    Steering spinners are illegal in many countries, as drivers can get these caught in shirt sleeves, which had led to fatal accidents. Illegal in Southern Africa since the 1950's, for instance.

    Great information. Thanks.
    Also you can remove sensor beneath rear seats very easily to put off seat belt warning . It's plug and play.

      Thank you for sharing! While that is and option but it’s a cumbersome, and kind of permanent because it involves opening bolts to dismantle the rear seat to reach the sensor cable and if you want to reattach it, you have to repeat the same task, while this one you just remove the clips and you back to OEM settings 😊

    I initially thought the turn-off auto stop would trigger the car's voice command system and turn it off. But it turned out to be a driver programming hack. Effective nonetheless, brought a big smile on my face. Love the seat clips solution. Thanks for this video.

    Incidentally in mine , the one at the front when I pull it down , has 2 connected spots . One can be unclipped but not the other one .

      Hi, let me see if I can do that, however you are on the right path, it takes a lil bit of force and effort to undo the second one but be careful not to scratch or break it… use a cloth at the screwdriver tip to prevent abrasion - best option is when you get your next service done like you said!

    I think the wheel spinners have a bad reputation and are notoriously being referred to as suicide knobs. It’s even illegal in certain countries. Better to get adjusted to the turning radius limitation of Jimny and drive accordingly.

    • @handsonwithbabbar
      @handsonwithbabbar  4 місяці тому

      Thank you for highlighting this and essentially your concern, appreciate it.
      If the the spinner is a sturdy good quality (it gets subjected to a lot of force while being used so you need a robust build) and
      It’s installed correctly (at 2 O clock position facing inward, inside the steering and firmly without any play) it’s fine - I have being using one for 22 years and very happy with the role it plays in my driving, cheers 😊.

    Very Practical Hacks, Babbar Sahaab. I have ordered the stickers, rear seat belt clips and a sunshade holder as well, to keep document photocopies, PUC label, a pen, my refuelling logbook, random entry cards and nick nacks. A zipper pouch can be used to keep photocopies and some reserve cash as well for parking fees, etc. The leather wrapped steering wheel slips for me.. do you suggest a steering wheel cover like the rust / tan one the Thunder kit contains ?

    • @handsonwithbabbar
      @handsonwithbabbar  4 місяці тому

      That’s great 👍🏻. They are all useful items, will certainly simplify you Jimny life 😊. The steering wheel works quite well for me, you should go to a accessory shop and see the variety there and check the grip before you buy - the Nexa options are very limited and also too common now, as almost every thunder edition Jimny has the same tan / black seat covers and these tan accessories😉

    The turning radius in Jimny is horrendous. I was shocked to find out that Thar’s turning radius is shorter than Jimny. For me it’s a major deterrent when driving Jimny within the city lanes despite it being a petite car in size.

      Long wheel base has its advantages and disadvantages

    • @infinitebeing1119
      @infinitebeing1119 4 місяці тому

      @@rogernilsonlobo what? it has wheelbase of swift. The problem is in with front rigid axel that limits steering angle.

    • @rogernilsonlobo
      @rogernilsonlobo 4 місяці тому

      @@infinitebeing1119 the short wheel base jimny has a decent turning radius 4.9m but lwb needs 5.7m . Rigid axle does hamper the turning radius in both cases. being the same length thar and jimny have the same turning radius despite that having an independent front suspension. You get used to it after maybe a month of driving.

    • @handsonwithbabbar
      @handsonwithbabbar  4 місяці тому

      The turning radius at 5.7 metres of the Jimny is larger than it should be, as is expected for that size of car but it’s not something extraordinarily out of whack! It is essentially similar to that of the Thar, Gurkha, XUV 500 and the like… so it’s very manageable and it just takes getting used to it and you do get used to it quickly too… so not a big deal (breaker), I think 😀

    The first hack is not good. Firstly, the alarm stops in 2 minutes automatically, and it's a very good feature to remind back seaters to put up belts. Moreover, u can always tie a belt without anybody sitting, so no more beeps.

    • @handsonwithbabbar
      @handsonwithbabbar  4 місяці тому

      I appreciate what you mean. However it would have been a good feature, if it kicked in when someone was sitting there, not when the seats are empty. Secondly, yes you can tie the belt but if you have to fold the seats and keep some extra stuff in the car, you have to unclip belts to fold seats - bottom line: nice feature poor & impractical execution by MSIL!

      You have seen the Indian spec videos, what else don’t they have on the Indian spec that you know off? I am aware of emergency braking assist and ADAS of some kind that you have and we don’t! Do your have a 360 degree camera or anything else? Thank you in anticipation 😊

      @@handsonwithbabbarhi again, I typed a reply but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, there is only one model of the 5 door available in Australia… called the XL. The only options are paint colour and manual or auto transmission. It has lane keeping assist and autonomous braking which is now a requirement on all new cars in Australia. We don’t have the push button start which I would have liked for the price. There is no 360 degree camera but we have reversing sensors which sound as you get closer to the object behind you. There is also adaptive cruise control on auto transmission models which adjusts the speed to keep the distance between the car in front . The radio has wireless CarPlay and a DAB tuner. Haha … you should ask this from the top honchos at MSIL!
      If you are asking my opinion, then according to me, it’s a journey as more and more people drive and experience the Jimny, they love it, they will buy it - some immediately, some will plan it as their next car and some will put it on their wish list ! If the price is kept right - it’s going to be a very popular car in 3 years or so that will have a cult following like the Gypsy has today… even greater 😊.
