Like There's No Tomorrow
United States
Приєднався 7 жов 2023
Welcome to our channel! In 2022, we made a bold choice: to break free from the ordinary and embrace a life of adventure while still keeping our digital careers alive. Retirement? Who needs it when you can live your dreams right now? Within a whirlwind 10 months, we sold off everything we owned, bought our first RV, and set off on an epic journey with our trusty rescue dog, Hugo, by our side.
This journey has taught us more than we could have ever imagined. We've had our fair share of highs and lows. We've ventured to incredible places we'd only dreamed of, but above all, we've crafted a life that adheres to our terms, and it's nothing short of amazing.
We invite you to join us on this adventure. Expect loads of fun, laughter, perhaps a tear or two, and the occasional slip of a curse word (because, well, life happens). Most importantly, anticipate an unfiltered glimpse of RV life and the pursuit of a life filled with travel and adventure.

Great info Thank you! :)
WHY STOP LIVING IN RV? I'm sorry to hear about this. We are full time stationary in our new 5th wheel. We started 5 years ago. We don't ever move. My wife is on 24/7 oxygen, she's in stage 4 kidney failure, heart failure and much more. We wouldn't think of moving anywhere else. There isn't anything a stick and brick does for a crippled person that a good RV won't do.
I remember you said you all are going to have to tighten your belts due to your employment situation. I was surprised a bit on the food costs. We do the very same as to only clean food and we rarely eat out. So I was wondering on the food part...just a thought….how much of it is alcohol? Could cutting back on that or going dry help? I know in the long run it will help with future health issues. “Just a thought” no need to reply.
This is last year (2023) and not our current budget. What we failed to explain is that the “food” cost was anything purchased at a grocery or big box store like Walmart or target. So food, home, living, alcohol… so much more than just groceries and food. We are doing our 2024 expenses video in January. You bet we will detail that better this time. People were losing their minds on that one. lol (totally our bad for not properly explaining)
@ kudos to you for sharing and tracking. I love following your channel. I look forward to the next budget video…actually all of your videos. ❤️
Utah has filed suit to require the federal government to give it control over public lands. Other western states have joined the suit. Camping hunting and fishing will be ended when the Trump administration hands over the public lands. Forget boondocking. “Wyoming and 11 other states have signed onto a lawsuit that could bring millions of acres of federal land under Utah’s control. If it succeeds, the case might impact roughly 17 million acres of federal land in Wyoming, too. Utah’s lawsuit filed with the U.S. Supreme Court says the federal Bureau of Land Management shouldn’t be able to own land in the state without giving it a designation, like national monument or national park status.”
File a lawsuit against the rv manufacturer! That latch shouldn't be that easy to open causing your fall
u did not show in inside seal and bearing being put on
Awww be careful please ! ❤
I’d call it throwing baby out with the dish water !
We're a little bit of a special case, but perhaps our rig setup can help. We converted a 30' school bus and we're 100% off-grid. Water is 100 gallons onboard and we use extreme water management, which sounds bad but isn't. Things like wiping off your dishes with paper towels before using a spray bottle with soap to wash them. Our only real water use is rinsing. And gray water is easily dumped in place. Just make sure every "product" you use is environmentally friendly. There is no food waste in the gray because .... well, you wiped it off. LOL! We also keep several large bottles of drinking water on-board, so I suppose technically we have a bit more than 100 gallons. Showers use minimal water. Water, turn off, wash, rinse, turn off. It's easy. And honestly, get a Planet Fitness membership and between spots take as long a shower as you want. But daily long showers are not necessary, even in the worst of desert conditions. We have no black water, it's a composting toilet and lasts weeks before a change is needed, It's also extremely easy to deal with. Electrical is all solar with a generator backup. And unless we hit a solid week of gray skies, we don't need it. As far as cooking, we are probably 50/50 between using electrical (Instapots are your friend!) and propane cooktops. Heat comes from a diesel heater and is very economical to run when you're too slow to drive far south enough to escape the cold weather. We rarely boondock in a place more than two weeks, so refilling/emptying/etc is between spots. BLM land is basically two week stays anyway, so it all works out fine. And should you find yourself in Baja ... 🙂... there are no limits on beach camping and it's free, free, free. Some bookdocks are in the middle of no one and no where. Some come with people who are doing just what you are doing. We limit ourselves to places that aren't 4x4 adventures because ... it's a 20,000 pound school bus. It's hard enough to drive where it's supposed to be driven. Overall, boondocking is our #1 choice and we avoid parks unless we absolutely have to. And strangely, when we do meet fellow boondockers, they are a dozen times more friendly than RV park dwellers. Each and every time. Just our $0.02. Safe travels!
