My YAMAHA BOLT | Overview & Intro Baron Slip-on
How old is your bike? Was it used or bought from New? And the biggest question are they original white wall tyre's and how old are they? Only saying that by process of elimination the first thing I would check if there is "wobble" is tyre pressure, tyre age and tyre condition. I don't know if you did any of that as a step one as I don't know your videos, but a lot of guys buy these motorcycles used and the "death wobble" comes up a lot, so I would start with the simple fix first 1) is it tyre pressure? 2) is it tyre condition? 3)is it tyre age? rather than jumping into a major mechanical fix that may not have been necessary. I'm not saying it isn't anything major, but again a simple process of elimination could save you a lot of time and money.
They look sick btw
Is it hard to wire up ? Or is it plug and play
Sweeper exhaust 🤙
"Velocitized" is the term the cop used on me...
@@joestevenson7938 lol sorry to hear brother
Cheers! Fyi that dimple on the switch housing is just for the factory to quickly assemble the controls and not have to rotate or line anything up. That is why we dont drill the hole in the bars. It gives people options to rotate their controls to how they see fit. You can drill the hole in the bars or grind the nub off the switch housing. Which ever is easier for the person installing the bars. Thanks for the vid and support!
Good looks, thanks a ton. I didn't realize that was why you did that. I'll be sure to update that on one of my next videos. Thanks for the bars
Is that the mustang tripper fastback seat? How do you like/recommend it?
No it is not the mustang seat. This is the predator z1r, and its shit dont buy it lol
I don’t get in to the Harley woke shit. I ride to ride, fuck everyone else, I ride what I want to ride. Don’t like it, I don’t give a shit.
That's wild that your first was a Maxim. I currently own my Maxim XJ650. Gonna turn it in to a café bike, but I've been considering a Bolt as the replacement for the everyday cruiser.
@@Ghostwolf91 hahaha great minds think alike. I wish I kept that bike, seriously sick. Clean the carbs and gunk it’s pretty roudy.

I owned a 2018 Bolt and loved it. I don't really think it's under powered I think it lacks 6th gear. I ended up getting a Dyna but got to ride a few Indians. You should look into a Scout. Maybe a Sport Scout or the Scout 101 those rip. I've ridden all types of bikes sport bikes and cruisers. They feel like a good mix of both.
@@TheDans7300 thanks for the insight, brother. I really like the scouts. Look and sound great too

im thinking about doing those handles on my bolt. How do they feel compared to stock, also do they help with wind a little?
@@Crims0nMinotaur I never had the stock ones, but I’d assume these are slightly less comfy than the stock only because of height. I don’t think they help with wind but they look real nice lol
How was the long ride on the bolt? Any complaints about seating or wrist comfort? Too much vibration? Not enough power?
@@hewhostaysgolden9312 Honestly, after about an hour it starts to become difficult. Mostly the seat, but I think if I got another it would resolve many issues. Wrist hurts a little but nothing that prevents me from riding. It’s a fun bike to go on long trips with but just make sure you take periodic breaks in my opinion.
I’ve owned dual sports, super Moto, r6, cbr1000rr, street triple, and zx14r. But I’ve been really leaning to get a Bolt. I’m no longer into the speed, I just want something that looks nice and is comfortable to commute with. Am I making a mistake?
@@hewhostaysgolden9312 if you’re really not after speed and looking for comfort then yes. Bolt is sportier riding triangle, not the best suspension but looks sweet. I think it’s more comfortable than any of those bikes you had tho.
The main reason they don't liquid cool the bolt is because it is made as a budget clone of the harley sportster evo.
@@MjS-zb6jr yea I understand. But it would be sick if they put effort into a super machine. Already a sick bike and with a few factory mods it would absolutely rip
@SkipRides the idea behind it is that, like the harley sportster evo, the Yamaha bolt is a fantastic base for people to start with and turn it into something completely unique to them.
You would be right, but a bolt with a 6 speed and bigger engine would be amazing. Maybe call it bolt and washer 😂😂😂.
UPS is far more reliable than FedEx. I"m 62 & have seen a lot more than you have. FedEx is THE WORST. Too much face, Skip. Be careful.
I have an SCR950, and it is easily fast enough. The 59 ft/lb of torque peaks at 3,000 rpm. In other words, you're always on it. If you don't know what an SCR950 is google it.

