Thank you, just had a bone graft done today and your instructions were very clear... Happy Smiles Everyday Everyone😁
Thank you doctor! Very informative and useful. I wish you were my periodontist!
how do i apply elugel without pulling the lip away? 🥹
Helo sir My maxillary first molar is missed My left side getting sinking.. I have implant surgery after 5 months.. My doubt is that is my face continually sink? After implant is there any chance to get back my face in to normal?
this is such great information, I would like to suggest that you, if you have the energy, to re-record it talking much slower and putting the 24 hour items together. Taking notes on this is very difficult giving your format and this is one of the most thorough and helpful videos I’ve seen so I can’t help but think that this stressed out people that are watching it would be helped by this simple move. Thank you for your wonderful service in creating this!
Thanks, Dr. Thousand. My dentist did not explain that to me as half as well as you did, especially the three months period with soft diet and no site touching with the bone graft. God bless you a lot and you are a great doctor!
GOOD LORD! SO WHAT'S THE SCORE ON THESE DENTISTS WHO SAY THEY CAN REMOVE ALL UPPER AND LOWER TEETH AND REPLACE THEM WITH IMPLANTS IN ONE VISIT? THEY SAY THEY CAN DO THE ABOVE FOR PEOPLE IN THEIR 70'S OR 80'S ! JUDGING BY WHAT THIS DENTIST SAYS THE AFORESAID DENTISTS CLAIMS ARE TANTAMOUNT TO SCAMS!!!?
I got an extraction and bone graph done at 4pm it’s 8 pm and my mouth still numb but doesn’t hurt
No one told me 2 avoid carbonated drinks. I did soda on the very day luckily all went well. Now am good 16 days later.
My dentist like most did not explain much. They did give me a piece of paper with minor instructions. This video is very informative and helpful, you give time frames for healing and for post-diet. I also appreciate the information about sutures. Thank you.
I met my oral surgeon for the first time about 30 second's before the IV sedation hit me and when I woke up he was gone. The only after care instructions they gave me was a bare bones, single page print out. Thank you so much for this video!
Not me literally eating a McDonald’s burger and fries a few hours after a molar coming out lol
Doctor - I am really worried about a forthcoming sinus lift/bone graft to be done on two teeth (upper left middle molar and lower right middle molar) prior to a colonoscopy. It sounds horrendous and I am worried that we have not left enough time for it to heal before the colonoscopy - teeth extraction and sinus lift to be done on 4th and colonoscopy on 11th Sept. Would you be worried with this kind of scheduling? Is this enough time or should I move the dental work to be after the colonoscopy. I can't move the latter as I have already had to wait 3 months and the surgeon does not want me to wait any longer. The anaesthetist said he would not be too worried if I had the colonoscopy with the two infections that I have still there, and had the infected teeth removed and sinus lift done afterwards, but I don't know if he is being cavalier as it is not his heart that may be affected. One doctor even shrugged his shoulders when I suggested that removing the teeth might be best done prior to the surgery. She would not explain what she meant! What do doctors behave like this? Also, when you say there will be swelling, does this mean my face will swell up too and that my nostrils will be blocked so I can't breathe? I am really worried about not being able to breathe. I am writing to the dentist this evening, but what is your view on the scheduling we have set up? I could postpone the dental work as he will almost certainly have windows for after the colonoscopy but how risky is it to have a (30min) colonoscopy under an aneasthetic when you have an infection under two teeth? I am not sure I fully understand what criteria to use for making my decision (I am not asking you to make the decision just to help me understand the risk factors with the options I have) and I am not getting much help from the medical professionals. Can you shed some perspective on this?
Put the cold pack on the outside of your mouth, not inside of your mouth.
Thank you so much for the info...especially the explanations. ❤
Isn’t there a long wait period from the time you get bone grafting to the day you get the implant screw? I thought there was at least 3 month wait?
How many days do you wear the gauze in the socket? Do you leave the gauze in when you eat and then replace it afterwards? What size type of gauze should I buy ahead of time?
I did not use afrin, is that ok?
They said you can water pik after 10 days
Why you need to take afrin? Is it recommended to use it jusr because you have the procedure? I had mine 11 days ago and i have never had a problem not touching. Is that ok not using afrin?
I took out my wisdom tooth on the right side 4 days ago and it went fine but the problem is that my left cheek on the inside is sore and hurting. It’s swollen as well? Anyone knows why?
Based from what I got at kriss ai, it said it's not uncommon to experience some discomfort and swelling after a wisdom tooth extraction, even on the opposite side of the extraction site. There are few possible reasons for the soreness and swelling on your left cheek which are compensatory chewing, trauma during surgery, infection, swelling spread, and bite changes.
@@VanessaRodrigo311-nw8ye Can you share more about that kriss ai?
Hi I had full mouth extractions done. In February and did everything the dentist told me. I had no complications from the surgery. Everything is healing fine and I can have impressions for my dentures.