And I forgot to mention ... we use Starlink and wifi calling and have never had an issue anywhere. Well maybe one time when Nikki booked us in a tree-filled state park. LOL! But with Starlink ... and yea yea I know (Elon!) ... connectivity is absolutely not an issue.
That is an amazing setup and thanks for sharing!
@ same here
Prayers for a speedy recovery 🙏 😇
I’ve been thinking about suspension upgrades over the past few months. Of course with my Class C, I’m looking at different options. Just curious if that was Empire Ranch you were pulling out of?
Hi Sally! Yep, you called it. The campground there.
How are these better than air bags? There is no adjustability at all? Better yet liquid springs are the big thing now with adjustability? These are basically a helper spring bottom line. I like to be able to adjust my different loads/RV.
Then you’ll want to invest in airbags if adjustment is what you desire. We really didn’t imply this is better, just an alternative for something if you can’t afford airbags (like us lol)
OMG, this is wonderful information. We are Lord willing starting our full time in the beginning of 2025.
So exciting! It’s quite the journey, we wish you all the best,
💳👈💏

❤❤❤❤👍
I'm so sorry this happened to you. I pray for a fast recovery, wisdom for the doctors and finances in Jesus name.
There is a reason it's called suspension. It suspends the truck and provides wheel travel. Timbres are just a longer bump stop.
Should have bought a semi tractor single axle with a 6 cylinder. 12mpg. Pulling no cdl required.
Is there a breather that lets the air escape? Ether wise, the bag will fill with air and not be able to take advantage of the full capacity of the bag.
Yes, you can vent the top attachment

Never trust a man who can’t even hold her hand for a minute when she breaks down. What a putz.
Never trust a person who can detect the quality of a 37 year relationship based off what they see in a UA-cam video. I purposely cut a lot of the crying and consoling because I wasn’t comfortable exposing that part. This man stood by me. Holding my head when I couldn’t even stand or get out of bed. Oh, but you know… based on a UA-cam video: lol
I have an 2023 F350 SRW 7.3 Gas stock no air bags the front axle weight is the same if my 12,000# 5er. is hitched up or not, 2660# pin weight
Most ppl think I'm insane . I've been hauling cars for 30 plus year. When I retired, I plan to full-time rv. First stop Flathead Lake Montana. Good info. Thx.
That's awesome! You're definitely not insane. Full-time RVing is a great way to stay sane!
Hello from Colorado (aka...Wests on the Move)I know some are leaving because they no longer feel safe in their RVs. As I have first hand knowledge of actual current and former owners of Grand Design RVs, these major issues with them are real and much larger than the RV assembly company will admit to. Right now there is a full NHTSA investigation (10/9/24) into just frame failure alone of the 2017-2023 Grand Design Solitudes and Momentums (potentially up to 55,887 units). This doesn't even include the other GD 5th wheels and now seeing travel trailer with I-beam cracks, bent A-frames, slide out water intrusion, etc... People are leaving the RV life because of their frustration with the RV assembly companies.
Hi guys! That’s such a shame. We just saw that investigation info. Crazy.
No serial killerish type neighbors stopped by in the middle of no where asking for some sugar? Another scenario could be while sleeping unwelcomed intruders looking around the camp for ebikes or vadalizing sun shades? Do you guys have any security consious/perimeter breach early warning technology or rules you LIVE by etc etc I think you see where im going with this topic. I have forest river travel trailer and considering doing some boondocking myself. Want to do it safely though
We feel way more safe boondocking than in some campgrounds. Thieves are way less likely to drive hours into the boonies to maybe find someone to rob than drive down the street to a campground where there are tons of trucks, bikes and stuff to steal. It’s smart to have some sort of “security” inside your Rv regardless of where you stay😜
My husband and I are planning on full time rving with a smaller trailer and truck within the next couple of months. Any tips on what research to do to know how to actually live in an RV? I did it as a kid but obviously my parents dealt with the maintenance!
We have soooo many videos on the realities of fulltime. Go look back through and take your pick. From emotional, to maintenance, to he stuff you wouldn’t know until you get out there… we try and be real about it all
Hey there! Thanks for the info! We love your content and we just bought everything you recommended. One question: could you talk a little more about the connections, specifically the rubber fitting that goes between the exit valve and the bayonet connector? Besides just tightening down the hose clamp, did you use anything else to seal the connection? It’s going from a rubber connection to a threaded connection. That seems like it may be problematic if I don’t do it right. Thanks so much !
Pipe dope is your friend. I used that quite a bit to secure all the fittings.
4 years from now. Thanks for the info. Canadian looking to be a snowbird.
You are doing it right! The earlier you start thinking through it, researching, planning… the better! Be on the lookout for our online “going fulltime” course. I’m hoping to launch it in a week!
