I dont even know how to start this comment but it'll be a long one. First off im so excited that your playing this game its an absolute rollercoaster. Joels death divided the fan base but if you trust the process this game will reward you with one of if not the best stories in gaming its easy to get hung up on his death and judge the game based off just that. But you got alot of game to go and alot of emotions to process along the way. Btw that was Sams toy in Ellies room, also a good way to look closer at things is with the photo mode also the dog in Jackson is the one you saw as Joel on the Dam in the first game and the guy behind the dog is the composer for the last of us music. Now for the real tips 1 : ropes you can use for climbing can also be thrown over different things besides where the story wants you to go to find secret spots with loot. 2 : the new Dodge,Prone Jump and Squeeze through mechanics are all great clean additions and can all be used to enhance combat so use them. You can also jump down on people from above. 3 : be very thorough in this one especially an "open section" coming up lots of goodies you'll probably spend alot of time here getting everything. 4 : check Ellies journal every once in awhile especially after cutscenes that seem to have time jumps like after Joels death or greater time jumps that the game specifies time has passed. Lots of good lore to be had. Thats all for this one, as always cant wait for more i love these videos.

About time! Part 1 was the best game ever. Part 2 is not a game. It’s a life altering experience. Take your time. It’s at least four times longer than TLOU1 with many characters and locations you have to remember. I can’t stress enough,, NEVER follow anyone. You are the leader. They will wait. You’re a looter, and there’s a ton of rewarding stuff. If an area exists, there’s a reason. Don’t miss a door, alley, etc. Loved your experience with TLOU1. Looking forward to seeing your emotional breakdown and angst. Fun! PS: Trust the game. Do not judge.

Ah the episode I've been waiting for for so long. Now I know you don't like her, and yes I called Metyr a her because she's the Mother of all Fingers as well as a Daughter of the Greater Will. I personally really like her, I've always adored her lore but in my first 2 playthroughs of the DLC I HATED fighting her now that I've done it 5 times I actually really like her as a boss and love her lore as well. When doing a tier list I put Metyr in S tier but objectively putting her in A tier might be more fitting. Before I start discussing the contents of this episode to answer your question if you messed anything up or missed anything. You didn't mess up anything, but you did miss a spell outside of Manus Metyr in the little Graveyard portion it's a Sorcery so if you want it for collecting satisfaction its there, but if you don't care for Sorceries it's there regardless lol. Oh and Shaman Village is 100% Marika's home village. This DLC also with that Minor Erdtree Incantation confirms along with Messmer's Kindling that Melina is 100% Marika's daughter and Messmer's little sister. As for Jolan and Ymir's questlines you didn't mess that up. Using the Iris of Grace or Occultation is a story choice to end 2 different questlines and without being told you'd have NO natural way to know which choice to make. I'd say with Jolan you made the right choice as her Katana is a pretty good weapon. Had you of used the Iris of Grace you'd of received her as an Ash Summon. Also there's more to Shaman Village so you'll want to revisit it, you missed a Talisman there that will be VERY important for the Final Boss of the DLC It's near a creepy looking tree towards the back right portion of the village. As well as a secret platforming bit that leads down to a tower you can't enter any other way that has some cool stuff in it. Also had you of gotten Jolan's Ash Summon and went to that secret tower behind Shaman Village you'd find Jolan's sister Anna and then you could've changed her Ash and gotten the Jolan and Anna Spirit Ash. Which tbh looks and feels cool but is a bit underwhelming. You chose better getting the sword imo. There's a lot to discuss with this episodes contents as well as the Manus Metyr questline. This area and questline has THE MOST important lore in ALL of the DLC. Yes even more important than Miquella's stuff. That's because this questline covers the origins of the world, the hidden truths behind Marika and the Fingers, and most importantly we actually through this questline learn the true nature of one of the Outer Gods/True Gods in that we learn about the Greater Will itself. Metyr's boss fight to a lot of Souls players reminds them of Rom from Bloodborne. To me she reminds me more of Ebrietas again from Bloodborne. She's under a church and she holds a dark secret of the world we thought we knew. Remember, throughout the base game we the Tarnished are guided by the Two Fingers their will is what guides us along our journey it's the truth we're led to believe. They pass along to the Lands Between the words of The Greater Will. Metyr is their Mother, and in her remembrance you should look at the Staff she can give you and read its lore. It says: "The Mother received signs from the Greater Will from the beyond of the microcosm. Despite being broken and abandoned, she kept waiting for another message to come.". The Greater Will sent her as its representative first. At one point in time she was furthering the will of The Greater Will. She broke at some point though and was then abandoned. In the past she could birth Two Fingers. Now she can only birth Finger Creepers as you saw from her fight. So what broke her? The two theories as of right now is A). she was attacked by The Finger Slayer Blade that the Nox developed and then there's theory B). she gave birth to the Three Fingers which broke her as she had been tainted by Chaos. None of us know which is correct and this will definitely go on to be a discussion point for years to come. As for me personally I like the second theory better. As in Midra's Manse behind his secret portrait there are cloths thrown over large mounds. Data Miners have revealed that those mounds are Finger mounds/corpses. I personally believe that Metyr despaired and gave into Chaos and was then abandoned after birthing the Three Fingers. Another interesting thing is her boss room. It reminds me of the Altar of Despair that Ebrietas was in in Bloodborne, but even more so it reminds me of The Elden Beasts boss room. Both are filled with water and have cosmic design. The Elden Beast was also a Star sent down with the Elden Ring by the Greater Will once Marika became a god. So to me it replaced Metyr. The big thing I want this comment to get across to you is that this whole game we knew something was weird about the Fingers, but with Metyr's lore as well as Ymir's wisdom we outright confirm. They weren't just weird or off. The Fingers were wrong, and were manipulating all of us with outdated at best information or were downright manipulating us with actively wrong information and were making shit up just to use us for their own ends at worst. With that I'll wrap up this absurdly long comment. I could go on and on gushing about how insane this lore drop is. Any who though good episode bro. Don't feel bad about raging to Metyr I felt it was very relatable, because in my first 2 playthroughs of the DLC she made me rage so hard as well. Beat my like 13 or 14 times each run. Now I can first try her, but I really had to download her moveset. Dodging her beams requires actively running then dodging. When she jumps and slams down you not only have to dodge but you can't be too close to her as her whole body becomes a hitbox. She shares this trait with Bayle. Hopefully if you ever fight her again these tips help. Oh and last thing. Her music while not being the most hype also tells an insane story. First phase it's epic and magnificent, but her second phase is this sole droning sound. Which is intentional and if you know what that sound is it'll blow your mind. It's a sound of a Black Hole like a REAL LIFE Black Hole sound. Her tail literally has a contained Black Hole at its end. When she dies unlike every other boss who turns to ash and is absordbed by either the Erdtree or Scadutree she is absorbed into a Black Hole upon death. Also fun fact about the Black Hole. That's the Greater Wills true form, read Count Ymir's hats item description for more details it's crazy. Yeah though take care and have a wonderful weekend bro 😁🤝🏻🌟

