The Battenberg Blanket is really coming along!
@@selfishknitter thanks
I’ve only gotten 2 projects done for 25 in 25. 😣
@@kasi.crafts anything completed is a good thing
I’m really worried about JoAnns closing too…
@@kasi.crafts it’s looking pretty grim
The rain was kind of underwhelming in my area.
@@kasi.crafts we are supposed to get more this weekend. Color me skeptical
Oh that XMas mini stocking is adorable. I knit a mini baby sock from the Basic Baby Sock pattern - C/O 12 … It is difficult with the small needles- 0-2. Love the Temp blanket and the crocheted blanket for Jessica. Nice! ❤❤❤ There are quite a few videos on here about Joanns. Quite interesting. Some at Joanns have been heartened by ppls show and words of support.
@@Emmyemmcee thank you! I’m hoping someone buys Joanns but I don’t think it’s going to happen. 😩
@ I know it’s sad. I esp appreciated their fleece selection.
Yay for 3 eagle eggs. Praying for a successful hatch! The eaglets in Florida who died died of avian flu. 😢 So far the parents seem okay.
That is so sad. Our eagles have had so many problems.
Haven’t been to a JoAnn in forever, but hope to remedy that soon. The temperature blanket is looking great.
Thank you!!!
How big will the blanket be? The tutorial is very helpful!
@@christinaellzey1316 the tutorial piece will be about 12” by 12”. The temperature blanket will be big probably about 60” x 60”. I haven’t done part 3 yet, but I will try this weekend.
I’m also an eagle lover! I’m in Wisconsin but I follow a nest in SW Florida. There were two eaglets almost a month and a half old and they both died in the past two days I am heartbroken. I’ve been following them for 7 or 8 years now. Praying a for a successful hatch for your eagles!
@@EileenK64 we had 3 eggs last year and they didn’t hatch, everyone was heartbroken. What happened to your eagle babies, was it the cold?
@@MommaNevinno, it’s not that cold there. I am hearing it could be they ate something poisonous or maybe bird flu? The wildlife rehabilitation center there took both eaglets and will do a necropsy to see what happened so maybe we’ll find out in a few weeks. Both eaglets had some sort of seizure before they died. One died and the other looked fine, then the next day that one had a seizure and fell out of the nest. So so sad!
@ oh that is sad.
@@EileenK64 we just got a third egg last night. Praying for our eagle babies to hatch this year.
@@MommaNevin🙏
Always love seeing your videos.. that dog sweater is so adorable 😊
@@theordinaryjoy thank you
Just played catchup for January’s videos. Your weather blanket tutorial series is super helpful.💖
@@KathySmith-lt9be thank you
I’m glad you’re so organized. I have two of those carts from Michaels and love them. You have cute projects. ❤ Enjoy the rain and your day off.
@@Emmyemmcee thank you so much.
We're excited again this year for the eagles. Fingers toes and eyes crossed. Jessica's blanket is really a beauty.
Thank you, I hope to finish it someday.
Been worried about you and the fires!!!! Ya know I could send you a king cake. 👀 Did NOT know your hubby worked for Fender!! My hubby is a huge guitar nerd! How cool! Did he build the guitars? Glad you are feeling better!! Smooches, Amy!
@@TwoSistersAndSomeYarn we are good with fires, it’s raining!!! King cakes are too expensive to send but thank you so much. Yep he worked for them for 43 years. He didn’t build them but he made sure the equipment worked so they could paint them. He told me one time that he wasn’t an employee, he was part of the inventory. Thank you for being concerned. We have had some fires but we aren’t in LA so our firefighters have water. 😋
Always love seeing your videos… don’t worry …mistakes are part of our crafts … keep making my friend 😊
That does look easy. I’ve done that psso before. ❤ Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your process! I love that you've figured out a way to show both the high and low temperature in one square. This is going to look so awesome when you're done!
@@shaunastitches I thought about using cotton so I could use it for a dish cloth after but the only cotton I have is thin for amigurumi so I decided to go with leftovers.
@@shaunastitches thank you, I hope it all makes sense.
@@MommaNevin it did make sense! You were very clear. It is so much harder to knit or crochet in front of a camera but you did great.
Thank you for the tutorial Joan.
You are welcome, I hope everything makes sense.
Oh Pirate…. 😂 My channel is the same as my name. I don’t vlogcast often, though.
❤❤❤ Thanks for the fire update and glad you are still there. 🙂 Oh yeah, and I have a youtube channel. AmniconStudio 🙂
Mistakes in my knitting and crocheting can hurt my feelings 😉 but I'm never happier then after I've fixed them. Have a wonderful week.
❤❤❤
I love your weather blanket. The edge is much better than a pale one . Like stained glass.
@@astitchinthesky thank you, I think when I film the tutorial later today I’m going to use lighter colors because they will be easier to see.
@MommaNevin good idea
I feel your pain. I had a mistakes night last night too. I did a ribbed crochet cuff on a cardigan and realized it was backwards. Apparently the facings mattered because it came out all gapped looking. I had to rip the whole darn thing out and redo it this morning…I guess that’s how we learn. 😅
@@kasi.crafts I know but sometimes learning is annoying.
With your weather blanket, could you add a different square where the original square would have been? It’s your blanket, you can place squares out of “order” if desired or needed. I have done that with temperature projects in the past. I have some content, but I have not posted anything for a few months.
Mistakes happen, at least they can be fixed! Sorry you're encountering more than your share at the moment. I look forward to seeing the weather blanket video.
