The large stones that spawn the ghost warrior/mages can be destroyed. However, the summoning stones in the boss hallway cannot be destroyed. There are three hollows that will ring the bell. One of the is hanging out below the stairs. One comes in from the side, and the last one just comes from the ground. Taking the time to kill them makes the bell ringing stop completely. That being said, the ghost warrior mages drop a sword that is also a spell catalyst, that is very good for sword mage builds. The small shield they drop can be infused to magic and do 100% magic negation, as well as parry spells.
