How To: No Start Diagnosis and Fix Dead Fuel Pump (Infiniti G37)
Quick video and How To on the diagnosis and repair for a 2013 Infiniti G37. This was a little tricky as the U1001 code was not causing the no-start condition and is confusing as the FSM states that that code should be diagnosed first. However, following a simple and straightforward testing procedure we were able to correctly diagnose the issue as a dead fuel pump. We use a fancy scan tool here, but the same can be done with directly finding the fuel pump relay and jumping terminals to directly trigger the pump.

    I had 4 season tyres (Pirelli Scorpion) on my 4x4, never had any issues even uphill, no matter how deep the snow was. The trick was it had a very good always-on-awd system... Even diff locks were needed very rarely.

    I have had quite a few bikes in my 68 years. I bought a 2002 XT225 in 2023 with only 760 miles on it. What a great bike! I have had so much fun on it. It is perfect for what I was looking for. I don't need record breaking speed or gobs of power at my age, just something dependable that I can throw a leg over once in a while and go enjoy the backroads near me. The XT225 does that perfectly. I still can't get over how light it is. It is such an under rated machine. A woman named Lois Pryce rode one of these from Alaska to Argentina in 2003. What an achievement! Thank you for posting this video - awesome!

      The lightness is really nice. I got stuck in a mud hole once, and if it was any heavier, I would have completely dropped and drowned the bike. I never doubted that the bike could survive a trip like that, I just don't think this would be my first choice to cover that many miles.

    Ok, number 1, you have a big enough garage to work on your stuff, number 2, you clearly don't have to deal with an anal retentive HOA that will be very happy to not only fine you into poverty themselves (and, also slap liens on your property that can lead to YOUR property being auctioned off in order to payoff those liens), but will also sick the city on you for working on your cars and having non-running vehicles on your property. Some of us need a shop to fix our cars instead of doing the work ourselves. Having been on the service side of a dealership, I know the sneaky bullshit that gets pulled on customers, so I will only take a car in for a recall issue, or if there's something that can only be done at a dealership.

    • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
      @Dan_And_Daves_Garage 10 днів тому

      The new springs / shocks actually make the car ride relatively nicely. The front is a little high compared to the rear and gives about +1.5° positive camber. I saw that silver mine motors offers a bolt in camber plate that is also a lower height than the original rubber spring mount, so maybe that could be used to address both the height and camber correction. Just been enjoying it as is for now so I haven't tried it out yet.

    • @willingram8348
      @willingram8348 9 днів тому

      @@Dan_And_Daves_GarageI would look up what the forums have to say about the silver mine motors plate, there are issues with the stock top hat and interference with the strut towers with stock dia springs. Not speaking from experience though just what I read.

    • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
      @Dan_And_Daves_Garage 10 днів тому

      Couple reasons an LX (100 and 200 series) was not considered. Price wise you are looking at a preface lift high mileage 200 series, or a very nice 06+ 100 series. David has an 06 LX470 that's been featured on the channel so I am familiar with them. 1. It's simply too large. I'm not the only one driving this, and my wife needs to be able to comfortably drive without feeling like she's in a boat. It's also too tall for her to put the baby in the car seat without struggling 2. Fuel economy is worse both city and highway. I don't do enough towing or hauling to need the extra capacity. 3. And finally price. No way you can find a clean LX570 same year and mileage for the same price as a GX. You have to make concessions somewhere, and that's most likely both being older, closer to 08, and mileage probably up towards 150k+. I plan to keep the GX for as long as possible, and starting with a lower mileage example just makes more sense. I sat in one and really liked it, but it just didn't fit the use case and I wasn't willing to make those concessions

    Snow and rubber have a low coefficient of friction whereas snow on snow actually has a much higher coefficient. For this reason, tires that are good in the snow are better at holding on to snow and using it as their traction board. This is why mud tires are inherently bad and snow. Mud tires are designed to clear tread and throw mud. If you're throwing snow and not holding onto it, you're not grabbing anything for grip
