Hello everyone!
I am a home cook who is always hunting, researching for new easy and yet delicious dishes to cook for the whole family. As eating well and right is my focus, I target on only using food ingredients which are mainly unprocessed real food (ie. not from highly processed in cans, no preservatives, no MSG, no additives, no colorings etc.) in the recipes. Bare minimum ingredients are used to make cooking easy and fuss free.
Hope my videos can help those who find cooking at home troublesome and daunting.

Proven Brain Booster- Cacao Walnut Milk
This is a natural diary-free brain booster milk which is prefect for everyone. There is really no need to spend on expensive highly processed walnut milk in cartons.
Add in some superfood cacao powder which has also brain boosting properties and a few Medjool dates and you will get an amazing chocolate walnut milk.
Ingredients
2 cups raw walnut
4 cups filtered water
5/6 pcs dried Medjool dates
1 heaped TBS cacao powder
Optional:
A pinch cinnamon powder

Traditional snack here for us Hokkien here in the the Philippines too. Our Hokkien name for this dish is Lum Piah, which the common unknowledgeable Filipinos claim their dish now, but really is Chinese. They even commonly called the fried lumpia Lumpiang Shanghai which is non existing in Shanghai.

How long did it take to make the popiah? (The whole process)
It depends on how much you are making as the cutting takes a bit of time. Also the lenght of simmering time is also up to individual preference. The longer it is simmered, the sweeter it is. Overnight popiah is best as it gets sweeter. Hope this helps🙂

The commercially sold ones do not have the same flavours as the traditional hokkien style ones. Popiah dish has evolved over time. Each has its own fans.

Hello, u mean fresh lotus leaf? I have not seen it sold fresh in my country. It comes dried and imported from China. Hence, have not tried using fresh lotus leaves before.🙂

Thanks for your comment and interest in this dish. I agree that sweet dark sauce is hard to get. The cooked vegetable is already so tasty that the dark sugar, caramel & flour sauce used can be omitted for a healthier version.

Hi there almond flour is expensive in south africa could you use oat flour
Thanks for being interested in this recipe. I have milled rolled oats into flour and used in the recipe. It works for the stated recipe in the video and tasted fantastic too. However, you will need to add half a cup of water first and then add TBSP by TBSP until the the dough is sticky enough to form a dough ball. Oats are more absorbent than almond flour. Also, you may need to add a couple or more minutes to the baking time to crisp up the crackers. Hope this helps😀 Enjoy baking.

What sweet sauce are you using? Thick soya sauce?
It is sweet flour sauce. Hokkien is called pronounced something like Tee (1) Jiu (3). Used to buy the one with Buddha image but like no longer in production.