So now instead of your beefy dually suspension absorbing the kinetic energy, now all that kinetic energy is sent directly to your trailer frame.
Not really. There is a spring inside that Timbren bump stop that helps absorb bumps.
Is T Mobile your cell service provider also or is that just a T Mobile hot spot you pay for separate? btw, what do you guys do for mail? If you have a video about that please send a link to it. Thank you!
T-Mobile is just the home tower we use. Yes, it’s separate. We actually have Verizon for our phones. Mail- Escapees.
I installed air bags on my 2017 ram 3500 I have had to let air out several times to keep the bed from hitting the fifth wheel from hitting the bed getting in and out of campgrounds I noticed you have about the same clearance my airbags cost me 450 and I can adjust my ride empty to loaded
A set of airbags for 450? Interesting
@ had them on my truck for 3 years installed them myself originally installed them to improve the ride off the truck empty witch it did didn’t install a compressor just airbags
@ good to know. I’ll admit I thought the price of 375 (they’re actually little over 400 now with tax) was high.
Put these on a 2017 gmc 2500 HD worked great when loaded but when unloaded and drove over rough bridge or roads the bounce was pretty severe when they came down on the axle
I had someone else ask about this. We didn’t experience any signs of a rough ride when not loaded. Must be situational. So you have the arm ten brand? Or Sumo springs?
This were Tembren they have a space between the axle when unloaded I have sumo on a fifth wheel they work great but they don’t have a space they are in constant contact
@@williamwhite7703 I see. We asked about this because we have very little space when unloaded. They said that was ok. Maybe that’s why we don’t feel the difference. I’ll have to ask Barry if we used the spacer provided. Maybe that has something to do with it.
I really liked them and it was great till you hit that hard bump and that sudden hit on the axle your truck is probably heavier and could probably absorb it better
Goood tutorial video on the function and installation!!! I’m a four time over Ford truck owner, but when ordered our 25K pound fifth wheel 3 years ago, we went with the Ram with the max towing package and the factory air bags. Didn’t want to do what you mentioned and have to spend a bunch of $$$ after spending a bunch $$$😂😂. Just wish Ford and Chevy would go with that option, wonder why that haven’t🤔🤔 I did notice in the first part of the video looking at your rear tires it looked like you have more tread on the outside of your tires and the center was more worn down. If so, are you airing down after getting to your destination🤔🤔 If not, I would highly recommend it bcuz it will significantly prolong the life of your tires!! We have had our truck for 2.5 years and I got 40K miles on the junk a$$ Nexan tires that come with the Ram. We have new tires now and have about 10K on them and they are wearing evenly. My max tire pressure for towing is 80 psi for the steers and 65 psi for the rears, which is what we run when towing our house. When we get to our destination and will be there for more than 2-3 days, I air down to 65ish on the steers and 42ish on the rears. I arrived at these pressures by conducting the ole school chalk test. Simply get a piece of big white chalk and drag it across your tires and drive down a smoothe paved road for a quarter mile and see the results. You may have to do it several times to find your optimum tire pressure for non towing driving. But, let me tell you, it makes a helluva difference on softening the ride in a dooly and the winner winner seafood dinner is, your tires are gonna last a lot longer!!! 👍😃🍻
Great tips on tire pressure, thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to share your insights. We will definitely give it a try.
Great tip! If you were on Highway 10 in Tucson you definitely gave them a good test...both for roughness and speed, 75 mph is the slow lane and 90 to 100 is the fast lane speed there. Lol
lol I know! We don’t go over 65. People were passing us like we were standing still.
What are you decide to go with airbags or this system is completely up to whoever's going to put it on the truck period but there is no doubt if you're going to haul a heavy fifth wheel one of these two needs to be on there
I love watching y’all. I am a Florida native and still live on the same road which I was born, just about fifteen miles east of Tampa. My grandson and family are full time nomads for four years plus. They are the Being Bethune’s.
That’s awesome! Small world.😊
So do you have air bags on your truck along with the bump stops? I thought i seen in one of your other vids you had air bags.
No we don’t have air bags. It’s not in the budget. Why we wanted to try these instead.
@@liketheresnotomorrow Thank you for the reply. We enjoy watching your videos and learnig from you both. When my gf retires in 2 yrs we plan on going full time rv living.
@ awe thanks so much. We appreciate your support.
I have run these for 40 years it’s the only way to go. Best product around 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🛠️
Nice! Thanks for your insights👍
I wore one of those stupid neck braces for 6 week's following spinal fusion of my cervical spine.
Yea, they are NO FUN. I ended up in it just over 8 weeks, but doing much better now (about 4 months later)
No floor jack? That's OK, but I think you need a bottle jack. My son is buying a set of these for my Xmas. Wish you had measured your bed sag before & after.
