Don't Build "Self-Confidence", Build This Instead...
Recently, I came across a mindset shift that truly resonated with me: instead of striving to build 'self-confidence,' we should focus on cultivating 'self-trust.' Trust is much easier to define and understand than confidence. By treating ourselves as someone we want to earn trust from, we can naturally grow into the confident version of ourselves over time.

Unfortunately, ignorance of laws isn't a valid defence. However you are correct, it is very pernicious 💯
48 Hours is like skipping : 16 hours worth of sleep , anywhere 4 ~ 8 meals shed off your body.
I feel like patience and perspective is key because the algorithm can be temperamental. I am still very small but even I notice at this level that it's all about what the system pushes. Some videos stay completely silent and then they kind of go on a run. Some get pushed immediately and then taper off. It's kind of wild!
@@YawdroGaming Absolutely mate! The algorithm is everything and we can’t control that. I like “patience and perspective” good advice! 🙂
If you run a business and don’t know the basics of taxes with HMRC I’ve got the feeling you will not be on business for long.
"You are your niche" is a great tip! I'm going to keep that phrase in mind.
Glad you liked it! Another one I like is “if you never give up, it’s impossible to fail” 😊
I launched my channel a few days ago and expected it to take months to get even one or two subscribers. But I'm already up to 129 subs, thousands of views, and loads of comments too. I've heard of other people getting this initial 'spike' and then their channel stalls for months, so I'm hoping that isn't what's going to happen!
@@DroneAudits that’s awesome mate! Congrats!! Keep going and I’m sure you’ll get over any “stall” (if it happens 😊) Best of luck!
Pure evil this country has become a pure joke we need some sensible people in politics we was about to get them Jeremy corbin George gollaway but masess are stupid they voted the same side of coin labour Tories bull crap
48 h is nice, but not worth it. Try always 72 h, for activating the complete autophagy. The hours after 60 h are upmost important
@@skynet66kbr To maximise autophagy absolutely 👍 but I kept to 48 hours to try and preserve muscle mass more. I’m probably going to give 72hrs a try next time, thanks for the advice 😊
@ yes, try, I started with 14:10, in 6 weeks warrior, 20:4, after one week stablelizing I ran into it and the effect was just great. Anyway, keep it up👍🙂
😮
Great video 🎉 I fast 24 hours once a week and started doing dry fasting as well (allegedly a 24 hour dry fast is equal to a 72 hour water fast)
What about inflammation ? Does it help in anyway ?
From what I have read, yes, fasting can be helpful for inflammation. This might help as a starting point www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/how-fasting-can-reduce-disease-risk-by-lowering-inflammation#:~:text=Researchers%20say%20fasting%20can%20do,metabolic%20inflammatory%20syndrome%20called%20metaflammation. 🙏
@ Thankyou for replying
The benefits cited are 1. fat loss 2. mental clarity 3. boosted immune system 4. improved metabolic health 5. improved relationship with food 6. you'll spend less money on food He doesn't actually cite sources for any of this, so take it with a grain of salt.
It’s been cited many times by many people. And yes, take a train of salt with your water while fasting to hydrate better.
general question - Is there anything to be considered if one fasts after a 1000 calorie meal, as opposed to fasting after a 5000 calorie meal? are the benefits equal? -thanks in advance
From what I've researched I'd say not too much difference, the amount of time to digest a meal is similar. It's been my experience that eating a huge meal doesn't ward off hunger for a much longer time either, but that's anecdotal on my part. For fasting I eat a decent sized, nutritional meal beforehand, without going over the top. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's experience with this
@@perpetualrenovation thank you. I think I have experienced the same - doesnt matter the size of the last meal, still get hungry about the same time, same ferocity later after/during the fast.
What time do you start your fast, I feel that fasting after dinner is easier but fasting after breakfast makes the first night very difficult due to hunger pangs
My last fast was after dinner which I think is a good way to do it because it means by the time you wake up in the morning you are already about 12-14 hours in. You are right, sleeping that second evening will be tough. I think if you started your 48 hour fast in the morning you would have 2 hungry nights which would be hard to manage.
Congratulations. For now my longest fast was 28 hour.
Thanks a lot ! How did you feel after the 28 hour fast? 😊
@WhatWorked4Me Quite well. I only fast regular, every day for 8 weeks. I'm impressed how good it's feel.
