Thank you for posting this GL episode. I watched GUIDING LIGHT from late 1981 until GL's cancellation in Sept. 2009. GL had seen me through scholastic snafus; employment debacles and neurosurgeries too numerous to mention here [along with eye/orthopedic operations]. I have had the amazing opportunity to meet some of my favorite GL actors at various events over the years. I was honored to meet Michael Zaslow in Sept. 1998 and I have met Bradley Cole, Robert Newman & Vincent Irizarry at various GL meet-and-greets years ago. Everyone was so kind to me and I miss GUIDING LIGHT and its actors terribly. Thank you so much for posting this episode in its entirety. xoxo Love, Ali xoxo

I was vacationing in New York I’m the 90’s, and one night decided to stop by the Cafe Carlyle. I didn’t have a reservation or the money for an evening there, so I just stood behind the glass entrance looking in, just so o could get a glimpse of the great Bobby Short entertaining the elegant room. At some point, Mr. Short noticed me watching from his vantage point, and gave me a big smile. It made my night, and I never forgotten it.

I really wish CBS and the other stations would just stream these series. They're interesting and historically important. Surely at this point no one is expecting to get any profit from it, unless perhaps the actors have a syndication clause in their contracts.

Oh my God that’s Leslie. She was Rick’s mother. Rick was the only good thing that ever came from Ed. Poor Maureen.

I like that Hazel as a foil for Jo and as a fan of classic soap opera and acting, love the contrast between both actresses. Mary Stuart, though. I just mean what a treat to play bad and she basically had the responsibility of being the leading lady of the top rated soap. That means some people probably set their watches to what Jo Barron said and did. Let’s pretend for a moment we are all actresses and one wants to leave Henderson whilst the other to live and one got to have some fun but also keeps a very detailed journal…just what acting choices would be an appropriate line to walk between creating a character while still allowing for the magic of television. How do we factor these things in the present? I don’t know and I have concerns.

This makes me think of my grandmother. She mostly watched the CBS soaps, but always switched to NBC to see what Rachel and Ada were up, and then went back to CBS for "The Edge of Night" when AW ended.