Could I still drink coffee
I sorely & desperately need this surgery, HELP!
Oh dang I’m watching this after strongly mouthwashing my mouth 😣 I hope I didn’t ruin anything. I also lifted a watermelon around 👀
Thank you so much!!!! This is excellent and provides me some peace of mind about what is going to happen after the extraction and bone graft. Had no idea about 90% of this information. Very helpful!
My dintist removed 2 teeth and did 2 bone grafts. They didn't rense my mouth after the operation(pieces of teeth left on my tongue) and didn't give me any gauze. I had to go back in and ask for some... This info would have been awesome 3 days ago😭
My dentist never mentioned any of this
Thank you so much for this video. I wasn't given any post op instructions. I went in for a replacement crown on an old root canal. The tooth came off with the crown. I cried like a baby after they told me they needed to do an extraction. I was hearing words like, implant, bone graft, etc. Then I was told that I could have a missing tooth for 6 weeks. I honestly about fainted. I'm a Clinical Pharmacist and I'm crazy about my dental care. It took an hour and a half to remove the tooth. And 5 hours after my appointment began I left with a titanium screw in my jaw and no post op instructions. So thank you, thank you, thank you, for this video.
Yall Avoid. Clindamycin These dentist scribe. It is a antibiotic that is HIGH on the list to cause cdiff! Plzzzz be careful- Dentist are not being educated on the high risks of cdiff and antibiotics w dental procedures
❤
Thank you so so much. ❤
Absurd how little information my oral surgeon gave me even after I got dry socket today…
Hello, what is considered "pulling on the lip"? I opened my mouth just enough to see the v shape of the gum (for flossing and brushing), but I can't see the actual surgical site. Is this pulling?
Amazing information 🙏🙏🙏
Still such good information, even 6 years later! May, 2024 Thank you. Just had all 9 of my uppers taken out.
"Expect to bleed in the first 24 hours, I just took out a tooth" Thank you for telling it like it is. I was worried about the bleeding for the first few hours after getting a wisdom tooth pulled, glad to know it's supposed to.
I was scared to when I saw blood on my pillow the next morning. I was relieved to find out that is normal.
I just has a molar extracted and bone graft done. Perhaps the most excrutiating pain I have ever had. Would have been nice if my "Doctor" had told me to start taking the hydrocodone/Tylenol right away, instead of letting the Anesthesia wear off.
Very Valuable information Dr. John Thank you, I'm in the last few weeks of this horrendous journey and can't wait to get me a rib-eye. 😁
How are you supposed to eat with holes in your mouth before the implants go in
Here's the truth. You will NEED painkillers. Massive pain for 3 or 4 days. 8 out of ten for the next 3 or 4. No relief until about ten 10 days. You need to cancel everything for two weeks. Won't even want to get out of bed for 8 days!!! This IS a NIGHTMARE! Doctors LIE!!!!
Very informative video! Thanks for making this.
That would make sense why I'm still in a lot of pain and my gums still hurt because I had a bone graft so I can get implants down the road
I’m about to have an extraction and bone graph. I’m so nervous. It’s my first time ever having a tooth extracted. I had a root canal back in 99’ that now shows it’s infected and needs to come out and put an implant in.
@TracyLynn75 It's going to be sore for a while, but it eventually does get better. I still don't have my implants in because my dentist wanted to wait a few months for it to heal for the implants to be put in.
@msotrfan1 yeah I know I’ll have to wait a few months till I heal from the extraction before they put in the implant. Not looking forward to the bone graph. I know it’s a waiting(healing) game in between all of it. Just hope I don’t get that dry socket. Thank you.
I had a molar extracted and a bone graft 15 days ago. There were no sutures. Bleeding stopped after the first few hours. The gums have healed over the edge of the graft but there is probably still 50% or so of the graft exposed. I called my dentist on day 10 and asked if I could lightly brush the area of extraction/bone graft to keep it clean and they said I could, but I’m a little concerned the ultra light brushing twice a day with warm salt water over the area is slowing the healing. Should I be brushing at all over the area of extracting/bone graft? Can’t find a definitive yes or no on UA-cam.
Sounds brutal brutal brutal
Best video out there. He explains everything. Loved it. This Doctor is great.
I had this surgery on 08/04/2024 And it was so painfull and evening i got so much bleeding.
I'm having a sinus lift augmentation, they're not sure if they will be able to add the implant that same day. Having this done on a Monday morning. I'm a working musician/singer, and my question is, do you think I'll be able to sing ok by the weekend? I'm sure I wont be anywhere near 100%, but if I pick easy songs to sing, should it be possible? I'm from the school of the show must go on. Hard to find answers on this type of question. Thanks
Thank you for providing this helpful general advice. Always a good idea to put off smoking and drinking for as much as possible!
So just sit there and breath. Shouldn’t have had the tooth extracted. Your life comes to an end for two months. Ridiculous
