This video shows you some leaded stained-glass windows I made almost 50 years ago!! They were recovered by my daughter from our home in Walnut, CA where we lived at the time they were made. These are some of my very first leaded glass projects. I had an old Fletcher glass cutter, 120 watt soldering iron my dad gave to me, a pair of grossing pliers, came knife and a hand full of horseshoes nails...

Thank you! Any tips on attaching to a piece of driftwood?
I want to learn fusing! Fantastic teaching and great projects!!!! Thank you
Bill, this is adorable! And your teaching technique just can't be beat. You provide every little detail, which results in a great finished product. Thanks for taking the time to give us such great instructions. I learn so much from every one of your projects. PS: I completed the spinner I loved following your video, in addition to the additional tips you gave me, and I have the spinner of my dreams. Mr. Stone, you are a WIZARD!!! 🧙♂️. Thank you.
Hi Jan, Thanks for your kind words, I love that you are making the projects on my channel and finding them helpful. So glad you enjoyed the spinner, and it turned out the way you wanted! The Garden Art is fun to make, and you can either do them with lead came or copper foil. I have another frog pattern I'm going to make also. Thanks for your very nice comment, it makes making these videos all worthwhile. I have always liked sharing these projects with others. So happy to hear your spinner worked out for you. Again, thanks for your comment. Have a great day!! Regards, Bill Stone

You do beautiful work I have Lear so much from you. Is everything k with you? We have not hear f😊rom you in months. Regards God Bleed He watch over you!
Love all your videos and great explanations. A little confused, though, did you slump into the mold and then drape over a former? Why not just one or the other? Perhaps I misunderstood.
Great video

Did you stretch your came? How do you know how much to stretch came?
Hi again, Yes, you need to stretch the came. I usually pull it out between 4" to 6" should be enough to get it stretch and take out any bends you may have in it. A lot of times you may purchase lead came and it comes rolled up or has been bent in half to ship it; by stretching it you get it back to straight again. Also, Stretching the came makes it stronger and easer to work with. If you have time, check out my video very first video Leaded Glass Solar Lanterns for Beginners, I made it about 2 years ago and it talks all about tools, lead came and several other things you need to know about lead came. Thanks for your comment, please feel free to ask me anything about these video projects. Have a great day. Regards, Bill Stone
My goal is to work with came more and more. Thank you for these inspirational projects!
Hi, Thanks for the comment, I'm glad these projects are inspirational for you. I have been using lead came for more than 50 years now and have always liked the way it looks oner the way copper foil looks. I have done both over the years and always go back to the lead came system. I have several video projects with copper foil you can check out when you get time. They are all Solar Lanterns which I made videos on about a year ago. Thanks for your kind words and best of luck with your projects. Again, thanks for your comment and please feel free to as me anything about these projects on my channel. Have a great day!! Regards, Bill Stone
Hi Bill! Do you stretch the came before using it? I enjoy your projects! Thank you for sharing!
Hi, Yes, you should always stretch your lead came. So glad you are enjoying these video projects. When you get a change check out the video Leaded Glass Solar Lanterns for Beginners and it talks all about everything you need to do leaded glass projects, with tips on tools and lead came. This was the first video I made and is about 2 years old. Again, thanks for your comment and enjoy the hobby of stained glass. Regards, Bill Stone
What are you using to push your pins into
Hi Jeannev' Thanks for your comment, the build board I use to make my projects on is called Homasote, it is used for a sound barrier in studios. You can get it at an old fashion lumber yard in a 4'x8' sheet. Can be cut with a standard saw. If you don't want to get a sheet that large you can find smaller sizes on Amazon and Delphi Glass. Check out both for the metal push pins. Try and find the pins that are 5/8" long. Again, thanks for your comment and please feel free to ask me about any of my videos. Regards, Bill Stone
im loving these video keep them coming please :-) im just starting lead came
Hi, So glad you found my videos, since your just getting started check out my very first video called Leaded Glass Solar Lanterns for beginners. It talks about all the tools you need and supplies. Thanks for your comment. Regards, Bill Stone
I was wondering how you were going to get those spots on 😊 this is very cute ❤
HI, Thanks for your comment, you're right the spots make it a fun project. The black vinyl film is cut on a Cricut Maker cutter, and the film is for outside use so it will stay on for a long time. Have a great day!! Regards, Bill Stone
I enjoyed this very much. ❤❤
Thanks for watching!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Regards, Bill Stone
All great techniques... but out of these I loved the pink rose one❤
So cute!!
Thanks for your comment, glade you enjoyed the video. Regards, Bill Stone

