This looks AMAZING (if you'll pardon the pun) This is far better than anything I can currently do. I'd be very interested to see how you tackle modeling the ORIGINAL Ultimate Spider-Man from the early 2000s.

Can you show us a detailed character modelling from start to finish ?
Okay, am assuming you mean a real time video where I explain each process, correct? I can try making a video like that, I'll reuse some old footage in real time and explain my process though in the mean time check out Yansculpts especially his older videos, he's where I leant my fundamentals. But I'll also make a video for you. If there's anything you'd want me to focus on the most lemme know and I'll do my best. Am currently editing two timelapses I plan to post early next month.

How long did it take you to create it? Aside from the animation
I'd say roughly between 7 and 9 hours, there abouts. Mainly because I used a previous character I'd already sculpted to give me a head start.

sculpting or using polygons for character creation? which is a better modern way?
I'd say sculpting is the more modern approach as it came after traditional poly modeling and is more common in production these days. That being said the method being used to create your models will depend greatly on things like level of detail, the purpose of the character. For example you're producing a low poly style kids show, you'll definitely go the poly modelling route, or like a lego show, am sure the characters have one base model that was made using the poly approach all they ever change are the textures. Am sorry for the long response but sculpting is more common these days but the poly modelling is still in use on characters, so better will depend greatly on what you're producing ultimately. If you're in the Tripple A gaming space for example it's more likely they'll be using sculpting to utilize high details which is better for this case. If you're in the indie gaming space chances are you'll be using poly modelling for your characters which is better in this case as most indie games that are 3d don't really utilize high fidelity character models and are more focused on gameplay. I hope i answered your question but i can articulate myself better in my next video, i'll address this question again.

in most studios, sculpting is the goto, because you can achieve a result much faster, then simply use ZRemesh (from zbrush) to quickly reduce the poly count and give a model with reasonable vertex count to the technical animators who can already create a rig not having to wait for a fully retopologized model. Keep in mind, that in the games pipeline every stage is dependent on the previous one, and you can't make animations or gameplay without 3d models, so you need them ASAP. a 3d artist will be much quicker, sculpting and automatically remeshing the sculpt than trying to poly-model with good topology. and there is no point of poly-modelling "dirty" (i.e. with bad topology) because if you have to retopologize anyway, why not retopologize a high poly mesh with lots of detail rather than one with little detail?
@@thomasmann4536 you're right, I think it would be better to add that most studios in the triple A gaming space if we're talking game studios. I don't know about zbrush but I know in blender you can work in reverse, you can have the base mesh with clean topology add a multires then sculpt on top of that. What you're saying is true if you are in that triple A game space or block buster movies. But there are certain designs that are too simplistic that it would be faster to use model sheets to model them out because they aren't gunning for high detailed models, and that will mainly fall on the character designers to provide the turn tables. I sculpt my anime fanarts cause am going for a certain look but other blender artists here just poly model them cause they want that 2d feel when they add their toon shaders. Again you're correct, am just stating that the approach to the characters will be determined by the aesthetic they are going for.

Hi, apologies for the late reply but i currently don't have a tutorial on this but i can make a video down the line if you're interested in my settings specifically which are honestly nothing special, my main brushes are mainly the clay strip, snake hook, crease, grab and occasionally inflate. but i can recommend a tutorial ua-cam.com/video/9N87-yRR5aE/v-deo.htmlsi=-PVJayfigFcYtM9i or check out Yansculpts right here on youtube he has a sculpting playlist though i believe it was for an older version of blender the voxel remesh hadn't been introduced when he was making that series but i still recommend it because he drops some gems i still incorporate in my workflow to this day plus he's highly skilled. I do hope this helps.

Hey nice work. His skin looks really alive Idk if you used a different color for this model or what but I dig it. He looks tall as hell too it fits him. Also liked the evil eyes and smile. And that waist is unbelievably small damn it almost looks unreal. It reminds me of Brian Buchanan. His hair looked like it was receding at first but good thing you fixed that up later too. Edit: Also if you ever make any future animations with Jack you could up the size of the model a bit since he’s 8 foot tall (243cm).

@@lwitiko_the_creative Yeah no problem dude. You’ll soon be able to start recreating fights from the show/manga with the roster you’re making. The only thing I have to point out with Jack is his waist really it gets distorted when his legs spread out like in the fight at beginning of the video. I think it might be that it’s way too small you know. But yeah don’t forget to work on projects you like (and to like the process too) so you don’t get burn out. And what do you mean hair cards?

did you use the mimic tool to create the other half of the body? Or did you sculpt the entire body by memory? you are really good at anatomy!

😂😂 I tried to clean up the mesh with retopo, but the mesh isn't too heavy it's manageable.
I had reference of the character on my second monitor, so I was observing then sculpting with the mirror modifier on, I didn't get the likeness but it's good practice. And thank you. I can sculpt generic anatomy from memory but for fanarts, I Always have reference on my second monitor.
what settings you uses for sculpting ?
It really depends, cause I tweak the brush intensities though my tablet does have pressure sensitivity I still prefer some manual control with the sensitivity still on I hope that makes sense. But the more details I add the more I increase the pressure and mesh density with remesh. The one I do know is my grab brush I keep it at around 0.2. I also make sure that the viewport focal length is between 80 and 100. I hope that helps, if not just lemme know and I'll try to be more specific.