The Shaman Village was Marika's birthplace, that's why she had the Tree Sentinels there protecting it

There is an important item in the Shaman Village. Try walking around and slowly taking in the surroundings. Don’t know if you noticed, but the summon symbol was available when you were riding into the finger ruins. They probably expected that you would call a summon because the approach was a bit of a battle. I think you’ll appreciate my last video, with Metyr. FYI, Iris of Grace gives you a summon, and Iris of Occultation gives you a weapon.

They were studying frenzy in that building, the inquisitors tortured everyone and burned everything to try and keep it away, but since frenzy is born in suffering, it had the opposite effect. Those dudes lined up in front was a warning to the rest of the forest to stay away from the manse. You see how that went.

Good episode bro! I love how you and I both had an easy time fighting Gaius meanwhile everyone else hates him. This is the boss most people hate most. I literally don't get it because he's WAY more fun than Putrescent Knight. He was also a rival of Radahns and they both learned Gravity magic together as students to the same teacher. With Messmer being Gaius' best friend and both Gaius and Messmer were like older brothers to Radahn in his youth. Which once again adds to Messmers character, not only that but that he let an Albanauric be the general of his army. That's why Gaius rides a giant Boar btw it's because he's an Albanauric and has no legs. That's also the cruel joke of how Messmers men made Gaius a pair of pants but he couldn't wear them as he had no legs. My head cannon is that the Albanauric woman we kill that has his pants was his wife, and that we kill this man his pet boar and then we go and kill his wife and her pet wolf then steal the mans pants. Absolutely diabolical. Jokes aside you're on the right track to finishing the DLC at this rate. All you have left I'm pretty sure is finishing the Manus Metyr questline then going through Shadow Keep to reach Rauh Ruins. Progressing through Rauh Ruins will take you to the end. As for finishing the Manus Metyr questline you're gonna want to drop by Bonnie Village and claim the O Mother gesture. If you already have it then that means all you gotta do is go to the grace before you enter Gaius' boss room and in front of that Marika statue use that gesture there. Doing so shall let you go to the zone you seek to finish off the Manus Metyr questline. I'm currently on my Faith build trying to get through the whole game and DLC. I have no issue getting through the base game but the DLC is kicking my poor faith bois ass lol. I'm using my favorite weapon The Coded Sword. I know it's not the best, but I absolutely love that sword it looks like a magic light saber to me. eyyyy! GG with Gaius! He is the one who frustrate me so much that I respec to ARC Bleed build, but you beat him in a couple of tries! And oh, to get to the second finger ruins, you need to perform a gesture in front of that marika statue before the Gaius arena. The gesture is somewhere outside Bonny Village. Oh, and don't worry Thiollier, he's just shock that the girl he likes talked to you, rather than to him, but don't worry, he'll turn around and will lend you hand in two 'crucial fights'. Great episode, man! =)
