Building My 280Z Into A Safari Car

- This is my 1977 Datsun 280Z that I've turned into a safari car. This is a two part series where in this first video we update the suspension, wheels/tires, and complete a lot of deferred maintenance in the steering.
In part two we are going to take a look at actually making this look cool, that includes the lights, skid plate, mudflaps, and then take it on a test drive to see how well it works.
If you want to support the channel just in time for chilly fall temps, check out our page where you can get our 100% designed by us hoodie dananddavesgar....
This is a low budget build with no sponsored parts and really wanted to try something different. If you enjoyed please go ahead and like, comment, and subscribe.
Looks great so far, love the Safari look. Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks a lot!
love your channel the s30 is one of my dream cars
Thanks a lot! If there's any future content you'd like to see with the 280Z just let us know.
Cool project! I live in PA and good ground clearance and suspension travel are a wonderful thing.
I had a few 240Zs in the 80's. You need to put oil in the strut tubes to conduct the heat from the shock to the outer surface of the strut tube.
Interesting, I never knew that. I've done the cartridges on my 300ZX and they were rusted solid in the strut housing so this was at least a pleasant surprise to take them apart without hammering and a torch.
Good video!
Thanks a lot!
Sick
Thanks buddy
Now to get ultimate traction and ride play with your tire pressure. Don’t be afraid to try around 25psi as the tires are rated for a higher load than your car.
I'll have to try that out. I did go lower to 30psi, where my normal is around 35 and it worked pretty well. Next time I take it out I'll try it 25 and see how it goes.