It’s the worst place to be a worker is Britain
Can’t you just pay your tax what your due each year instead of HAVING to give them 1.5x more? That makes people not want to be self employed..
This has been like this for years. Nothing new. You can apply to reduce your payments on account to nill of you believe that your income will be reduced the following year; but yeah it’s basically pants isn’t it
Pure evil
A lot of people who contract have to pay 20% on everything up front and then claim refund on tax return.
Its daylight robbery
As a pensioner, I just found out about this yesterday when I had to pay £1012 tax for last year. Because I exceeded the £1000 limit by £12, I have had to pay another £506 now, and I'll have to pay the same again in July. Then I'll probably end up getting a smallish refund next year. p.s. I paid online yesterday, then this video popped up on my UA-cam today. Is that just coincidence?
if only WE could have a cosy lunch with the taxman to "agree" what we'll pay like rich people do, along with all their tax dodges that are AVAILABLE for THEM
Tax grab
UK Tax is a scam
Tax laws can be so complex, and it’s super helpful to break them down like this. Understanding how different policies can impact our finances is crucial for making informed decisions.
Making profitable investments during this time of political change can be risky without that insight. For me, working with an adviser is the best first step to navigate these complexities and make informed choices.
People often overlook the value of financial advisors until they experience the downside of emotional decision-making. I recall a few summers ago, after a difficult divorce, when I needed help reviving my struggling business. I did some research and found a licensed advisor who worked diligently to grow my reserves, even amid inflation. As a result, my reserves grew from $285k to around $720k.
Hmmm this is quite interesting, Please can you leave the info of your investment advisor here? I’m in dire need for one.
Finding financial advisors like Lisa Grace Myer ” who can assist you shape your portfolio would be a very creative option. There will be difficult times ahead, and prudent personal money management will be essential to navigating them.
Thank you for this tip. It was easy to find your coach on web. Did my due diligence on her before scheduling a phone call with her. She seems proficient considering her resume.
You can adjust the PoA on your tax return. It’s almost the last question that gets asked. If your next year’s income is going to be much less then you can pay a lower PoA for next year. However, you are right that if you expect a similar income from your business next year then the PoA will need to be £2000 in your example. It is eye watering the first tax return that you do.
The government are outright thieves taking our money by threat of fines and punishments. They are a criminal cartel operating an extortion racket. All self employed should hold onto their own money. Fxck the government and the inland revenue.
Thank you for this. I’m considering doing some self employed work for the first time. I’m retired and have a pension but I need to earn a bit more. I didn’t know anything about this tax rule but now I’m prepared. Thanks again 🙏
Good luck!!
Great video :) <rant incoming> I just got hit with this also, the system is appalling - stuff that is never taught at school and simply used to rob you of as much as possible. You do essentially need to pay the gov in advance for the next year (based on the last year ) - so nice they get the interest and spaff it on frivolous junk PPE anyone? - lawyers against post masters anyone ? - The UK appears to be more and more anti-business, anti-competitive, anti-hard work reward - and the whole country is getting poorer because of it. We are one of the oldest democracies, we should be a shining example of quality of life and reward for hard work -what went wrong ? Frozen tax bands, increasing business liability, paralysing employment law - where does it stop ? Seems like a race to the bottom - how do I get out 8o ?
If you know the tax you owe is going to be lower than last year, you can ask HMRC (online) to reduce payments on account.

Wow, I had no idea that this video would lead to such a discussion in the comments 🙏 There are some great suggestions in the comments below on how to handle this. Thanks so much to everyone for the support! Cheers
well presented, thanks. It is no different to electric and gas service providers! 15yrs a fulltime carer for my elderly Mum, carers allowance and her pension to live on. Passed away in 23 and at 60 I now have start again, its daunting! I had to cash my £8k pension pot in to live as probate were taking too long, a year. Granted now there is a small inheritance which I planned to live on as its going to take a good two years to clear the estate and sell the house. The issue is that selling on an online auction site I have been told to register for self assessment, sales nearing £1k, or have sales stopped. The inheritance and my pension pot is tax free and busy clearing the home I will not be working and indeed earning anywhere near the personal tax allowance of just under £12k. This SA has to be done I know as I do have the £1250 tax the pension people paid on the £8k to claim back. I was doing some yearly paper self assessment but around 2012 HM tax wrote to me saying no need to as low earnings. I guess they can not ask for 50% of nothing!
