Steering spinners not at all recommended for cars to be driven in hills and even more so on a 4*4 it might have worked for you sir but general rule says other wise

My experience on improving the mileage on any Suzuki Automatic with a Torque convertor based Automatic Transmission. 1. Feathering the accelerator instead of putting the pedal to the metal. Always go easy on the acceleration. 2. Roll the vehicle as much possible (if the vehicle is mild hybrid, it helps charging the battery as well) 3. Stay inside 80/85 KMPH. Anything above 90, it will guzzle like nobody's business. On my UC, I have achieved 21.2 KMS on the Blore highway just by doing the above. I am assuming Jimny couldnt be any different while doing long trips.

In an urban cruiser (pre hyryder), which uses the same TC gear box, you get massive wheel spin in the low gears. I hope that is not the case with jimny.

I too am from Gurgaon and had to sell my Accord V6 with a very very heavy heart since it had only done 75000 km in near 14 years. Was super well maintained and was used mainly for local pleasure driving. Subsequent year sold my Getz that had done 85000 km. Now i just keep a Grand i10 parked in the basement for local runabout stuff. Wonder where the govt gets their bright ideas.

This is probably the best and most informative video about the Jimny that i have seen on youtube. Kudos bro. I've owned an Accord V6 aotomatic in the past. That had a D3 between D and 2. This video clears up so many things and helps making the purchase decision easier. Maruti should use this for propective cutomer education at dealerships. I 👍👏👏

Does Jimny have idle start and stop? Do we need to shift from D to N at the traffic Light?

In a way one does not need to spend extra more than 1 lakh on automatic and suffer low mileage and extra maintenance costs.Just buy a manual and enjoy real4/4.

Just a little tip. The L on the jimny auto is not the same as first on manual. 1st gear on the auto has a ratio of 2.875 where as first on the manual has a ratio of 4.425. This means for every rotation of the output shaft of the transmission, the input would need to spin 2.875 times on the auto or 4.425 times on the manual. What this means in practice is the torque from the engine is multiplied by that ratio. So peak torque on the jimny auto is 130Nm X 2.875 which is 373Nm, on manual that peak torque is 575Nm 3rd on the auto is the nearly the same as 5th on the manual. Both have a ratio of 1, only difference would be the diff ratio. Tip for others A wet tarmac road is not slippery enough for 4H or 4L modes. Slippery in this context means things like sand, a hard packed dirt road can be driven in 2H just fine.

Please do not encourage unsafe driving parctices .Steering wheel mounts are stricly used for slow moving heavy vehicles or earthmovers for ease of driver in offroad cumbersome conditions. Nowhere it is meant on fast moving vehicles like cars where you are required to control the steering properly with both hands for your own safety and of others [ for the very reason people with disability and who do not have the other arm or hand are not issueddriving licence ] .Have we become so lazy and have got no strength that we can not even control a power steering with both hands ...I wonder how we ever drove a fiat , ambassdor , CJ3B , Gypsy which did not have any power steering at all !!! Safe driving always.

Good but one warning. That water bottle will kill you and others if the front airbags goes off in an accident. Please remove it immediately.

Overdrive is a "high range" after every 1,2,3 or R postion its like you have longer geared axels and back if o/d is off.

After seeing your video i can now easily go to any showroom and take test drive of an Automatic car , you would have notice in all brand showrooms if you like to do test drive of any Automatic car , first thing the sales man will ask is do you have Automatic car already or you have experience in driving Automatic car , if you say no i have manual car then yo can see their looks some what they get scared , this question to any manual car owner will irritate, of course they can teach how to drive in a nutshell ,but videos like this in detail will make us prepared in that situation and we can strongly tell them this is how it works :) Thank you for the wonderful virtual hands on session..