Is it ok for the engine to remove it? Would I need to tune my bolt?
@@Mc_Rc it’s “ok” but not for a while. Could burn a valve, and you lose a lot of power. Even with a tune that’s super rich. You need back pressure (baffle)

How does the bolt do at higher speeds, like 80-95? Planning to pick one of these up, but I take the toll rode a lot here in Texas and the speed limit is 80-85mph

I own an MT09SP, it weighs about 420 lbs, I see the FTR weighs 514 lbs. Have you looked at a Triumph 765 Street Triple R or RS? Kawasaki Z900? When I consider the supersports, the cost of insurance is a huge factor in the decision process.

Hey Skip. For mufflers and your heat shields, Use "Stove Paint" .... The same paint that's used on wood burning stoves. It's a Matt finish and creates no VOC's when it gets hot...... I'm thinking that the gloss stuff you used is going to blister eventually, ..... Nuff said. Ciao.

Look into the new Indian Scouts
They've always intrigued me. The new sport scout is more my speed. Idk if you saw, but they're making a limited sportier scout with RSD. Coming out soon
@@SkipRides You mean the Forged series? That's about 3 people (brands) that make a special version of the scout. Indian did that also when the Sport Chief was released.
@@kur3922 damnit, yes I do mean that. RSD looks to be making something sweet but I realize I won't be able to purchase it... :(
@@SkipRides well, perhaps someday it can be bought. Don't know for which purpose they build it now. Past time it was for someone in particular... 🤞🏻😉
Front brake single rotor 2 piston, rear single rotor single piston, ( aka typical 70 F : 30 R brake setting %'s ). At 5252 rpm HP = Torque... So at say 5780 rpm, you are now pulling 65 ponies. Top end 4th gear is 90 mph.... so a typical fast merge into traffic works best if you run up to 70 in fourth and then go to fifth..... I digress. Stay Safe
1, 2 piston front and 1, 1 piston rear is adequate (barely) for riding around but anything after that it’s just dangerous. However, it definitely doesn’t reach 65hp. At most this bike has 62. I’m not looking for the top end to be @90, but rather I just want some breathing room up there. Love this bike and it has some power but I’d say at least 40% of motorcycles have more power and I’d like to join that population.
Looks great! What size bars? Also how tall are you? Trying to figure out what size to get for my height.
Thanks, man! I got the 10” bars and I’m 5’11”. I wish I got a little taller if I’m being honest. Also, I forgot to mention in the video I bought the washers that connect to the triple tree. Use these dressup.motorcycles/product/310-parts-handlebar-hardmount-kit/

@@levijenkins4493 for sure 👍 let me know how it goes
Go for the mt09, I upgraded to a xsr900 (which is the same as an mt09 in a different trim) after owning a bolt as my fist road bike. It's excellent. The great torque lets you keep up with much "faster" bikes untill you're going way faster than you should be anyways.
Appreciate the comment man. I agree the toque in the bolt is shocking. I love it so much.
gave you a full view and a like brothaman put this as an extra comment to boost the engagement algo for you :)
Bro thank you so much. Ur a real one for that
you try modding it brotha? I wonder how much HP boost there is with an emissions delete + opening up the airbox and exhausts and remapping the ECU? For your next bike i HIGHLY recommend a supermoto. THE absolute most fun you can have on a bike and theyre soooo easy to control with your body. I have a husky 701 supermoto and its 2.7 0-60 with my mods. wheelies up to 60mph :D and goes offroad = cruises down the highway at 85-90 all day with power to spare up to 130
Damn thing sounds like it rips. Good looks. Are you running slicks on it for tires? Like the sick supermoto tires? I’ll have to try one out appreciate you
I have it fully tuned with super map. Air intake and exhaust. Ecu reflash and tune
@@SkipRides oh wow nice bro sounds like you had fun with it! Love it! Yeah definitely time for an upgrade then xD should help it sell y too and I run Michelin Anakee Adventures on it. The perfect tire if you do 50% on road and 50% off road. They feel almost like racing slicks on the road with how much they grip, and they can handle almost everything off road as well as a knobby aside from wet grass and mud (but they're surprisingly stable on both)
