Thank you! Just the Portside repeater was used for this observation. Usually all three gyrocompass repeaters (port, center, starboard) are synchronized and show the same courses, and it doesn't matter which one you use for observation. But, anyway some errors can appear from time to time, therefore it's good practice to note which repeater you have used for taking bearing.

I was in Fram and it was beyond impressive. Beatifully engineered ship! One of the most memorable moments was "Freezing cold polar simulator" room aka Mummy museum. I didn´t know what to expect and to this day I don´t know HOW should I interpret whole scene. Two sailors in bunk bed. One seemed to be sleeping after dinner, while other had gangerene, milky white irises and some sort of pox. I think those WERE the mummies and what the rescuers/boarding party must experienced after discovering icy tomb (or ghost ship). Then again, they could be just sleeping. No description, not many mentions around internet...nothing. One of those mysteries, I guess. It was eerie and stuck with me till this day.
It's hard to tell, but those expeditions were clearly a great challenge for these sailors.

Hi. There was similar question in comments. Probably you should the "Receive mode" change from "Egc receive only" to "Inmarsat-C". The "Log-In" is initiated automatically. Or in most cases the problem is in antenna or cables. Always better to call your ship's certified technician.
