I still have my army men from the early 90s, their modern Americans. I'm glad my dad hasn't thrown them away like he has done with almost everything else. I WAS going to start my own army men channel, but my dad has chucked away my £110 video camera!!!! I always enjoy your vids!
Love your videos Man wish my Town had alot of good quality Army Men that's really hard to find. Especially in my town it's expensive to order good ones online but I will continue to still look and keep my hopes up.
Oh neat! Nice review, I'd been seeing these kinds of soldiers pop up on my searches every so often and didnt know a lot about them/when theyre from. Might have to grab a few sometime!
I don't know if you've noticed, but older army men from yesteryear tended to have more NON-COMBAT poses such as marching, saluting, flagbearers, etc. I find it disturbing that modern companies are doing all action "blood and guts" poses, and would prefer if they started getting back more to "camp duties" and other less violent figures. What do you think? Also, on a historical note, Richard O'Brien has a photo in his book "Collecting Foreign Made Toy Soldiers" of some plastic toy soldiers that were made as far back as the early 1940's in Germany. These were made as free thank-you tokens to be given away to people who contributed to the Winterhilfswerk, which was the Nazi campaign to collect used clothing for the poor. Keep up the good videos!
THESE AND OTHER SETS BACK THEN WHERE MADE FOR TRAINING CAMPS SET-UP.MY BROTHERS AND I HAD THEM ALL AS KIDS IN THAT TIME ERA.THE SIZES RANGE FROM 45MM TO 1/32 SCALE.
I made an order today on BMC toys, hopefully I won't get stung with a surprise customs bill again. All I need now is a bag of white ones! I also have some Disney toy story soldiers, I think I may have mentioned them in previous comments. I've been to the shop today also to get a lottery ticket.
I received my BMC soldiers package today, here over the pond in England! I really like them. I got the Iwo Jima American WWII soldiers in tan and olive drab, I also got the Oasis tree set and the fall tree kit!!!! I won £2.30 on the euros the other day, so no big £1000,000 gift just yet. I will let you know via Email if I ever win the jackpot!!!!
Ima nerd so ima say something sorry if I’m annoying but they first army men was made during the American revolution but first use to play with was after the war
When we mention army men we tend to speak more specifically about plastic figures. Toy soldiers have been around for thousands of years but plastic army men have only been around since the thirties.