Hi, I hope this finds everything good down under!! Everything is good here, had a rough December with a real bad cold and took the better part of the month to get going again. We are both up and going again. Thanks for your comment always great to hear from you. Have a great day!! Regards, Bill Stone
@billstonesstainedglasscrea3310 oh my goodness, we had the same in December & it's hot here, going in & out from hot weather to cold air conditioning 😫 3 weeks we were sick with a cold. Well I'm glad your all better & being creative again, stay safe & well, talk soon
THANKS, is that crazy, after we started feeling better, we had little to no stamina, and it made it hard to get back into the swing of things. Glad you guys are doing better now!! Stay safe. Regards, Bill Stone
🎉When will you put a book out? You have the coolest ideas!!! I really love this light!🤩 Thank You!🌈
? Why do you put the rod over the circle? Would it be strong enough touching the circle and between the petals? You always do beautiful work!❤ I love watching 😊
Hi, So nice to hear from you again, there is no real reason I put it there other than I like the way it looks. You could solder it to the petals, and it would be plenty strong. Thanks for your kind words. Regards, Bill Stone
Thank you, great video!😊
So glad you did! I love sharing these projects. Thanks for your comment. Regards, Bill Stone
Love it
Hi Mary, Thanks for your kind words, so glad you enjoyed the video. Please keep watching and thanks again for your comment. Regards, Bill Stone
Beautiful!
Hi, Thanks for your comment, so nice to hear from you. Glad you enjoyed the video. Regards, Bill Stone
How do you get your patina sodark??? Procedure please. What patina do you use? MI e never gets that dark. Thx. Been wanting to do p!ant stakes so perfect timing.
Hi Mary, Thanks for your comment and glad you found my channel. The Patina I use is made by Novacan. I have found that it helps to get a nice dark color on your projects you need to be sure they are super clean, I go over my projects with a Scotch Brite Pad or fine steel wool to make the lead or solder shine, then wash it with cold water in Dawn Liquid soap. Dry with clean cloth or paper towel, then apply my Patina to the project. I let it set for a couple of hours then wash it off with cold water, here again with Dawn soap. I wear gloves to keep any oil on my skin off the glass and lead and solder. I then use a glass wax and shine it up!! If you want to go the extra mile, before putting on the glass wax you can than put on Black Stove Polish, let it dry and then polish it off. If I use the polish, after its dry I go over the glass with Lacquer Thinner to remove any polish I have gotten on the glass. I use a Q-Tip to both put it on and also to clean it off the glass. If you get some time, check out my video called "How To Make Your Patina Pop" it shows the whole process. If you want to take a short cut, Patina your project, then use a spray can of flat black paint and spray a little in a small cup or the cap that comes with the paint. Ware gloves and do this outside. Don't spray Stright down, but to the side of the cap so it doesn't splash back on you. You don't need much, so don't spray too long. Apply to your project with Q-Tips. Let it dry for an hour than use Q-Tips and take off any paint that you may have gotten on the glass here again with Lacquer Thinner. It Takes a lot of Q-Tips because they get dirty fast, so keep relacing them as you clean. Let me know how you make out!! Regards, Bill Stone
Thanks Bill! These are really cute. I think I'll be making several for gifts. (And for myself)
Hi Joyce, Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the project! Let me know how your gift projects turn out. It's been fun sharing these video projects with others, please check out some of my other videos on my channel when you have time. Regards, Bill Stone
Great to hear from you Bill. I made a few similar to this yrs ago with different technique for stake but still holding. 😅 Again, you taught some simple, yet great tricks for me today! I had a yard sale last fall with some crafted items and the glass pieces went quickly not so much the resin or jewelry pieces. Plan to get back on the glass creating now during winter. Having another sale in the Spring. Your channel will continue to grow! Thank you. ❤
Hi Again, So nice to hear from you again, so glad you enjoyed the Garden Art, I still have several others to share with everyone. Glad your glass projects sold so good for you at your yard sale. Sorry to be getting back to you so late, I used to get notify on my email account and for some reason they stopped doing that. So, I just found about 35 comments that I need to reply to. Have a great day. Regards, Bill Stone
So glad to watch you again. I love your channel and projects
Hi Mary, Good to have you back, glad you enjoyed the Garden Art projects, have several more I'm going to do so keep watching my channel. Thanks for your comment. Regards, Bill Stone
Very good tutorial, I have never done this before, very helpful for a beginner. I like the dichromate (sp) the best, but like them all. Can you provide the information on where to purchase all the materials, what kiln brand, etc. basically all the materials and tools. I don’t have a clue where to get the materials. Thank you .
Very nice, I like watching you make things. Your so talented 😊
Hi , Thanks for your kind words, I hope you will check out some of my other projects when you have time. It's been fun sharing these video projects with others. Thanks for your comment. Regards, Bill Stone
