 🤘 Also, another good video showcasing the bikes 👍
Faith no more was good stuff. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Was this a different version of the day glow green or is yours a better shot of it? ua-cam.com/video/IPs2XLolWH8/v-deo.htmlsi=mazTs9mZHgwitNQO
@damonsmith290 First things first, thanks for watching and commenting. Now let’s get your question, in the link you posted Kevin Jones is actually riding a Dyno Pro Compe, 1989. It is Dayglo yellow which is the same Dayglo yellow that was used on the dozen or so 1989 PFT. However they are not the same bikes obviously, so no it was not what was used in my video.
Can tell you that those power series cranks are NOT original finish.
@@Sparky210-11 probably not. When I made the video years and years ago I didn’t know the difference between OG finish and not. Now I’m aware. Comparing them to a survivor set on my 1988 PFTTM it is very obvious. However when I bought the cranks from the seller he assured me they were original finish and came off a Pro Series TM. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes, tomorrow is not guaranteed so go build that $5000 BMX bike you always wanted! Good job man. 🤙
Yea buddy!!

Super dope bro. I remember these little tiny like finger bikes in like the 90s my cousin had as a magnet. It was a pink 87 Gt and I can never find anything about them on the Internet, but I did look at the dude who’s selling the one that you got really good work they’re like they’re kinda expensive but they’re super cool.

Nice… i always catch your videos. My favorite colors were Maui Blue and Battleship Grey. But me on the other hand, as far as builds, I’m worn out on 87 PFTs, I’m now building a 91 team aggressor (matte black) and a matching 91 team PFT (matte white). I’m searching for an 89 aggressor now. But I’ve built a 90 team aggressor also. I ride newer stuff, but been building very early 90s. Nothing newer than 91. Museum- OutlawinTX

"""\GT/""" #1 great 👍 video
Man I'd kill to have one of those heritage series GT's.. Unfortunately I was late to the game. Really thinking about getting a "24 version though, a Dyno Pro Compe perhaps, if I can find one at close to MSRP.. The ol' 20"ers are a bit small on me these days, lol.
Great video. Is the M8 bolt the same bolt that fits the GT mallet stem?
Wagner it is. M8x1.25x25mm for the Mallet stem. The ‘88 Gooseneck stem uses two different length cap screws just FYI. Longer in the back near the quill and shorter in the front. Also McMaster-Carr is not my primary source for my Allen cap screws. They sometimes only have the smooth finish heads without the lines like the OG bolts. But if you are using them in a Mallet stem it won’t matter.
Congrats on hitting 1000 subs!! 🎊
Thanks Wagner! Crazy fast year. Can’t wait to see your new builds for 2025.

Happy New Year Tony!
Happy new year!
I thought I was the only person who was vain enough to line up my valves with the logo on the tires 😂!
Tony do you know if Dyno was the same (ie. the Made in US got powder coated and the Orient painted) around 87? But actually you’re right, I don’t recall seeing any Made in Taiwan (or Japan, for that matter) bike powder coated out of the box back in the day…
Monkist all the DG colors were powdered coated. It was just too difficult to maintain uniform coating and get the dayglo colors with liquid paint. Dyno Pro Compe, Slammers, Team models etc that were serial numbered all numerically were always powder coated. Any serial numbers with letters in them points to being made in the orient regardless if Dyno, Robinson, GT etc. Those bikes would have been either powder or liquid paint.
@ thank you! So you mean even some of the Far Eastern ones were powder coated? Was it random, or depended on the factory maybe?
Great video, I have my original 88 PFST Team that came with Superlace wheels, however I wanted a free coaster by the early 90s and was fortunate to find a store in the UK that had the Gen One Coaster hub at clearance rate. I modded it to run s a freecoaster and it's still on the bike now which is fully restored. Wild looking hub that gives the bike an extra bit of uniqueness!
Wait, you are advocating putting a set of $20 bearings on a $30 motor? That's near 70% of the cost of a new motor. How much longer will they run on bearings and how does a $50 modifies entry level brush motor compare to other motors already with bearings? I have questions.....😊
@@broderp I don’t have the answers for you. lol. Motor has been running hard for many moons. That’s all.
Great build bro! congratulations
@@freddymedina774 thanks so much! Thanks for watching and commenting.
fun fact: the 89 aggressor appears on the back cover of the 1990 catalog.
Excellent info, love the dimensional references. I did not put two and two together until this video about the difference on Gen2 to Gen3 on the hub shape opposite of the drive side, very cool identifier. Kept thinking loose ball versus sealed. It is funny that the Gen2 which isn't in repop and more "rare" trades for less than Gen1s currently. I've only gotten one set of Gen2s on my Blue 88 PP and will definitely double check the protrusion of the bearing due to the change in the cut back. Great video as always and cool you guys spend the time to help us all figure it out as old handbooks/drawings of the actual components I've never seen to date! Thanks Tony :)
Awesome Tony! Congrats once again on winning the build off!🏆
Thank you so much 👍
@ not at all, you deserve it! 👏
Good info as always!! Thanks.
I just refer to the 48s as “high flange 48s”. I have those on my 94, 95 pfts. Superlace on my 90 and 91 team Aggressor and my 91 PFT.
thx man! insightful stuff here when we go to make this purchase!
Hello , im wondering if you found out any more info on the 1990 crash test decals? And would you assume or expect them to be rare in a good sense ? I appreciate your time
I have not found out why GT made the change to the decals mid way through the 1990 year. But the more common decals out there are the first half of the year…the crash test or hazard style. The second half are more rare and I’ve only seen one set of NOS decals but I’ve seen a few sets of the hazard style. So the second half are more difficult to find and therefore more rare. By July 1990 GT was already starting to make 1991 models and you could find the 1991 Performer with 1990 manufacture serial numbers. That means that in the calendar year 1990 there were three completely different style decals. Obviously the 1991 decals belong on the 1991 models but just a cool fun fact. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@atrains thank you good work
It has been verified that GT bubble Font logo chains are made by WS out of Taiwan. They are not Izumi and are not KMC. Just be aware.

Yea that guy probably got scammed with those drop outs. I’ve had quite a few original PFTs and never seen those thick drop outs.
@@badassomar “Real Team Model” with repop GT power series cranks, wrong pedals, new gyro cables, I think those are Tech 77 levers, repop or aftermarket fork standers and who knows what Gen those Superlace hubs are but they aren’t Gen 1. But it’s a real team model! 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah, it seems obvious now that the rear dropouts on the bike in that video were modified. Not sure why he'd make the claim that it makes it a true "Team Model".
@@ChrisWong13 The best part is his “true team model” has reproduction GT Power Series cranks, replaced Gyro cables, aftermarket forkstanders, not sure what Generation the superlace are but they are not Gen 1. Plus a bunch of other stuff I noticed but didn’t want to call him out on it.
