Great video man! I haven't heard about the technique of relaxing through the release. I'm going to try that, thanks!!

Great info! I shoot an index release, and I have definitely battled target panic several times. I actually do pretty well normally, but any techniques or advice will definitely be helpful next time I start having issues.

Hi Joshua. Quick question - not really related to this video 🤔. Any suggestion on setting up a sight tape when you have limited space (20y max)?

Work on your form first. Including being in shooting shape. You must be able to draw and hold to complete a good shot cycle WITHOUT RUSHING because you aren’t in shape. Lower DW for more control? Have to retrain your brain that you CAN hit the target. Large targets like a paper dinner plate at 10-15 yards. try drawing, aiming with your eyes on the plate NOT ON THE PIN and then don’t fire. Showing your mind that you CAN let down. Showing that you DO NOT HAVE TO SHOOT . You are in control. Even say this to yourself “ I am in control”, not I am going to be in control. Do not worry where the arrow hits. Let the pin float wherever it goes and then work on finishing out the shot. You may need to move your feet so you are not forced the bow and pin toward the plate . Ideally, you want the body to be in a natural position. This will help reduce any effort for you to move your bow arm or feet after you have drawn. Working on form and getting it right will let your mind know it’s entirely possible to hit that target every shot. After many many days and you are doing great step back a few yards. You have to show yourself that you CAN shoot at distance and hit the plate. Don’t just jump back to 40 yards. Work your out slowly over many QUALITY ONLY shots. Remember, if the shot cycle from the beginning doesn’t feel smooth and controlled LET DOWN. You don’t want go ahead and fire. Start over. Step one!