What car do you drive, out of curiosity.
The more complicated a system becomes the more useless lazy civil servants you need to mis run it. keeps the lads in jobs.
The other point to remember is you earn the money in year 1, that is 06-April-year1, to 05-April-year2. You then need to file your SA100 and pay your tax for year1 by 31-Jan-year3, and the POA … the extra 50% you are talking about … is to cover expected earnings in year2, i.e. 06-April-year2 to 05-April-year3, and so you are most of the way through your year2 earnings before you have to pay that POA, and will only have to balanced that up with a second POA in Jul-year3, after the end of that earnings year and then finally ‘evened-up’ by 31-Jan-year4. The other things to consider, is say you earn your additional £10K as per your example, but then unexpectedly earn an additional £50K the following year, but have only made POA based on an excepted £10K, you don’t get penalised for the ‘over-earning’ … but you will get a nice tax bill and following POA request 😮 Which goes back to my first point, if you have a pattern like this you can then make a request to reduce the POA because last year was exceptional … bit note about then getting that wrong and having a second exceptional year 😮
You can put in a request to reduce your payment on account, but you need to take care as if, using your example, you requested to reduce your POA because you were only going to earn an additional £2,000 next year, not £10,000, but then earned £20,000, you could end up with a £100 fine and interest on unpaid tax
You made a mistake of actually paying tax in the first place.
It's not something new so why did it surprise you?
There is also the matter of the loss of interest on the money you are paying up front! I had no knowledge and fell foul of this for the first time this year - it was a nasty shock. My small business now has a serious cash flow problem thanks to HMRC.
It is NOT in advance! You are paying 6 months tax at the point you are 10 months into that tax year. So, at least 4 months in arrears.
Seriously this is bs! Next year they just ask for more! No wonder businesses are leaving
Amazing video this has happened to me first year I made income this year I haven’t and hmrc have predicted on the basis that I would still make the same amount but it’s 0. I called them yesterday and they have agreed to reduce the payments. I can’t wait to close the business and forget the whole thing
Thanks for the kind words mate! Good luck
It came out as a shock to me. I had to borrow to pay the tax. I totally understand your situation.
Thanks for sharing buddy! I hope everything is ok for you now
This is new this year. The last few years it was calculate pay as you expected. From what I understand now if completed by 31st December it could have been possible to add to paye. Seems optimistic to make interest by bringing the due date forward. It is what it is. Next year will be easier. Thank you for sharing as I had to see off it was just a surprise to me.
You don't have to pay payments on account, I just told them no, I want it gaining interest in my account not theirs. So I only paid the correct amount t of tax for that year.
Good video to explain to your customers just why you charge what you charge & how difficult being self employed is hence company rates apply not just an hourly rate! Businesses are there to make profits whereas charities do things at reduced costs or free! I’ve had this in the past payments on account it’s crazy
PAYE pay every month. The self-employed get longer for the first year, but thereafter pay an estimated tax for every 1/2 year albeit 3 months later. If you expect your 2nd year to have a lower profit, you can tell HMRC and pay less, but the scheme is designed to stop people getting in trouble. And remember that the tax return is not "due" on the 31st January, but the the 6th April, so this only causes a problem for those that leave their return to the last minute. You can complete the return in say May and still wait to January and July to pay the tax as normal, but it avoids surprises.
Basically you are giving the government a free loan on money you haven’t actually earns yet. Is that your thoughts ?
You can ask for your payments on account to be less if you expect the current year's earnings to be less. The system is designed so they don't request everything in a single sum. I hate ot like this, but that is the system we have inherited.
Yet another way for UK government to screw you over, let's be having tax paid now for a tax year you haven't even finished yet... Government coffers love it, us small people, less so...
You can tell HMRC if you think you will not earn as much next year as this year and they will reduce the amount to pay to what you decide. BUT! If you are wrong they will penalise you by charging you interest on the difference between what you decided and on the actual figures when you do next year’s self assessment. I did this because I stopped renting out a property for last 6 months of the year and knew my tax bill would drop significantly. It does seem unfair paying tax on salary and on something else on account.
