    hello there.... I got my first compressor, thinking to start my new car detailing business, I got the Ridgid 4.5gal that I paid $350 at HD.... but I was thinking to return and get the FORTRESS 4 Gallon, 200 PSI for $249 ... I can save $100 and buy my Ultra AIR Blaster gun....... What do you think?.... you know? money is short. ah! and you give me an idea to buy not a VAN, but a small regular car like yours.... looks fantastic.

    Just picked up a gallon today. Will try the 4-1 dilution ratio. I've been using DIY Detail, but they only sell 16oz bottles. I use a rinseless wash about 2 times per week and I use the waterless almost everyday between washes. My truck sits outside, so there is always a fine layer of pollen on the hood, roof, and other horizontal surfaces. If I left it sit, it is very difficult to remove. So, a waterless wash several times per week works out for me. Thanks for the information.

    I started using paint sprayers back in 2016. I honestly think I mat have been one of the first to use that method. Since then I have changed my ways and use a brush for Tire dressing and only use the sprayer when in a time crunch. Reason I stopped using it was health, you end up breathing the vapors. So just be careful and wear facial protection breathing apparatus when using it

    • @jamiesdetailing
      @jamiesdetailing 2 дні тому

      I do not spray the dashboard, rubber mats or steering wheel. For the center console and dash I typically just use the product already left on my microfiber so I don’t get too much on those areas. Aqua gloss also repels dust so that’s why I still like to dress the dash I just don’t want to put too much on and make it shiny or slippery. 1 dressing product for the whole vehicle unless it is a unique vehicle / classic that I want to do something special on.

  • @Reaper-Jim

    I tried using air sprayers years and years ago but it never made it to professional use. I found that because it atomizes so well, it got the products everywhere. Even places I didn’t want it on. Yes, it’s faster and really gets in to places you need it to go but the overspray was counterproductive imo. Also, because of the excellent atomization, I had negative health effects from a few products. I will say, however, using an air sprayer on large vehicles is an absolute game changer. I’m talking full sized pickups and up. 😊😊😊

    • @jamiesdetailing
      @jamiesdetailing 2 дні тому

      I actually do not get a ton of overspray with this setup. I think it will highly depend on the gun you are using and how you have it setup to spray. This has a pretty narrow spray pattern so I get a lot less over spray than other guns I have used. It is definitely a must have for large vehicles but I use it on just about everything

    • @Juicefree
      @Juicefree 2 дні тому

      @Reaper-Jim this has ben my thoughts as well I've never used one pretty much for all the reasons you listed but if it dosent leak then maybe just maybe it could be good for tire dressing...but even then idk because I'm pretty quick with a spray bottle and a brush or a aerosol can

      @@Juicefreelast year I did an RV and the air sprayer was amazing both inside and out … however, smaller vehicles just don’t fit (imo) the tool. It would be like using a 24” polisher to polish a motorcycle gas tank. You CAN do it but is it the right tool for the job? Air sprayers have their place, not going to lie. But, generally speaking, they don’t really add value to a detail … for ME. IF others find value in them, who am I to argue? 😊😊😊

    Thanks Jamie! Great video. Couple of questions... Any plans in the future for a video to go over your vehicle setup/build (maybe I've missed it)? Also, when you're using the sprayer how badly does it get small particulates on the exterior/interior surfaces or does the product being atomized help limit the mess? I'm assuming your sprayer would be used right BEFORE the last step and then do a final wipe down of the interior, cleaning windows and for the exterior you'll apply your sealant/protection? Thanks!

    • @jamiesdetailing
      @jamiesdetailing 2 дні тому

      Yep you got it. Sometimes I get a small amount of dressing on windows and stuff but I do windows dead last so it is no big deal. I really don’t get to much overspray I. The vehicle when using the sprayer though. After using it a ton the past year or so I have a good idea of how close I can get to the edges when spraying to avoid getting dressing on stuff I don’t want it on. I can definitely do another detail rig video. Anything specific you want to see in the video?

    Jamie, I’ve been catching your videos once in a while when the algorithm throws one at me. This one really grabbed my attention though. I have been trying to decide what single brand I could use as my “go to”. I’ve tried some Meguiars, Suds Lab, Turtle Wax, and some Superior Products. I’ve also had some good luck with P&S products because of bulk availability. But they’re still more pricey than Superior Products. After hearing you say what I’ve been thinking , I’m convinced I can give my customers just as good a job using a non designer brand product. Also, I like your advice because it’s down to earth and based on practical experience running a business and having to make decisions based economics and profitability. Ok- I don’t know if I’m making sense or just rambling so I am going to hit the like and subscribe buttons and ring the bell. Thanks for your good and thoughtful work.

    Hey Jamie, what is the dilution ratio you use pink perfection in your foam cannon?

    • @jamiesdetailing
      @jamiesdetailing 9 днів тому

      Honestly I just guesstimate around 4 ounces. Are used to measure out exactly 4 ounces but now I kind of just give it the old pour

    Completely agree about PP being versatile. Can’t argue results. I’m still on the OnR for everything train, however. Glass, plastic, rubber, vinyl, upholstery, paint, aluminum, chrome, wraps, tints … the list goes on and on. Yes, OnR can even be used to clean carpets. Add it to your steamer and your punching power goes up significantly. Nearly unlimited off label uses … cleaning tools, wet duster, household cleaning, cleans everything in and out of the garage (including interior/exterior walls & windows). Are there more effective cleaners? Of course. But OnR is effective enough for everything I need it to do. Are there more lubricated products? Yes, again. But OnR is more than adequately lubricated for everything I need it to do. Are there cheaper cleaners? Sure! But OnR is pretty cheap and still cleans great and safely. I rarely use acid or alkaline cleaners now days. But then I rarely see trashed vehicles at this stage in my career. I know it’s a bunch of snobbery but I’ve put decades in the trenches to earn the right to pass on vehicles not worthy of my attention. I don’t use foam or foam cannons or dirt traps or specialty chemicals or what ever else is trending. It’s a bunch of nonsense … imo. I use what works best for me … and that’s OnR. It’s the “be all - end all” product … to me. But I also understand that not everyone works like I do. OnR might be the devil’s brew to another detailer. 😊😊😊

    I picked it up the other day and I am impressed with it, I’ve tried more expensive brands that don’t work as well. I’ve also swapped wheel and tire cleaners to wire wheel cleaner and muscle magic for tires.

    Can confirm, Pink Perfection is the best apc I’ve ever used. It’s super effective and doesn’t scorch surfaces when you follow with steam. Also incredible in a foam cannon. I universally use it at 4:1.

      It cleans carpets and cloth seats very well. Leaves a fresh citrus scent. I add 1 to 2 oz to Zap it for an extra kick. 10 to 1 as a APC, great on plastics, leather, vinyl.

    Going to begin using more Superior Products in my detail jobs. This is one I’m definitely gong to try, by making a pre-soak to be foamed onto vehicles before doing Rinseless washes! If an interior is just dusty, Rinseless Wash works very good, but any sort of grimy buildup, definitely need an APC to get an interior cleaned. Will be trying this out in interiors as well. Again, many thanks for sharing your insights and what you've found works for you in your detailing business!
