pikmin 1 ≠ pikmin 4. pikmin 4 is diferent universe beacause pikmin 1 true ending is good ending but in pikmin 4 true olimar ending is bad

I thought about something that might help the onion theory, in the beginning oatchi is scared of the pikmin but later becomes very friendly to them. But what if instead of just warming up to them what if the onion influenced oatchis mind to become friendly as unlike the more advanced aliens like olimar who could resist these thoughts oatchis mind is less advanced so it could be more easily influenced?

I do find the idea fascinating but I remain unsure. I always beloved there was something other worldly that was the cause of so many crashes doubly so in pikmin 4 tho I doubt it’s the onions doing it as in pikmin 3 with the narrator it kind of hints at something more suspicious or sinister being the cause. While sure onions have a kind of their own I highly doubt they’re able to do something as major as pulling in multiple space ships also a lot of the times especially with the castaways, people don’t land near an onion and pikmin 4 barely does anything to hint at that idea either I think something bigger is going on as to what it is I remain unsure

So something I've thought about is that onions get nutrients to grow more pikmin from 2 main sources, pellets and enemies. Well in Pikmin 4, we find out that enemy corpses contain sparklium, which can be used as a fuel source for a verity of things! So the sparklium that the onion would naturally take in by being fed an enemy could then be used by said onion to preform the tasks it needs to do!

What if the sirehound was a genetically modified dog? From humans I mean. We already have the capacity to do limited genetic modification in real life, so this isn't a stretch. If the sirehound was a test subject for experimentation, and over time people made onions using that knowledge, would make sense imo. Onions seem to be indestructible, at the very least unable to break via any known means, and they seem to be more specialized. The sirehound has a lot of strong abilities, but the onions only make creatures that are resistant to said abilites (or just have it built in like the poison pikmin). He also doesn't really seem to be killable, especially since he just kinda walks away after an intense battle with seemingly zero damage done to him. More like he was walking away from flies bothering him. If the sirehound was an original creation though, could imply that dna overrode the leafling, making oachi independent and maybe develop those powers in the future. So he's not actually cured, he just doesn't need to rely on a signal like the onions to function anymore, and it hides the infection since it isn't that far from his normal self. It's an interesting thought and I can't remember if it was you or someone else who thought of it, but one can make a decent argument for pikmin being war machines from small humans.

What if we rephrase the " leave the planet" to "leave the onions range"? Minus caves, it seems onion control is global and the caves seem to be very metallic, which does interfere with waves.

when you mentioned approx 40k years ago, i actually think about the leafling sage being their original and real owner instead. on the mention of embodying glow pikmin im also thinking what if since they took in both onion exposure and glows it ended up cancelling each other out and ended up with the dog getting both powers but none of the leaf? since the glow also cured leaflings in first place

ok but now i wonder, if there's actually a third explaination... what if glow pikmins ARE pikmins who got left behind BUT got converted? Making it technically NOT pikmin but another natural predator for onions' pikmin? Maybe that's why onions try to avoid night and that's why these lumine things called enemies... they called enemies that have eaten pikmin and convert these eaten pikmins into theirs.

I have a theory that a mass extinction event happened and after the onion went dormant, which after a pikmin extinction the onion shoots out one Pikmin seedling, and there being no more pikmin on the surface after the mass extinction event that made the onion dormant, when is reactivated it of course it's shoots out seedling.