My last dog had a Lambchop. We called it Lamb-a-chop. We’re always changing up pronunciations! And of course we have a zIllion nicknames for our dog. Glad you are safe. I thought you lived in Florida for some reason.
@@EileenK64 I’m originally am from Louisiana so maybe that is why you thought I lived in Florida. I call Pirates Lambchop Lammy choppy.
Don’t feel guilty - continue praying and being positive. Hugs to you - and Pirate!!
@@ChickenLadyFiberArts thank you so much!! I forgot to mention you’re 25 in 25 but I will next week.
So glad you and your family are safe.. sending prayers to all those affected 😢.. always love your episodes.
@@theordinaryjoy thank you
Haha! We have a giant Lamb Chop dog toy too. My 55 lb lab mix looks crazy trying to shake it, it’s half her size. I’ve been praying for all of you, prayers for peace and calm for you.
@@christinaellzey1316 thanks so much
It's great to see you. Praying for all that have been affected by the fires. Stay safe!❤
@@wendyknopp1252 thank you so much. We had a small fire in our town today and I went a little crazy when I heard the fire truck going by, but it got knocked down pretty quickly.
You could order a King Cake online. One of my buddies is a Hurricane Katrina refugee and he gets them sent from New Orleans to CA. I’m sure Amy could tell you who ships. ❤
@@kasi.crafts thanks, I used to do that, now I just buy a can of cinnamon rolls and make my own, not the same, but it scratches the itch.
I’m glad you still did an episode and that you discussed the fires a bit. The devastation is real & so many people have lost all their worldly possessions & some have lost their lives. We shouldn’t be silent about it. And people should know that the reason the fires got so bad was because of the straight up criminal negligence of Gavin Newsom and the CA government.
@@kasi.crafts I’ve tried to steer away from politics on my show but this week it was hard.
@ I understand.
Praying for those affected by the fires there in California. ❤
Glad you are safe! I count grams in and out. Last year I ended up bringing 18 100grams skeins in than went out. It was an eye opener on how easy it is to buy!
@@deidragennaro1135 I know and I have more coming…oops. I almost didn’t count the acrylic but then I decided to be on the up and up.
❤❤❤
You pronounced it perfectly ❤ if you wanted to get fancy and say it the Welsh way, it's "Aweny-th" because apparently the "dd" is a "th" sound in Welsh 😆❤ And Boxers are excellent dogs for kids- we had one when I was really little, and his name, Bones, was my second word. I hope you and your family continue to stay safe, and that your yarn brings you peace and joy despite it all 💗🙏🏻
@@awenyddyarnandfiber I wrote it out as A win ed in my notes to try and get it right!! Thank you again. Those yarns are so pretty.
At 14 miles south of the Palisades fire we are safe but heartbroken for all of the people who've lost their homes. For two days we were concerned about my very elderly mom who's much closer than we are. I appreciate you deciding to record.
Thank you so much. Not that I think everyone was worried about me but I thought some people may wonder so I wanted to answer those questions. Stay safe and let me know if there is anything you need.
My dogs also love their lambchop toy. It's the best!
I think the iPad is just fine! I'm so sorry to hear about everything going on in California. It just looks terrible from what I've seen on social media, and I know that doesn't even compare to what it's like when you're there. I'm glad you're safe for now and I hope it stays that way. There's nothing wrong with being your authentic self. No one can be positive and happy all the time. What pattern is your weather blanket? I love that you're able to do two colors in one square, so smart!
@@shaunastitches thanks so much. The weather blanket is a combination of videos from ladybug laboratories . It is a playlist called blanket tutorial. As for the two colors, it is inspired by the hue shift blanket by KnitPicks. Basically, you do two rows, then switch colors till you get to the end. To get the center row, I do a double decrease on the front and when I get to that stitch on the wrong side, I slip with the yarn in front. I hope this makes sense.
@ it makes perfect sense! Thanks for sharing. I’m in no position to start any new blankets but some day!
Maybe I should do a special video about how I do it.
I’m glad you and your family are safe. I’m sorry it’s so hard. Survivor’s guilt is real. I lived through Hurricane Harvey and have friends who flooded. Prayers for everyone in LA! 🙏🏻
Sorry you had a rough week
@@LindaNixon-ws4ge thank you. I’m lucky compared to so many people.
Our dogs live outside all the time (they have 45 acres to explore), and one of our dogs definitely got into it with a skunk once. She STANK so bad for a couple of days.
@@Yarn_Chicken_ETM oh that would be awful.
Love the dog sweaters, and the dog!
@@EileenK64 thanks! He’s a character.
Ooh love seeing your projects.. those blankets are so pretty
@@theordinaryjoy thank you.
Oh Lordy! My dogs managed to live 16 years w/o getting skunked! I’m glad you were able to dodge that bullet with Pirate!
Good luck on your weather blanket! I started one Jan of 2021. Made it to Jan 28th. My dilemma is do I try to find the rest of the 2021 weather, just finish Jan 2021, then Feb this year? Or just do Jan’s for each year?!? It’s not like anyone will know (even my meteorologist son the blanket is for) that I don’t do the weather for one year, or where the weather occurred (he moved in 2021)!
@@christinaellzey1316 wow that’s a dilemma. I probably make it for the entire year of where he is now.
Starting with new tech is never easy. ❤❤❤
❤❤❤
Those dogs are so blessed! I'm enjoying the Blocked calendar. Maybe one of your dog sweaters could be included in next year's version.
@@yarnmotivated I don’t know, it isn’t my pattern.
@@yarnmotivated I don’t know. It isn’t my pattern. I need to get them done so I can get back to socks.
