I got the Rev War set when I was six or so. They were blue/red soft plastic, 3d, about 1/72 scale. Used them alongside the Airfix Colonials, British and Highlanders. I loved them, artillery, Mohawks, cavalry.

Russ Heath drew the ads for the Revolutionary War and the Roman battlefield. IIRC, he received only $150 for the Roman ad. He didn't draw the ad for the one with the soldiers you shared in this video. I met Russ many times over a 20 year period and own a number of pieces of his original art. He was one of the premier artists for war and western comics for more than 50 years, highly regarded by his peers and fans.

I got scammed in the 70's with this set, my parents actually sent them back. Looking at the picture as a kid I thought I was getting a force to play with my cousin's Marx Guns of Navarone set.

Circa 1970, my friend from next door ordered this set. I felt like he got hosed, but he was pretty happy. He ordered two more sets, painted half the figures yellow, and made a sand table. He saw a sand table on a movie and thought it was the coolest way to envision a battle. He'd reconstruct battles from descriptions and diagrams he found in books. I don't know what happened to Kenny after his family moved, but I wouldn't be too shocked if he went on to West Point.

I wanted these so bad . I'm glad I never could convince anyone to order it for me. Besides I had my Star Wars , GI Joe , Flash Gordon , Buck Rogers ,Battlestar Galactica figures to keep me busy. Some how they all fit in together . I did get the Sgt Rock army figures play set in 1982. They looked like normal army men expect two figures were marked. Sgt had a Sgt stripe on his helmet and the bad guys there leader had a gold helment. I played with those for about six months. Different times for sure.

I got suckered by this add, because of the cool illustration. I already had Marx military figures, but this foot locker of soldiers seemed like a GREAT DEAL! Ha! Yes 4-6 wks for shipping was a normal thing. It was huge disappointment when they finally showed up in my mail box. I imagine they eventually ended up in my garbage. There were many things I wish I had kept that are valuable to someone. This set, now that I see it again, brings back some nostalgia. It has a certain charm to it. If I still had it I'd display it.

They were the best bb gun targets ever made especially if you turn them sideways, and good luck repacking them. And the cardboard sub was interesting but lasted about a week and didn't look a bit like the ad. I recall order a live monkey ad never got that one.

I ordered a set of them back in the late 70's or early 80's. I figured the army guys would be low quality, but I was hoping the foot locker would be cool. It was just a cardboard box. Super bummed.

WAVES and WACs were women's volunteer military groups that served mostly stateside during WWII. Women's Army Corps (WACs) were the Army version, while the Navy had Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES). They did mostly paper-pushing administrative duty to keep things moving stateside. While, as an adult, I think they're pretty interesting to learn about historically speaking, as an 8 year old kid, getting 16 women standing at attention (and honestly we can lump the 8 saluting officers in here) seemed like a dead-boring waste of 24 figures worth of space in that cardboard footlocker, let me tell you. A total waste of time. Oh, 4-6 weeks was completely the norm back then for mail-away. First, the mail was slower (non-computerized), then they'd have to get your order and process the check or money order (wait for it to clear) and then they'd put out in line to be picked (again, much slower since not computerized), and then shipped to you (packages always took extra time, and again, were not computerized). As a kid, anything I ever sent away for I completely forgot about by the time it actually came. I'd just get a random package in the mail one day out of the blue, and I'd have to open it to remember even ordering it to begin with. 4-6 weeks was a long time in little kid time. LOL. 6-8 weeks was the other shipping time you'd see a lot back then. Dude, that's two months. Might as well be two years to a kid.

6:21 DUDE 4 to 6 WEEK PACKAGE DELIVERY WAS LIKE THAT UNTIL THE 90’s. NO JOKE, I remember waiting 8 WEEKS just for a response from “Topps Card Company” because we would submit our own “Garbage Pail Kids”. It took 8 weeks just for a LETTER & it was only to “New York”, which I live “right below” in Pennsylvania. Yeah looking back I think they used to take their time on purpose😡

It's weird they said no Canadian or foreign orders because I come from the Great White North and I had these. I ordered them from the back of a comic book, and they arrived in the promised 4-6 weeks. I won't lie, I was expecting the classic 3D "army men" but after the initial disappointment wore off, I played with these for YEARS. I still have a couple of survivors on my shelf almost 50 years later. No regrets.

one of your videos just popped up on UA-cam o I checked out the channel. The camera on the astronauts is most likely based on the camera attached to many moon landing astronauts. Search for "Hasselblad astronaut" on images and you will see some photos. The box with the hose and other "cases" that the astronauts hold I image is based on the air containing units astronauts used to use once suited up and on their way to the launch pad. A for the Tim Mee Galaxy Laser Team (I never knew that was the name of the line), I had many of these s a child (still do) as a fan of that certain movie. There is a also an X-wing knockoff. Basically it looked like an F-16 but with four wings arranged in an X-shape rather than two wings. Edit that I just noticed that you showed the X-wing in the thumbnail image.

In the Halloween set the station wagon is the government vehicle that Michael stole from Dr. Loomis and the Nurse to escape from the asylumn. With Annie on the phone she's also wearing her shirt with no pants as she took them off to put them in the wash. GREAT DETAIL!!! Young Michael was not wearing "his Pajama's" as you say, he was wearing his clown costume. Dr. Loomis was NOT wearing a lab coat, he was wearing a trench coat. Other than that great video and THANK YOU for bringing these to my attention. I may have to get these and maybe watch this company. Also I skipped your sketches for the most part. You were losing me on those. I just came for the product.