I don’t think the pickmin really know what they’re doing much like everyone else they want to survive so they listen to orders or be confused when an onion is in the picture it acts like a nest weather the pickmin creates it or the onion makes them is unknown either way I think they listen to it’s orders almost as much as they listen to the captain’s orders if the onion can gain control of a captain it can grow with other onions gain more pickmin and have control over them for almost infinite range the helmet may stop captins from being turned weather it is from the onions abilities or the atmosphere wich would probably just kill them i think this can go into a glow pickmin theory I will speak if asked

I love Pikmin and this channel! I was really excited to watch this one, but idk the energy was a bit off? Idk I felt like the host just wasn't that into the topic... Maybe it's just me. Still though, there's lots of creepy stuff in the Pikmin franchise! One aspect that always really freaked me out was how both Olimar and Charlie have worries that the Pikmin are using the captains to explode their numbers and overrun the planet. One of those "are we using them, or are they using us?" Especially paired with the bad ending of Pikmin 1, there's just always something slightly sinister about the Pikmin that I find fascinating and creepy. Another one would be the Final Trial music from Pikmin 1. It's absolutely my favorite track in the game, and I love how it pairs dissonant chromatic notes with a very light and positive flute melody. It's a song that I feel perfectly encapsulates the cute surface of Pikmin while also pointing you toward that slightly sinister aspect ... seriously it's such a cool and perfectly creepy song!

I diagnose you with "didn't do enough research and/or observation". I prescribe some Piklopedia, taken once ocularly each [unit of time] for [duration]. My thoughts on the arachnorbs in regards to this theory are that their ancestors went in a wildly different direction with the materials they consume and use to make up their bodies, since more "conventional" materials were either now hazardous or hard to come by, so those that could succeed using alternative sources of nutrition and structural support were more likely to survive and propagate.

I have a question. Enemies are frozen by Ice Pikmin. But the rescue pups cannot be frozen. I understand the Ancient Shirehound being invincible, but the fur of Oatchi and Moss is to short not too be froze by 100 Ice Pikmin. This leads be to believe that the pups have some sort of Ice ability and were born in the cold. This means that both Oatchi and Moss might have been born in cold areas, grown some kind of invincible to Ice, and were tooken away from the cold to be a rescue pup. This also might mean Moss was not born on PNF-404 and was born a rescue pup from another planet. Or all Pups have grown invincible to cold because of The Ancient Shirehound. What do you guys think?

I think Bulborbs are mammals and once all had hair. Why? Because the hairy bulborbs are, well, hairy. I think all bulborbs had hair and lost it over time. They might a relative of dogs or rescue pups. Of course, the hairy Bulborbs are still hairy. But they are a whole different species of the Bulborb. I think this Bulborb just has a diffrent skin pattern and kept the hair from the older Bulborbs. It kept the hair because it makes it warm in the cold, while the other Bulborb's stayed in warmer areas and had no need for hair. That's why lost it and that means that Bulborb's were once creatures in cold area's like Distant Tundra or Valley of Repose. This is my theory about the ancient Bulborb's.

Something I think about with the pikmin series is Arthur C Clarke quote "Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic", but from a reverse perspective. Everyone always tries to explain everything through scientific means, but there are plenty of things on the planet that border on supernatural/magical. This isn't a dig on your theory, but why do we need a conventional explanation for the Sirehound. Hand waving things away with magic is usually a bad explanation for things, but Pikmin 4 is filled with things the characters don't understand. The Waterwraith, the nature of the glow pikmin, how caves stop time. Even the dandori locations where Colin express he doesn't know where the player is. There's no reason fantasy and sci-fi can't exist hand in hand, Star Wars is proof of that, so maybe things on the pikmin planet are more supernatural than they're letting on.

Glow pikmin are kodama. Yokai that act as tree spirits. The same thing that koroks are based on.

A personal theory of mine is that the onions we use in storymode and dandori battles are different. As dandori onions are different in many ways, such as having pikmin be withdrawn from the onion instead of being shot out as seeds and the whole case with the gaint bomb rock. Those onions even house many different pikmin species while looking the same to each other, because of these leafings' ,for a lack of a better word, hair are the color as their hair pre-leafication. Plus, Olimar's color is because he was taken to a normal onion and became red because he was brought to the onion by red pikmin. Of course a theory of mine.

I'm pretty sure that Olimar leafing did meet the sage leaf because how would olimar have found the trial of the sage leaf in the first place.

Pikmin has some of the best mechanics out of all the Nintendo games.