Yea, if you’re fulltime in the road you generally don’t travel with a floor jack, that’s why we mentioned it. You can do it with a bottle but it’s not as safe. I wish we had measured as well, but we were more interested in the ride. Which it was a noticeable improvement. We didn’t have a ton of sag but it’s obvious it would help. In the reviews we saw that comment often,
Good video and info. Why did you go with Timbren vs. others like SumoSprings?
We have sumo on the Rv, we ordered for the truck and they sent us the wrong ones. The whole process with the sumo customer service was bad. We sent the truck springs back and never reordered again. We thought we’d try the Timbren on the truck. Much better experience and a great product.
Hmmmmmmm. Before and after pics are two different trucks? Refer to badging at bottom of front fender. Also dual exhaust tips are rear mud flap??
@@GaryWilkerson-w2u nope same truck. There is a small stock timbren video at the beginning but the rest is our footage..
I can vouch for the Timbren SES as well. They are great and with the truck unloaded they ride like stock. I would say every once in a while if you are not underload and hit a big bump they feel like they are bottoming out but they aren't. There is a bit of room between the chassis and SES so when empty and you hit a big enough bump they get real firm when they make contact. Its not a negative its part of the design so the truck rides well unloaded. Good call Barry!
Awesome. Glad you like them as much as us.
@@liketheresnotomorrow air bags are like riding on air way better than adding springs
@@Ex.Nihilo i added air bags I never hit the bottom out it’s like riding on air empty and loaded and that is on a ram if I owned a ford would have had to put overloads on like my last ford to Handel the same load
@@davehuber6949 true from what I hear. Couldn’t afford airbags. So this was a great alternative,
@@Ex.Nihilo with air bags mi 3500 ram duly rids better than stock that is why I installed them I didn’t need help with a 40 foot Jayco truck and trailer at 28 thousand pounds without a 6+ 10 trailer
OK Barry quick question, how does it drive without the trailer hooked up? Is it a bit rougher or a bit stiffer?
We didn’t notice any difference when not towing.
@ Perfect 👌. Didn’t want to trade for a rough ride. Thanks Barry
Thanks another great video. One other reason folks stop RVigg that you didn't cover. RVing is almost always a team sport.. When I lost my wife, It was a very hard decision to make, but I have decided to try going out solo I am discovering others who have made the same choice. This community is making the grieving process a little less hard.
That's a really insightful point, thank you for sharing.
I herd that grand design is said that those bumps hocks cause the frame flex, really who knows
I can't remember if I mentioned it to yall yet or not but, we installed a minisplit for ac & heat. It's made a complete and shocking difference for us. Our 1 minisplit cools better than our 3 RV acs combined! And the 1 running full blast still takes a little less than 1 of the RV rooftop ACs. We even tested it this summer and spent 4 days in Laughlin, Nevada at 117° end of August. We.left our minisplit on the entire time and hottest it got in the camper was 83. Once the sun went down it was still 100 outside but down to 61 in the camper. I don't know how much solar/battery bank uall have but the minisplit made it to where we can literally be anywhere we want when we want with no issues. We can camp places too hot for others because of it being too hot for others. We have a video on our channel of us testing it out with more details. But I'd say after 4 full years of full time rving, I truly wish we'd done this year 1! Best upgrade we've ever done! Ps, we don't have battle born, either. Why pay that much?! We got cheaper ones on Amazon, too. Now further in your video i see you said 800 amp hrs. You probably wouldn't be able to keep the minisplit on all day but could a lot of the day. We have a little over 1k amp hours. Yall have a very similar set up to ours. We have 6 panels at 375 w bifacial. We saved a loooooot of money by Rob installing our setup, though. His family have an electric business and most of the men have worked there at some point in life. We got lucky, there cause Rob was able to do it all.
Wow that is incredible! Thanks for sharing, we are seriously considering a minisplit for our next upgrade! The challenge for us is that we will most likely need one for garage and then another for rest of the toyhauler. We separate the main and garage because of our offices. Where did you mount the outside part? I’ll watch your video. Never mind. lol we tend to never camp in high heat so I think we’ll be fine using our setup. We shall see. It’s definitely one that’s been on our list,
@liketheresnotomorrow yeah for the garage aka office, you'd probably still have to use the ac in there for figure out something different. We only use our garage as our dining room so it's not a room we just have to use. But I do use it as my craft room when wer3 stopped long enough to take the side by side out. The minisplit does work for the main living area and reaches our bedroom, but if we have the garage doors closed, it can't reach in there.
I think just having the split in the main area will make a world of difference. We are looking into it again. Thanks so much for your insights.
