ARCHERY SHOT PLACEMENT!! (one simple trick)
And old person lie 30… ouch
All just jokes, they’ll catch up with me one day when some kid calls me old too 😂
I have a 200 dollar compound bow and it works great on deer
How about a video on setting that thing up? Would love to see you set draw length and weight, even try and paper tune
Heck ya killed my first 125 w my bow yesterday
Check out the beast broadheads the technology is insane! Good luck!
You could get that thing dialed in and shoot with the best of them.
Love my Bear Karnage. And Killer Instinct crossbow.
It that deer weird color or wet
She’s in color change with the weather
I've got 3 days till open season 🦌🏹🎯💀
Junxing max 7. Looks almost like a mathews. Kit is like $280. After spott hogg sight, drop away rest, uv release, and FMJ arrows, I can hit 120 yards reliability as long as i do my job. It's an amazing deal. The limbs are American made.
Bro is shooting a righty now lefty
That’s the only dexterity they make 😂😭 had to for the review
No, you're just concentrating more at 40 than 30. A bow has no ability to shoot better at a longer distance than a shorter distance.
An old person who’s like 30 damn that cut deep
😂😂 I was hoping someone would notice that jab
@@joshuadouglasarchery you got me buddy. My niece the other day said I was old when I told her how old i was. I was like damn I don’t feel it
Little tip: its not the bow, its the operator
Just got one of these bows for my nephew and was super surprised at how powerful it is. The ibo is only 300 but with a 500 grain arrow anything out to 30 is 💰..
I own this bow, I was in contact with sanlida during it's release so I'm pretty sure I'm one of the first people in canada to have one. I bought it for the latter reason, money's tight these days but I want to get into hunting. I've learned a lot on this bow as my local tech won't touch it (because I didn't by a $800 bow off of him). The limb bolts need to be evened and then cams timed and lean adjusted before stacking arrows on a target. I also suggest changing the rest, will start melting after about 100 arrows or so and get a tie in peep. Also before installing new peep and tightening the d loop, shoot it 50+ times to relax the string so it doesn't twist. The auto aline peep on it doesn't allow the string to turn into a relaxed position so remove it basically right away. Bow will paper tune and split nocks at 25 yards with better arrows, 55-60# seems to be the sweet spot to where the bow wants to be. No problem getting out to 60 but I don't plan on hunting past 35-40 so I've got the bottom pin set to 50, seems about 3/4" before arrow contact on the sight is a worry. I shoot 440 grain arrow with 15% foc
Heck yeah, great info brother! Glad you’re getting into hunting, let me know how it goes for you!
@@joshuadouglasarchery 2 geese and 9 grouse so far. I'm not confident enough to take a shot at a deer yet so haven't picked up a tag, maybe this season but more than likely next year I'll plan on filling a deer tag.
Your shooting it backwards left hand goes on the bow and your right hand pulls back the bow string
I’m left handed, they just only make this bow in right handed so I had to shoot that way for the video
I’m surprised your that on shooting it backwards lol
Yeah, they only make right handed models, gotta do what you Gotta do for a review
@@joshuadouglasarchery says more about your skill than anything. well adapted im impressed
BRO WHAT IS ON YOUR PEEP
I think buying a diamond would be a better choice imo.
What’s your reasoning?
@@joshuadouglasarchery you get a proven brand and allows you to buy from a pro shop.
@@Lucas-tk8fd if you’re getting a diamond that’s in the same price range as this I don’t know how “proven,” it is
@@joshuadouglasarchery there made by bowtech?
I would have to agree. Diamonds are cheap and extremely reliable for the price point. Very good beginner bows.
Wrong dextery of bow
Yes I know
I would hate looking for those arrrows
My buddy has vanes that color and we couldn’t see them in the target at 30 yards. Made him go get some vanes and am going to re fletch then for him lol
@@junkyardboost8372 ya it sucks but they look cool as hell tho
Works great for me
I've used those for years. Went with the 258 hybrids this year. Hope to have a little more entry wound, and more blood.
It is most likely out of tune one way or the other, timing, centershot, etc. The longer shots are allowing time for the fletchings to straighten out the flight path. I shot my out of tune bow in the dark with lighted knocks and it shows you a lot of what the arrow does when it leaves the bow wrong. Tail whipping and spiraling to the target with erratic impacts. Further out the arrow straightens out.
Cant shoot better at 40 than 30. Its impossible
How do you figure
i shoot better at 50 than i do at 40, its weird how it works lol
The Easton factory and the goldtip factory are across from each other in the same Salt Lake City valley.
they use to kill deer with a rock on the end of a stick them broadhead's will do the job just fine
nice looks good
Cool. Though I don’t think your supposed to shoot over a road
It’s a trail on the property, not an actual road. Thank you for being cautious though! Definitely don’t want to be shooting over roads
Great podcast! You are putting out some good content man!!
I'm just gonna drop this here. If the Indians used lower technology to harvest buffalo, I think this would do better than just a doe . 😂
The downside to these bows are they are Chinese clones of other bows. Archery is one thing that it is relatively easy to buy made in America. There are great American made budget options like Bear or Darton.
Cool video thanks for looking after the people that can't afford nice stuff.
Instead of a Mathews Lift🤣😂 I would definitely buy this bow before wasting money on a Mathews anything. Nice review.
I’d take a budget bow or a couple year old flagship over a newer 1000 plus bow not worth it to me I shot a 2019 Hoyt Helix I got for $500 in new like condition with new stings and cables. If you’re hunting you don’t need to spend all that much to kill a deer at 30 yards or less if you need to shoot farther maybe get better at stalking
Oneida is made in the us
Unless youre running all the same color vanes and marking the one where your arrow is a perfect bullet hole then you need to bareshaft tune to get the stiffest part of the spine. After that its useless
Nice man! I appreciate you testing it for what it’s meant to be, not trying to compare it to a flagship
I just killed my first ever deer with a bow this past Sunday 9/15 on opening day with my Dragon X8! I have been pretty happy with it overall but have also made some important changes like the rest to a drop-away and custom stabilizers. I am a complete beginner in archery and wanted to get into it cheap. I also bought new arrows with the correct spine that made a HUGE difference to my groups. I have a 29in draw, pulling 70lbs, with 500 grain arrows, with mechanical and fixed blade broadheads. I had solid pass through for a double lung shot at 25 yards
Awesome! Glad you could get your first deer!!
that cable slider almost falls off the rod.
They really shaved off every ounce they could 😂
Wait a minute...Sanlida makes left-handed bows now????????
No unfortunately not!
@@joshuadouglasarchery Oh, so your phone camera mirrored the video images. LOL
@@l.i.archer5379 no it’s definitely a right handed bow in the videos, I am just shooting it left handed!
They never make lh bows.
It’s a real struggle for us lefties
I got the dragon x8 for my daughter. She is loving the bow. The best part is I can adjust it as she grows. We just did a 3D course over the weekend. The bow performed perfectly.
Most people that are going to buy that bow will shoot it static(index). Probably have less up and downs.
Nice video Josh. I considered the Dragon 10 for a long time before I went with the blackout.
The only problem with Sanlida they don’t make left handed bows
They did up until 4 months or so ago.
Great idea for a guy who loves archery to have sitting around to let people who ask questions about archery to try out.
allen archery stuff is all junk in my experience
I now hunted before carbon arrows . Learn to judge your yardage . Arrow weight don't matter . High Country carbon forerunner on 58 lbs . 100 grain board Head . Pass though both shoulders at 40 yards . Bow tuned right and good aluminum arrow did the job .
